Thanks for allowing me TB entrance. I tried to get in around 2006, but couldn't.
I can say that I've really enjoyed this place over the years, well, most of the
time anyway. As a matter of fact, I've used this site so often over the years, I
feel like a stalker. I've even assigned names to many of the members. The main
boss here has done a wonderful job of keeping this site cemented together.
I'm not much for writing but let me share some of the names that I've assigned
to some of the members here.

There is Lauren Bacall, dairy farmer. I picture Lauren bebopping down to the dairy
barn in the morning while listening to old classic tones. She is wearing red short
shorts, white tank top, baseball cap, old faded tennis shoes, and her hair is in a ponytail.
She is carrying a bucket full of milk replacer, the cats are brushing their tails against
Lauren's long tan legs and the unrestricted girls are dancing. I'll bet she loves
the Summer time for tanning! Her medical advice is outstanding. I'm still trying to
figure out how a dairy farmer picks up so much good medical info.???

Then there is the artist, Kathy Bates, a true puzzle. Sometimes when Kathy writes, I'm
wondering if maybe she packs in too darn much firewater. Other times, I'm amazed by
what she writes, almost like she is a different person. Kathy is married to Danny Devito
who is her commander in chief. Which may explain why Kathy is horny all the time.

Then we have Lesley Ann Warren from UffdaVille. A very quiet and gentle person. I don't
think that she would hurt a butterfly. Has only a few words to say and just flutters away.
I wonder if she likes Dairy Queen?

Then there is the Marlboro Man, an absolutely great writer who rides a Harley. His post are
always outstanding and never need to be doctored. I treat his post as words of wisdom.
I wish that I could write like the Marlboro Man, but I can't.

PS, I still miss Timbo from Flint...............................what a great guy.................

I'm a long time lurker (over 10 years, maybe over 15 years) finally joining up. Thank you, Dennis, for the invitation.

I have interests in gardening, minerals, and a few other activities. I like most dogs (there are some breeds I can't stand), and we currently have a "superior hybrid" (as DH calls him). I don't know how much (if anything) I can contribute, but rest assured that I read the forum every day.

Hi everyone. I am COelf and live in south-central Colorado. I have lurked for a long time and happily, I joined. I have returned to college at my great age! I have a degree in biocultural anthropology and public health. Now I am working on my Doctor of Health Science degree. Wow, talk about a lot of money but without an advanced degree, I could see nothing in my future.
Our climate at 8,500 feet allows limited time for outdoor gardening so I garden in pots inside the house. I have a greenhouse and a large yard for outdoor gardening.
I also knit, crochet, quilt, and can our foods.

Ya'll couldn't have picked a better time to join. Looks like the world is about to get right sporty.

And don't be afraid to jump in on the forums. Everyone here has a story to tell and a tidbit to share. And here there is always an attentative audience. Your contributions make the TB2K family stronger!

As part of our enhanced board security procedures, we are now requiring all new members to check in and let us know you are here by posting to this or any other thread within 1 week of registration.

Every Friday evening, we will purge all members who have been registered for more than 1 week but have never posted.

Since we no longer allow non-posting members, this "check-in" post may serve as your one and only post if you simply want to be a registered "lurker".

But don't be just a lurker!

Everyone has something to contribute!

BEFORE you post your first post, please read the Rules for Posting that are at the top of just about every page on this board.

By posting your first post in here or on any other thread, you signify that you HAVE read the Rules for Posting.

Thanks, and welcome to Timebomb2000!

Kris

Edit to add:

I just want to caution everyone that we have a lot of new members, many of which are long-time lurkers who have been around as long or longer than many of us. They are just as much a part of this board and their posts, now that they have "de-cloaked" so to speak, are just as valuable as any of us oldtimers' posts.

That being said...

The flip side of that coin is that the only way we "know" people is by their posting history...

Regardless of how long you have been lurking and how much you feel like you know all of us and wish to now contribute (and we DO welcome such contributions), please keep in mind that we don't "know" you...yet.

And please bear with us until we DO get to know you a little better.

