New polls suggest Democrats will lose Senate control in 2022

As midterm elections battles begin to heat up ahead of the 2022 vote, new polls suggest that Democrats will lose control of the Senate.
Currently, Democrats hold a slight majority in the Senate, with Vice President Kamala Harris serving at the tie-breaker in the 50-50 split chamber.

Just one seat lost to a Republican would mean the GOP scoops up the majority once again, and in many states, the race is currently shaping up to lean that way.

According to Newsweek, a poll from the Adam Laxalt campaign in Nevada showed Laxalt leading Cortez Masto by 39 percent to 37 percent. The poll was conducted by Chris Wilson of WPA Intelligence from September 11 to 15.

"Internal polling from September shows that this has quickly become a very tight race," a polling memo from the Laxalt campaign said, according to Newsweek. "With each passing day of the Biden presidency, the environment gets better for Republicans."

A VCreek/AMG poll showed Laxalt coming out on top as well, leading by a 10-point margin.

The battle spreads across the country though, not just in Nevada. In New Hampshire, incumbent Senator Maggie Hassan is set to battle it out with current New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu.

A Saint Anselm College poll has Republican Sununu beating Hassan, at 49 to 40 percent.

In Georgia, where January's special election garnered nationwide attention after Raphael Warnock beat Governor Brian Kemp-appointed Senator Kelly Loeffler for a seat, there is set to be another fierce battle, with NFL legend Herschel Walker running with the endorsement of former President Donald Trump.

A poll from Public Policy Polling in the beginning of August showed Warnock in the lead by a slight two points at 48-46.
Another battle is set to play out in Wisconsin if incumbent Republican Senator Ron Jonshon choses to run again. A Clarity Campaign Labs poll from September showed Johnson ties with potential Democratic candidate and Wisconsin lieutenant governor Mandela Barnes.

Of course at least NINE Repub Senators are already two feet on the opposite side of the political fence. They sit on the rail only because it pays better than going full Democrat.

You can bet there will be intense scrutiny of the votes. Dems will be out.

Doesn't even matter :( What exactly did the GOP do to stop Obamacare when they had the house and senate??? They get in front of a microphone and whine and complain every chance they get but when they get the opportunity to do something they sit on their hands. I wish something would sweep through DC and take them ALL out!

I think the one term and you are out is a great idea.

How about making all newly elected officials declare their assets, and prohibit them from increasing their net worth more then their salaries?

Tired of Politicians worth less then a $100,000 leave office worth millions.

The Senate races are also clouding the issue on the house. I think there are enough Republicans running in Texas to rid the world of the Queen Nancy cock roach. If the GOP can get the house and senate Joe is fried and can only veto bills hitting his desk.

As long as the Rs don't find a way to stop the voter fraud, there will never be another turnover and I haven't heard of anyone other than the Ds even trying to pass voter reform laws. Newsom passed permanent mail-in/cheating votes but nobody on the right seems to be worried. Maybe that's because the RINOs get enough fake votes to keep them in as long as they do what the marxists tell them to do?
Anyone else remember the last time the Rs held all 3 branches - and didn't do anything with the opportunity? Or before that when Newt had the "Contract with America" that they broke within a few months?

The simple fact that there is any doubt that the Republicans will take control of both the House and Senate stands as proof that our country is badly broken. Bided and his ilk aren't the problem. They are a symbol of a problem, which are the people, particularly all the foreigners with their foreign ways, that keep people like him in power.
