Not familiar with the local terrain or fauna. Rocks? Fence posts? Cactus? Joshua trees? Mail box post?
Maybe a saguaro here or there but mostly just scrub -bushy-type things. Joshua trees don’t grow here and there aren’t likely any trees in that area.

I’m not intimately familiar with that exact neighborhood so am speaking in more general terms. Fencing here is usually block; more rural areas (like this might be) have wire fences. No rocks. Possibly mail boxes and ring cameras.

I'm heartened to see that this "conservative" group sees this story and reacts with sorrow and caring. If things were reversed, the left would be cheering and hoping she dies a horrible death.

We're better than the other side by miles. I hope she is found alive. Prayers.

THIS.

RAISE THE FINES AGAINST COMPANIES HIRING ILLEGALS to make it SO punitive that any "savings" they realize from the cheaper labor are TOTALLY EATEN UP BY THE FINES.

Then this madness of illegals coming here will STOP, in large part.

They would still, of course, have access to our welfare system--which needs to also STOP, NOW.
Any fines would mean that sum of money is not going to political donations.

Both parties agree to not pass laws to raise fines.

Have people forgotten how the real world works?

That, I believe, is because most conservatives embrace old fashioned standards and values.

I'm guessing the "ransom note" from TMZ is someone, totally not involved in the abduction, trying to make a buck. If her pace maker stopped syncing, she probably died Sunday in the botched abduction attempt. The actual abductors probably disposed of the body and have left the country by now.

Whatever the involvement of whomever put out the ransom demand, they're going to be hunted just as vigorously as they are hunting for Nancy Guthrie.

Savannah Guthrie's Missing Mom
Brother-In-Law Could Be Prime Suspect ...
Ashleigh Banfield Says

There's a stunning twist in the kidnapping of 'TODAY' anchor Savannah Guthrie's mother Nancy ... her son-in-law might be the prime suspect, according to Ashleigh Banfield.

Banfield -- the former host of "Banfield" on NewsNation -- reported Tuesday night ... Tommaso Cioni has been identified by police as a possible suspect in the case, citing a trusted law enforcement source.

The veteran journalist says Cioni is married to Savannah's sister Annie -- and the two were the last people to see Nancy on Saturday night. Annie reportedly had dinner with Nancy that night ... but it's unclear if Cioni was also present.

As you know, Nancy's family called police Sunday after they got word she didn't show up to her regular Sunday church service.

Now, Banfield says investigators have towed Annie's car, which has "some connection" to 50-year-old Cioni. Banfield adds that all the cameras at Nancy's Tucson, Arizona home were smashed in.

TRAIL OF BLOOD
NewsNation
Earlier Tuesday, NewsNation published a video showing a trail of blood leading to the front steps of Nancy's house. The Los Angeles Times also reports that blood was found at the crime scene, which belonged to Nancy.

TMZ was sent an alleged ransom note from an unknown person or persons who demanded payment in exchange for Nancy's release. The Pima County Sheriff's Department and the FBI are investigating whether the note is authentic.

DEMANDING MONEY

Police say Nancy was kidnapped from her home in the middle of the night over the weekend. Investigators are working fast to find Nancy ... believing time is of the essence. She's 84, in poor health, and without her daily medication.

We reached out to Cioni for comment ... so far no word back.

I think it is irresponsible to release that before there is reasonable proof he is responsible. Investigating someone as a prime suspect is a far cry from charging. If he is innocent it will still smear him. And the other member says he is a teacher.
well, I didn't make Ashleigh Banfields youtube or her website so not sure who you are calling irresponsible, me? her? auxman?

They impounded her sister's car, there is blood inside and outside the missing woman's home, her cameras were smashed and taken and lots of other stuff. (per the AB video and her podcast/website dropdeadserious.com)

JLR investigates! is doing a live broadcast on youtube right now, I haven't watched it yet, just saw the blip on youtube.

To? Or FROM? Big difference...and i guarantee law enforcement knows which it is.

As far as naming the son-in-law "prematurely"...if they know for certain that he was at her house the night before, that's pretty much a given, *especially* if there are signs the perp was familiar with the home. Trashing "all the cameras" might be part of that... if she had multiple cameras inside and out, a stranger perp in a hurry would be likely to miss one or more.

But it's just like when a husband or wife goes missing... the surviving spouse is always the first one they look at. And if their only alibi is "she was here when I went to bed. I woke up in the morning and she was gone", they can be looking at some tough questions unless another perp or evidence of another is found.

On the pacemaker stopping syncing with her IPhone... I don’t know how that works. Do they have to be in fairly close proximity, or on the same Wi-Fi? Was her phone left at home? I'm assuming it also uploads the data to a web service, like fitness trackers do...

I guess I'm wondering if she left the phone behind, it wouldn't necessarily indicate that she was dead - just out of range?

The whole thing is just sad. Live into your eighties, and not be allowed to finish our your life in peace. Whoever did it is the scum of the Earth.

Ok, I just moved all the off topic posts to a new thread on Main. It's here:

West...please try to stop from inserting your pet hobby horse into *every* thread! Yes, Kathy and I both contributed to the thread drift. And that's the problem...you raise valid points, which should be discussed, but not where you randomly inserting them!

I confirmed with my son that this is my granddaughter's teacher by his picture. I hope this is not true, those kids will be horrified and scared if he did something like this. I see him directing traffic around the school when I pick them up. The sheriff said so far they aren't naming any suspects.

The only thing that the pacemaker data indicates is that the iPhone and Apple Watch were left at the house. It just gives the time she left, it doesn't mean she's dead.
Thank you. I sort of suspected that might be the case, as if it should have been able to sync from anywhere, they'd be pretty sure they were looking for a body. Appreciate the input.

Am I correct that they are not "syncing" only because of the distance between them--iow, because the iPhone/Apple Watch were left behind? Not because the pacemaker isn't still sending out data?

Those of you with medical knowledge--what sort of "life-or-death" medications would a woman with a heart condition / pacemaker need daily would she need and that apparently were also left behind?

Yes, as SmithJ said in Post #110 above.

As far as meds, who knows...but almost certainly, an anti-clotting med would be high on the list. Possibly an anti-arrhythmic, as well. She could be diabetic, too...
