GOV/MIL Minsk: something happening there

They're shocked that Lukashenko got so much of the popular vote-over 80% last time I checked. Clearly a rigged election probably helped by the Russians.

Lukashenko is tied to the hip with Putin; Belarus is essentially a vassal state of Russia. People are fed up with it and his strong arm dictatorship.

Belarus police crack down on mass protests against strongman president after election

MINSK (Reuters) - Belarus police fired water cannons, tear gas and stun grenades in a crackdown on protests that erupted on Sunday as President Alexander Lukashenko was set to claim another election win in the face of the biggest challenge in years to his grip on power.
Thousands of people took to the streets of Minsk while protesters clapped, shouted "victory", waved flags and honked car horns in solidarity with the opposition. Some built barricades with garbage cans, RIA news agency reported.
Helmeted police blocked off streets and at least 10 people were detained in one spot in Minsk, a Reuters witness said, while local media reported detentions and clashes between police and protesters in other cities.

A police prisoner transport van hit a crowd of people in the capital, witnesses said, but there were no immediate details of casualties. The authorities said they had no reports of any injuries from the protests.
A former Soviet collective farm manager, the authoritarian Lukashenko has ruled the country since 1994 but has battled a wave of anger over his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, the economy and his human rights record.
State-approved exit polls showed him winning 79.7% of the vote while his main opponent Svetlana Tikhanouskaya, a former English teacher who emerged from obscurity a few weeks ago to lead rallies against him, received 6.8%.
Tikhanouskaya entered the race after her husband, an anti-government blogger who intended to run, was jailed.
Foreign observers have not judged an election to be free and fair in Belarus since 1995.
"I hope that law enforcement officials will come to their senses and switch to the people's side, then the night in Minsk will end without blood," said Veronika Tsepkalo, the wife of a barred candidate who threw her support behind Tikhanouskaya.
A harsh response to new protests could hurt Lukashenko's attempts to mend fences with the West amid fraying ties with traditional ally Russia, which has tried to press Belarus into closer economic and political union.
Tikhanouskaya's rallies have drawn some of the biggest crowds since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, and on Sunday she arrived at a polling station with hundreds of supporters chanting her name

"brace yourself" are we looking into a mirror of things to come here

Bright Blessings, danielboon,

There is a cosmic style reset coming, not the idiocy of Hillary Clinton with her "RESET" button, but a balancing of all that lives on and within Mother Earth. What comes will be cataclysmic, undeniable, and permanent. It will be brutal, and highly unlikely to be prepared for...

I wish all here, and all that are theirs, Life's Bess...

Blessed Be,

But what is the truth? Who benefits from the protest? Who benefits from the "landslide" election?
This is the old centralized government control meeting the new people want their real votes to count.

The old is also a Russia asset needed to anchor against losing another satellite from firm absolute Russian control. The stakes are monumental so the full weight of the state and Putins henchman will be brought with absolute ruthlessness.

This is the centralized power that leaders who control the democratic party want for us.

Supported by Putin.

This is in our future when Trump wins.

No, Ma'am. Biden and the Democrats herald chaos, which leads to disaster, culminating in tyranny, slavery, and death. Although Trump may not be perfect, there are no others who can run against him, that represent what America used to be- before the Swamp came into prominence. He has been forced to fight so many enemies, simultaneously, that any other, would have faltered, fallen, and succumbed. If you want freedom, Trump is the ONLY candidate...

And where is the U.N. condemnation, like when they condemned Trump?
Bbwwwaaaa.

Oh boy, that’s a good one.
Where is the UN like it wasn’t all but about 6 countries stacked against us.

Ever since the one world government types totally screwed Europe with the EU, or commie light we really stand almost alone.

Enemy’s both outside and inside it looks a lot like the game of thrones 2020 edition. All we need is England to host a wedding for the US President‘s son and we’ve gone full Fiction into life.

Yup, they've been going for a day or so now. Haven't had the energy to post about that on top of Portland and Beirut.
Seeker had addressed it in the W.o.W. thread
