everyone longterm buying the s**t out of ammo?

Pretty much it right there. LOTS of new gun owners, plus lots of worried existing gun owners, plus the TP effect. The PRIVATE market (NOT .mil or LE) is estimated to consume just over 8 billion rounds this year, manufacturers are working full on to produce, shortages are showing up (lead, brass, etc). And this is the worst 'run' on ammo, EVER.

So far outside of war...... give it another few months and 2021 will be far worse.....

I agree somthing will absolutely happenin the next 90-100 days.
1. Financial disaster.
2. Election
3. China invading Taiwan.
4. Unforseen other Black Swan

Or, all of the above...
We do know the following:

a) We have an election with 50% of the population pissed off and armed to the teeth.
b) We have the covid going crazy due to the change in weather
c) We have all kinds of cash being thrown at the populace due to the election.
d) We will have riots across the USA.

Those are facts.

Stopped at a BK recently and ordered a large tea (unsweet).

They sent a medium in the wax paper cup.

At the window, I asked for a large...again.

They told me that this was the new large. The 30oz has been dropped, by corporate mandate.

So, tell us why the ammo has run out. Gov't purchases, gov't hindering the manufacturers, the manufacturers voluntarily or involuntarily cutting production, or just everyone longterm buying the s**t out of ammo? There aren't many possibilities.
8 billion per year is only about 25 rounds per person in the USA. Half a box per person per year. That really is not much.

Yeah. not everyone is buying, but it really doesn't take as much buying to run at 100% in Mfg.

This is what happens to a 'just in time' economy when lots of people decide IT'S TIME all at once.

BTW, expect the same in beans as well as bullets before too long.

That is what the virus has shown the USA. Nothing is in stock when the poop hits the fan. Nothing!!

If you don't have it in hand, they do are going to do without.

Already seeing BIG gaps (again) in local store product availability.
The gaps are one thing. That can be explained away in most cases. Like the darn TP. The problem I am beginning to fear is the thin depth of the shelves themselves.

Our local Sams has at best a pallet of x per week. We consume a pallet or so a week. So often the 2nd or third day after delivery, there is little to be had of that item. I am seeing it over and over again. That is beginning to scare me more and more. Yes, we have months and months of food, but just seeing the problem first hand is scary.

I would much rather hear it happening some other place.

Agreed. At both the local H-E-B and Wallys, where you would normally see multiple flats of canned goods (for example) there might be ONE flat. (Normally there are two flats side-by-side, stacked 2 high, with the same amount behind those, for a total of 8 flats.) And this was repeated over and over throughout both stores. Frozen goods were the same (and with MUCH empty shelf space). Produce is mostly okay here locally.

Produce seems to be the exception here also. Plenty of it.

I wonder if the big chains are the ones having trouble keeping the entire system up?

Just got back from our shopping at the local grocery store, had plenty of everything. Plenty. Isles were blocked waiting to be put up.

Family packs of hamburger 3 1/2 lbs, were 1.98 a lb. All you wanted to buy. One pound packs were 3.19 (?) or 3.59. Even on sale 5 for 19.99 and the packs were 1 1/2 lbs. Savings but small, but my meaning is they had plenty.

2 1/2 lbs of King Cotton Bacon 7.99.

However it's not like going to walmart, all they have is food, with some toiletries. Meaning small variety. Walgreens is across the street with sales for that, and with card discounts. Meaning you're probably going to have to go to several places to get all your normal walmart stopping. Which now is our new normal.

As for ammo. Scarce. Last week a local hunting store had a max purchase of 2000 rds of .22lf. and not much else.

The fake investigations/impeachment, followed by the overblown epidemic, followed by the Stalin Youth riots.
Underneath it all is a real political war and a real depression that will both only get worse.
Maybe the pestilence and war will be followed by famine to make the biblical three of judgment. We don't have to run out of food, get just enough people freaked out enough to clean out the stores. My mind is still boggled by the goofiness over butt ribbon.
Will we really starve? No more then the pandemic will leave bodies in the streets, or the government will really deal with the insurrection. Just another engineered fake for political purposes.
Worldwide, who knows? I think that we're sliding deeper and deeper into depression territory and acting accordingly.
A few months ago the blogger who calls himself Commander Zero wrote that whatever your biggest worry was when the pandemic scare started is probably the thing that you ought to working on.

I haven't seen chemtrails in months. Are those still a thing?
Your post gave me a thought: maybe “the fleet” that normally is plowing up our skies, has been busy plowing up the skies near China to seed the air-borne rivers of moisture heading for China so they will flood that country...

Y'all are really motivating me to take my preps up a notch if that is even possible...out of room. If we ever get our income tax money, I'm spending the whole thing on that endeavor but who knows when that will be. I waited til July 14th to have my taxes done. Had I known we'd overpaid that much, you can be sure I wouldn't have dragged my feet. I'm working on a list right now!

Yeah ... on top of our normal pantry, we now have a whole room dedicated as a pantry. Almost full. Need more canned fruits, hard to get. More canned meats, soups, health items and soaps, spices. Toilet paper has been spotty, and paper towel.

When Costco has these things you’re limited to 1. So we make daily trips.

Not to be facetious, but on a personal level I can add moving my parents down the street from us to my list of insanity over the next quarter. We did a walk-through of the house yesterday and while the lady was clean she and her kids did not exactly treat the house with gentle hands. We’re having to replace a lot of door knobs and light fixtures. And my kitchen cabinets need a lot of work as well. Which is what I’m going to be doing today. Then comes the flooring. We may be ripping up some of the older tile floor that we put in when we first bought the place I don’t know at this point everything is just insane.

If you all don’t see me on here fairly regularly for the next couple of days or even the next week it is because I am working on that house. And that’s before I start getting my mom and dad’s stuff moved into the house. Oh my Lord they’ve been married over 50 years in this place we’re moving them from they were in for 25 years. There simply are not words.
Yeah, tell me about it. We're trying to get ready to move from a 2200 square ft house (plus 720 sq ft basement) to a 300 sq ft apartment on our son's small farm. We've been farming and prepping here for 42 years. And I'm NOT leaving my preps... or dogs, horses and a very small nucleus herd of cows.

But if I don't get back surgery first, I won't be any use in any of it.

At this point, I sure hope God has a plan, because I sure don't!

The next 90 days, you ask?

increasing demonization of christians.
increasing attacks by blacks against whites
increasing attacks of Antifa whites against police
increasing shortages of food
increasing rates of suicide
increasing loss of civility amongst the civilians
a new claim of another disease breakout, allegedly traced to people licking the glue on the envelopes they sealed before mailing...;)
increasing levels of restrictions demanded by states/governors
Increasing riots by the marxists hired-and-paid mobs

then, the meteoroids start to fall...

As per my earlier shopping post, consider checking local stores, instead of big box Costco type. They had everything you listed in droves, and toilet paper by Charmin in the red - strong. Local grocery store had paper towels sitting in the isle as a sale item. AND no limit.

Just saying.

If they precieve that things are not going their way, they very well could sacrifice Zero in public.... stirring the unhinged demonic crowds to massive upheaval....... yeah ...... this is something I see...
