Police: Shooter at Tennessee school dead

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV/Gray News) – Metro Police are investigating a shooting Monday morning at The Covenant Presbyterian School.
Metro Police confirmed there was an active shooter at the school, and the shooter is dead. Student reunification is at Woodmont Baptist Church, 2100 Woodmont Boulevard.
Nashville Fire Department confirmed multiple patients via Twitter.
The Covenant is located at 33 Burton Hills Boulevard, and Hillsboro Pike is closed from Harding Place to Hobbs Road for police at the scene.
Few details are available.

The CBS anchor's MOTHER IN LAW WORKS THERE--she's talking live now. Her MIL heard the shots but was on break so not near the shooting area.

Officials responded to a shooting at a school in Nashville on Monday with multiple victims confirmed, authorities said. The suspected shooter is dead, police said.
"An active shooter event has taken place at Covenant School, Covenant Presbyterian Church, on Burton Hills Dr.," Nashville police said in a tweet. "The shooter was engaged by MNPD and is dead."
Earlier the Nashville fire department said there were "multiple" victims.
"We can confirm we have multiple patients. Parents coming to the school should go to 20 Burton Hills at this time. This is an active scene," the department tweeted.
Convent is a private Christian school in Nashville for preschool through 6th grade, CBS affiliate WTVF reported. Last year, the school ran an active shooter training program, the station reported.
Special agents at the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation were also involved in the response.
"At the request of District Attorney General Glenn Funk, TBI special agents and additional personnel are responding to the scene of this morning's school shooting in Green Hills," the agency tweeted. "As indicated by @MNPDNashville, there is no current threat to public safety."

The incident took place at the Covenant School on the outskirts of the city shortly after 10.30am on Monday.
Police say the gunman - who has not yet been named - killed three kids and two adults before being shot dead by police.
The shooter has not yet been named and it remains unclear what his motive was.
It's unclear how many were also injured, or what type of weapon was used.
Parents have been told to collect their children from the school, but no other information has been given.
There are around 33 staff members in the school and some 260 students.
Many of those students were seen running from the building today in their school uniforms after the shooting began.
Other schools in the area have gone into lockdown as a precaution, but there is not thought to be any additional threat.
Parents are now gathering at a church next to the school.
Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn was among the first to share her condolences.
It's unclear what kind of attack is underway. The Nashville Fire Department referred to it as being an 'active aggressor'

The shooting at The Covenant School in Nashville began at 10.13am on Monday. The female shooter entered the school through a side door and opened fire. She was dead by 10.27am.

Well that doesn't fit the usual profile, unless there's another crime scene off site, and even then.....Presser saying she was a teen with a pistol and two rifles....3 staff and three students dead as well as the shooter.

"Aren't you tired of being here? Aren't you tired of having to cover this? We have had so many of these mass shootings...."--