As many of you know, we have recently come through a difficult time on the board. We HAVE had some "hit-and-run" troublemakers and trolls who just love to toss out some heated or controversial tidbit and watch the fur fly.

Keep in mind that WE (the mods and admins and the other members) cannot easily tell the difference between a recently de-cloaked, long-time, sincere lurker turned poster and a "hit and run" troll looking to stir up trouble.

Please bear that in mind if some of us appear rather sensitive to certain posts in this time of tremendous sensitivity and uncertainty and potential dis-information.

I hope you new members with relatively few posts under your belt can understand that the rest of us cannot readily assume ANYTHING about any poster with relatively few posts.

Like it or not, in this medium, you earn your stripes via your posts...so please DO post and let us get to know you through your contributions but PLEASE do not take offense if we question, ask for further clarification, evidence, links, etc.

I hope this came out like I intended it...

Very long time lurker. Just like everyone else responding above I wish to thank everyone here, both long time live-ins and newbys like me, for putting together a wonderful source of current information and news and keeping it like a second home.
Very humble thank you for allowing me the opportunity to become a part of the family.

Hello, another long time lurker here. I have been reading the forums for 5-6 years now. I got interested in finding news out side the main stream media and I ran into TB2K. I felt that the members here always had quick insight into what was happening around the world and were continually quick to update the boards with new information. I'm glad to be aboard to finally enjoy some of the banter and comment in when I can.

Welcome, Tree Dude & hilltop.

The forum is open for your input.

Let's hear it.

Remember, you can't embarrass yourself any more than the rest of us do.

Hi everyone,

I'm yet another Myers-Briggs INTJ. I've been a lurker for years but recent political events in Virginia have turned me from a watcher to a joiner, not just here but several other places as well.

I grew up in North Carolina and work there now, but I've lived in southwest Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains for the past 25 years.
My county was the third to become a Second Amendment Sanctuary.
The last time I counted there were 45 buses headed to the capital for the Legislature's January 20th Lobby Day. I'll be on one of them.

Hello all.
I've been lurking here, and at that previous site back around 1999 (I forgot its name) since pre-Y2K. I'm not off to the best start, as when registering and having to supply two possible usernames, I wanted the other one. ;(

Hi to everyone.

Another longtime lurker (daily reader) here taking the plunge at Dennis' recent invitation.

I live in a mid Atlantic state, too near the center of an urban jungle, itching to move to location more amenable to redpilled individuals like myself. Tough to do right now, as DW is redpilled as well but likes her conveniences...

That aside, I like to visit the range regularly, have been home gardening to extent possible, have a bug out ready 4 wheel drive, prepped in a variety of essentials. Always more to do though, as you all know.

Anyways, I am happy to have joined this group and hope that I can contribute in some small way.

Thank you all for making this corner of the internet.

Hello everyone! I had an account years back. I couldn’t remember the username I had it was so long ago or what email I used back then. Times being what they are, getting back on here at this time seemed as essential as double checking all my preps.
I wasn’t military for health reasons. So I was unclassified IT for .mil for a few companies to feel I was doing something. I picked up a few nuggets along the way that may help contribute here.

Howdy everyone. Glad to see all the new folks in here. Jump in and enjoy the conversations. This year has started off with a bang (literally!) and the rest of us here look forward to your insights and thoughts. Come on in,take your shoes off and sit a spell. The virtual rocking chairs are comfy and JWard lays out a nice selection of snacks. I think Millwright and Red baron are in charge of the adult beverages.
There is so much that we can learn from you. And there is so much going on in the world, your eyes and Ears and thoughts and opinions are valued and valuable.

Thank you Dennis for the invite. I have been "lurking" for gosh, over 5 years. Finally decided I needed to step up and join the ranks of those who share their thoughts on the state of the world today. I don't know how often I will post, but I do enjoy the work of those who do. Please, all, keep up the good work that your messages provide.

Hello, again. It's Freeman again.

How do I set up an ICON for myself (photograph or artwork) to replace the apparent default
(Letter 'F').

Thanks for any reply.
