PREP Need more $ for prepping?

As per the OP:

There is a commercial for some financial app for your phone, Quick Books, Rocket Mortgage, something, where it looks over your expenses, and notes like: paying for 3 Doordash apps and it will cancel them for the guy.

The guy doesn't know he is paying for 3 door dash apps? (or whatever it is) How can such a thing be? How does he balance his checking account........and then it hits me.......he's using a CREDIT CARD to pay for them. Just pays the minimum every month and doesn't pay attention to what he is paying for.

so one way to increase dollars for preps is to take a close look at your finances, balance your check book and cancel any redundant bills, and take control of your finances.

Or......put all your preps on a CREDIT CARD, and hope for the end of the world before the bill comes due.

Just guessing here, but I'm assuming if you can afford the 30 mil you can afford to order your own....maidens of a personal taste.

I'm sure they have an app for that.
But I'd have to get them trained to operate a 5,000 acre ranch. Much easier if they came as part of a package deal to buy a turn key ranch.

All those years of prepping did me absolutely no good. It was fun though if hugely expensive. The only thing that would have done us any good was long term care insurance which would taken care of the disaster that actually happened. It's a suckers game folks. You can't outsmart life. In looking back on all my preps the only ones that actually made sense was a go bag and parking the truck facing out when a wildfire was threatening us.
It makes no sense to play the lotto, said a winner never....... It appears the day may be on the near horizon those who have prepped might just need them......then they will be glad they did.....

I consider the concept of prepping like paying for insurance. If you need it, it's good to have it. If you don't need it, it's good too....it's a cost of doing life properly.

like anything they require maintenance, especially if you are taking it out on the open road. Those tires are expensive. We've had it up to almost 80 mph but it is a lot more ... er ... adventurous in an open vehicle than I want to experience on a regular basis. LOL

Holy Cow! Almost 80 in a side by side? No mold growing on the two of you for sure. With a standard ATV you get much over 25 or 30 on pavement you are bouncing around so much all it would take is one pothole to launch you in the air.

The UTVs can be made street legal. Ours aren't but they can be made so. We have Pioneer 1000s; two of them. The top speed is supposed to be 70mph but we had it up to 80 mph and it pegged out. The engine really whined. We decided not to do that again. For multiple reasons including that it was a little insane as we weren't wearing any helmets or anything else. LOL

Regarding prepping being worthwhile or not, I'm glad my pile is still unused, I look at it first like regular insurance, like health or fire, where you are glad when you didn't need it, that you didn't get cancer or your house didn't burn down.

And, as a bonus with prepper insurance, for a lot of it, like the food and fuel, you can always make use of it if a crisis hadn't already, where with any regular insurance, like health & fire, you do not get back the premiums you've been paying every year if you didn't use them.

And, new added bonus nowadays, is for many prepper items, like food, fuel, household stuff, you are saving money buying and stocking up now on stuff that'd likely cost you more in six months anyways! You are actually losing $ not stocking up!

I take every power outage and inconvenience as a reason to revisit my setup. Right now I am trying to get wiring finalized for an initial generator plug and interlock switch on my main. And later I was looking at adding a manual disconnect switch, but I would need a licensed electrician for that and permits possibly.
