Misc Need quick & easy pattern - Crocheted Baby Afghan

I need a quick baby afghan pattern that will work up quickly. I've been crocheting for almost 40 years, but I'm tired of the same old patterns. I'm in a rut.

Anyone have a favorite that's not too involved?

Check out Ravelry (www.ravelry.com). You can search for free patterns for crocheted baby afghans and you should find lots. If you are not a member, joining is free and easy.

Pinterest has lots of crochet.
If something I like doesn't link to a pattern, I have on occasion made up a piece sort of similar. Crochet cramps my hands, so I don't do it much, but DIY granny square patterns are fun to come up with.

Have you made a corner 2 corner? Goes fast and has great texture. Starting another one now. I searched for instructions and found very good ones with pictures. Have fun.

Thanks everyone for the ideas!

I dug around in my stash and found 4 granny squares the same color. Stitched them together to make a large square, and now making granny square dc clusters around the edge in alternating rows of colors. Never done this before, but it'll use up some of my spare colors and it's different.

I came to this late, but my favorite way to crochet a baby blanket (when I crochet which isn't that often anymore) is to make a giant granny square out of whatever colors seem nice (babies like red so red and white are popular or purple and blue etc) then do single crochet or garter stitch knitted borders on either end to make a rectangle - add four tassels on the corners so the blanket drapes better if desired.
