PRYR RQST My ankle

I twisted it Tuesday while at the local Greenway with Rufus. Just didn't see that tree root. Rufus was a good boy and stood still and let me use him to get up. I hobbled back to the car and came home. My ankle was feeling better. I've twisted them so many times over the years I barely pay it any attention anymore. We went to group class yesterday and it was fine, a little tender but ok. Went to church this morning and by the time I got home it was swollen and hurting. I'm probably going to go let my chiro take a look at it in the morning and see what he thinks.

Cold-Hot-Cold 15 minutes each, start on cold and end on cold.

I've lost count of the number of times I've sprained my ankles. I broke one in 7 places as a 13 year old.

Ice it and wrap with an ace bandage. I just twisted my knee and those two things helped immensely along with Ibuprofen.

Thanks y'all. Had it elevated all afternoon. Should've iced it but didn't. I do have a wrap on it though and took some Tylenol muscle for it. Usually I walk these off in a day or two so it swelling back up and hurting again is odd. My chiro is amazing though and if needed will xray it.

You probably tore a few more ligament fibers than usual. Slightly higher grade sprain. But you just don't heal as fast as you did 10 years ago... and its entirely possible walking on it so soon extended the damage a bit.

My hubby is an OCD go getter... it took too many instances of injury for him to FINALLY volunteer that he'd found that he ended up needing less total time off work if he just followed instructions/ let stuff heal in the first place.

Prayers for a rapid resolution.

I did the same thing when I was 17, but only in 4 places.

Yes, get an xray. I have found that if you put castor oil only on the swollen painful parts and lightly wrap in saran wrap, in a few hours the swelling and pain will be gone. Best to take a nap or go to bed with the oil on those parts only, that is important.

In 2008 I twisted my ankle in one of my 4,000 coastal runs over 20 years. Hopping over 1/4 mile up and off the coast via a foot path was a feat in itself.

That night I took 3-grams of curcumin (refined and powdered tumeric) around midnight in olive oil.

The next morning my super-fat twisted ankle was normal size, and I could walk some on it.

Curcumin belongs in every BOB if your stomach can handle it.

Try to find it without piperine, the chemical compound of black pepper that can open the intestines, taking up too much of any prescribed medication you are on.

Don't be too upset with reddness or swelling, its a fracture and will take 4-6 weeks to heal, the swelling is your body building roads and bridges to get the repair equipment in and the trash out.
