Canning Mirro M-0512

I scored a Mirro M-0512 12qt pressure cooker/canner made in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. I think it says 10/80 as when it was built.
Any place I can find spare parts for this thing? How long do seals and things last?
I'm excited to try canning and pressure canning now but I want to do it safely, any tips will be appreciated.

I think you could use Presto seals if you can find the right one to fit. IIRC, most parts are interchangeable. I can get spare parts at my local Ace hardware. I would encourage you to take it to your local county extension and have it pressure tested to be sure it works correctly and that the pressures are accurate. My seals would last from 2-5 years depending on how much canning I was doing.

Congratulations on the find!

I get my Mirro seals at Ace. CHeck because I believe Mirro switched gaskets in the mid 80s.
THis site will list your gasket:

You may also want to replace your overpressure plug. Make sure your vent is clear as well. It is a weighted gauge so it wont need calibrating. Also with the old gasket I always use a little veg oil on it to help it seal.
