Hey guys. In the past I have posted several threads here on TB2K showing the ballistics test we are conducting as well as upgrades we have done on guns. We have lots more content in the works. I had a similar series of information on another forum in the past on a different subject matter and ended up posting any new content in the same original thread. By doing so it allowed a new comer to start at the beginning of the thread and follow along as we progressed through content of our work over time. It worked out great and people liked being able to come to one thread to see what was going on at the time or to look back at past posts. This way you can scan through the pages and if something catches your eye you can check it out or maybe just check out the latest thing going at the end of the thread.

Mods I hope this is OK. This way only one thread will be popping up from time to time and not clutter the forum with bunches of threads over time. If not please let me know and delete if you must.

As this thread progresses its gonna get complicated to follow along if you just randomly post a comment and do not "Quote" the particular post you are commenting about so I suggest "Quoting" unless of course its just a random post of yours telling me how great this thread is :D. This way months down the road if you comment on a post from early on we will all know where you are coming from.

Anyhow I have two posts showing our latest content that should be up as fast as this old slow outdated computer will allow.

First is the latest video where we start shooting at distances more in line with realistic hunting at least in our scrub brush forests of Upstate South Carolina. We will be getting into some long range stuff eventually. Its gonna take time to get things rolling. If you watch any one of these videos it just appears to be random information. As time goes on and we build more content I think you will start to realize the relevance of our work as you will be able to go back and see how a particular round performs over another in a given test we do with them or other functions.

Hey guys! Thanks for stopping by. This is the first installment into our Practical Hunting Ballistics series. Here we'll show you accuracy, penetration, and terminal ballistics for a large variety of cartridges, enjoy! We do an accuracy test on paper, shoot water jugs for penetration comparisons and shoot a Boston Butt to see how the bullet performs in meat.

I’d love to try some Black Butterfly fodder in my 458. Too spendy for my budget though. Fun video. Keep em coming.

Thanks! Yeah its a bit pricey but lots of fun!! Just gotta limit how much playing you do.

By the way we have a 6.5 Creedmore(I noticed your name here) that will be making for some fun video in the not to distant future! We just gained access to a military/police traning camp on about 250 acres with some awesome range set ups including buildings. Also they have a 1000 or maybe 1200 yard range (forgot the distance, ha ha old age I guess).

Ranger Point Precision Trigger Pull vs. Stock Marlin Trigger
In this video my son compares a Range Point Precision Trigger to the stock Marlin Trigger.

Any of you who own or are familiar with the stock trigger on most lever guns knows how "floppy" they can be. They are also generally inconsistent which can affect your ability to shoot accurately. Accuracy and consistency tend to go hand in hand. We love this upgrade and have plans of doing it to a couple of our lever guns in the future. The stock trigger gets the job done but in our eyes an upgrade to a more precision trigger does it better. The lighter trigger pull tends to improve ones accuracy. Its not perfect but we like it better. The feel is much better as well at least for our big hands. Enjoy!

The latest is a video showing what a 308 "No typical White Tail" round will do. We were very impressed with the results. The more of these videos we do the more we learn. The advancments in ammunition technology have changed the industry.

Its getting to where we can look at the specs on a box of ammo and have a pretty good idea of what to expect the performance to be.

I really think this series is going to expand our knowledge of ammunition and the weapons as well. I hope all our efforts help others to learn as well.
Enjoy!!

Hey guys. A little something to occupy your time while being quarantined.

This video is the first in a series where Brian, my son builds a low end stock 30-30 into a custom rifle equivalent to a Marlin custom rifle they build and sell for a big price tag. We call it the budget brush gun but in the end its not cheap. What makes it a budget gun is you can buy the low end gun fairly cheap and then over time add parts/upgrades until you have the desired rifle. So a person can start out with the low end gun then every birthday, Christmas or fathers day get one of the upgrades and eventually have a custom gun. You can start using it from day one and any time along the way. Its kind of the way we live our lives with most stuff. A little here and a little there to get to where you want to be.

Enjoy!!

