GOV/MIL Newsom calls for California ban on new gas-fueled cars by 2035 with Executive Order

Thats what I was thinking. This move to ban combustion engines IMO is really about limiting our mobility. They are trying to keep us in one place and enslave us even further. The soft tyranny we've endured for decades is getting harder and harder.
I agree with you completely. I see it too.

What tourist will drive into California if they can't find a working gas station, as most will go out of business. From what I read, from the Co2 they claim is responsible for green house gas, 200 billion tons come from natural sources, the rest of humanity combined only produces 7 billion tons. A drop in the bucket. Even if the world shut down everything, nature would still keep producing and the climate would still change. It's a natural cycle.

What these imbeciles don’t understand is that every facet of the modern world starts in the bottom of a oil well. Every thing we buy, do, grow, manufacture etc etc begins with oil. Without oil, modern life as we know it grinds to a stop. Without oil their electric green car orgasm will not exist.

72% of the oil that comes out of the ground goes to make fuel, gas, diesel, fuel oil, heating oil, kerosene, jet fuel etc.

Propane is a by product of refining natural gas and crude. We all know that the electric power infrastructure can’t handle every body going electric. Neither can the oil companies.
At some point the oil companies will start closing down. I know. I see it first hand now just from the stupid Covid scare.

Put the oil companies out of business and their won’t be any electric anything. Or propane.

Have a friend who has one - range is 30 miles before needing recharged. Of course, there is a 1 gal gas tank as a back up just in case. She only drove it to and from work because she didn't trust it any further.

The ones at "the top" do understand it and see it as a key to seizing and holding power in the creation of their tyranny.

per the governor comment about the last good one.... George Deukmejian (83-91) and Pete Wilson (91-99) weren't too bad. Wilson got some recognition for prop 187 which was passed by the electorate to prevent foreign nationals from receiving government benefits, i.e. welfare, food stamps, medical care. It was frozen as an unconstitutional infringement of federal immigration and public benefits. If I recall correctly, it was under those governors that California had a balanced budget and cash reserve for emergencies. Not any more...

Regarding some of the commentary on electric vehicles and charging, I would suggest some of the posters should research the subject and not post opinion as fact.

DH drives a Bolt. 250 - 325 mile range on a charge. He charges on our solar system. No gas, no maintenance cheap inspection.
Have any of your driven one or even ridden in one? They are fast!

They are idiots in that state. The grid would go DOWN when lots of people charge up their electric cars. It will never work!!!
It will if energy is rationed and only provided to socially useful activities. The manufacture of guns and ammo will not be one of those activities. Neither will be suburban housing.

Some Teslas supposedly can swap batteries in a couple of minutes.

Tesla offers that service at some of their charging locations on the East and West coasts. The (poor sucker) Tesla owner has to pay for that service however. And the batteries are a "pool" of batteries. You may have a brand new Tesla (hehehe sucker) but the battery you swap out might be older/not as capable as the one you turn in.

They're fast because they're light and lightly/cheaply built. The dash feels like it's made out of cups recycled from the McDonald's drive through, the carpet feels like it was ripped off the mice that inhabit the plant it's made in. Don't press the hood too hard, you'll dent it. Or the aprons or C pillar for that matter. Oh, and some of the trim is put on with double sided tape. Quality....

The Tridon shell in a Smart car is safer than a Bolt. The Volt was a better built car, measurably better actually. But it wasn't profitable because it cost too much to build.
That's how we ended up with the Bolt. Better than driving a Tesla, but not by much.

Not true. It is a solid, heavy car and has a high safety rating. You must not have driven one. Tesla is the one with those issues. You're misinformed.

"Agenda 2030" = "Stop using up OUR OIL, you filthy peasants!"

TPTB want to keep what's left for their own personal use so that it will last far into the future.

Thomas Wictor thinks this may be just the straw needed to actually change CA to red.
..I think he's probably overly optimistic, given all else that the state has swallowed, but, maybe??

To get that ball rolling the economic and environmental impact and numbers are going to need to be spelled out loud and clear. Recall the MTBE fiasco....

In a recent interview, Deborah Taveres told how after a prolonged power shutoff, electric powered cars were useless. Hasn’t Gov. Newsom been informed? Maybe that’s also part of his plan.

you know this is about money
and you know that politicians get "money" from slush funds.

Man electricity generation must create a massive humongous slush fund for them to dip in to to pay for their sexual fantasies.

BTW, they are not going to generate electricity with coal, oil, gas, solar, or wind.
they will build nuclear - because they have to