SBR - 375 SOCOM - 185 gr Controlled Fracturing

Hey guys! In this installment of our Practical Hunting Ballistics series we test out the SBR ammunition 185 gr Controlled Fracturing round. Here we'll show you accuracy, penetration, and terminal ballistics

I gotta say we did not expect anything super great out of this round but afterwards it turns out to be one of our favorites. Not only does it expand causing significant damage but it also achieves deep penetration due to the high velocity. The more of these tests we do the more we learn.

Enjoy!!

Hey guys! Thanks for stopping by. In this video we have some fun with the Big Horn Armory Model 89 Spike Driver! This is an awesome lever gun chambered for the massive 500 S&W. The finish on this rifle is amazing. The balance is amazing. Its a blast to shoot.

No meat tests/ballistics. Just out having a little fun plinking steal. :D

Hey guys thought I would share some of my sons photographs of this awesome rifle! Its a Big Horn Armory Model 89 Spike driver chambered in 500 S&W. Kicks like a mule but lots of fun to shoot. The fit and finish on these guns is amazing. Very well balanced as well. We have not yet sighted the scope in, just got it yesterday. We will likely do a video on it and see if it can handle the recoil of that monster gun. If so I will post it here some time in the coming days. Not an expensive scope at all but it should be sufficient for the short range use we would need it for. Enjoy!!96239662_231350944953525_3098409331687686144_n.jpg96300320_2701615496735397_237892805391810560_n.jpg96399842_1540781659428513_8921842238636425216_n.jpg96440307_2666448493625055_6512360096612220928_n.jpg96535074_1115327705511042_5238922161866932224_n.jpg96539072_258825821971800_1387689467887747072_n.jpg

The scope has a 3.9" eye relief. It is mounted way too far forward, your cheek will be up on the hammer spur. The stock was not made for a scope. Proper cheek weld on that stock will align your eye to the iron sights.

Actually its a scout scope designed specifically for this type application with a 9.5" eye relief. I have to say it does an amazing job for the cost as far as being able to see through it. We shall see how it holds up under the strain of that 500 S&W. Hopefully very soon and I will post the results here.

Hey guys! Thanks for stopping by. This is the third installment in our “Budget Brush Gun Project”. Here we are taking a basic Marlin 336W, upgrading the components, and smoothing the action. We will follow the entire process here. Enjoy!!

We are calling it a Budget Brush gun because you can do each of these upgrades over time as your budget allows and end up with a gun that would have cost much more had you purchased one done by the manufacturers custom shop.

Hey guys, Ranger Point Precision has released a new modular handguard for Marlin lever action rifles. Gotta say this thing is awesome!! Very well thought out design. Great fit and finish. Fits like a glove. About $168.

Below is a picture I took of Brian, my son with the new hand guard installed and then a video showing the installation.

Hey guys! Thanks for stopping by. In this video we compare a factory Remington 700 stock to a precision rifle chassis. The chassis we have chosen is the MDT ESS Chassis. A HUGE thank you to Big Daddy Unlimited for supplying the ammunition for this shoot!

Hey guys! Thanks for stopping by. In today’s video we take a look at the Thompson Center Compass II chambered in 65. Creedmoor. It looks like this could be an excellent budget hunting rifle. Stick around as we test it out in the future!

Just looked at this post I "Quoted" and realized that the "65" was actually supposed to be "6.5". Sorry for the brain fart, lol. To late to edit it so this is the best I could do.

Its a tiny bullet compared to many but man does it pack a punch at those high speeds! We were skeptical but fell in love with it once we saw its performance.

Wish you’d have a look at creedmoor 6.5 prc
It may happen some time in the future. We have a bunch of things in the works and have a few companies that want to partner with us. If all goes as planned we will be rocking and rolling in gun videos and photos soon. We give honest opinions and feedback.

Hey guys! In today's video we look at the effectiveness of a 1oz 12 gauge slug for self-defense. Pretty serious round here.

Look at approximately time of 0.16 to see the actual slug deformation of the second slug fired after we shoot and retrieve it and again at 5:58. Pretty amazing how it ended up looking.

With all that’s going on, knowing what different self-defense loads will actually do is a good idea so you can be better prepared when deciding what to have for a “bump in the night”, concealed carry, or truck gun to defend yourself and your family. So, we’ve started doing some testing. First up,
Mossberg 590A1 SPX loaded with the Federal Premium 1oz Truball Slug. Hope you guys enjoy!
