JUST IN: Memphis police officer Joseph McKinney shot and killed in Memphis, Tennessee during a shootout with teens.

The incident happened at 2am when police officers say they were shot at by teens inside a car.

It gets even more infuriating: One teen involved in the shootout, who was also killed, was arrested by the police back in March.

He was found in a stolen vehicle with "an illegal modified semi-automatic weapon with a Glock switch attached" making it fully automatic.

He was also charged for stealing two other vehicles. He was released at the time without bond. Joseph McKinney should be alive.

She is using her cell phone as a teleprompter. I guess people can't speak from the heart anymore. Very sad for the officers family. The system set him up to die.

Yep, teens. The newest standard for the “N” word. Can’t say Amish youth anymore. Nope. Teens. And a Black Female Poolice Chief who has managed to lose some of the dialect.

And the Judge that set this “teen” MURDERING THUG free?
And the DA who didn’t demand at least bail?
They will continue to draw their six figure salaries and not give it another thought if there was any thought in the first place.
And why are these “teens” still using oxygen??????????

The cop that died looks very feminine.... maybe just a bad photo.

Nota Bena there John Law... yet another cop killed by the very vermin you keep safe from their victims..... switched glock.... hoodrats.... released without bond and very likely on probation/parole.... who could have seen this coming?

Sure would be nice to do something about this vermin infestation but alas John Law would rather wear his super hero costume, jerk off to the Gall's catalog and hunt "vigilantes" than actually do the needful to improve the lives of decent people!

This happened in a really dangerous part of town.

And at 2 am.

I realize the zookeepers (cops) have to go into that neighborhood in the wee hours of the morning, but no way I would be on Hewlett Street in southwest Memafrica at 2 am in the morning.

Trouble hunting a place to happen…

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A Memphis police officer and an 18-year-old were killed after gunfire erupted in Whitehaven early Friday, police said.

Memphis Police Officer Joseph McKinney died after being shot in Whitehaven on Friday, April 12, 2024, according to the Memphis Police Department.
Interim Memphis Police Chief C.J. Davis identified the officer killed as Joseph McKinney, who joined the department in 2020 and was assigned to Raines Station. She said a second officer was in non-critical condition at Regional One Health.

McKinney was a 2016 graduate of Munford High School and a Munford Band member, according to Munford High School.

A third officer was grazed by a bullet during the shooting and treated at the scene, police said.

"We have a wife that’s grieving now," Davis said. "We have the family of the suspects that are grieving now.”

MPD said that the suspects were identified as an 18-year-old and 17-year-old. The 18-year-old died in the shooting, police said.

Police also said the 18-year-old was arrested in March with a Glock switch, charged with stealing two cars before being released without bond.

Police said the officers were shot at when they approached a suspicious car around 2 a.m. Friday, April 12, at Horn Lake Road and Charter Avenue. They returned fire, striking the two suspects, police said.

FOX13 arrived to the scene and found a car riddled with bullet holes.

One of the suspects was immediately arrested, while the other ran off but was later caught nearby, MPD said.

MPD said the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is investigating the shooting and the Shelby County District Attorney's Office was contacted.

All lanes of traffic at Shelby Drive and Horn Lake Road were blocked for the investigation, police said.

Ofc. McKinney is the first Memphis officer killed in the line of duty since Ofc. Geoffrey Redd was shot and killed at the Poplar-White Station Library in East Memphis on Feb. 18, 2023.

Before she spoke to the media Friday morning, Chief Davis took a breath and said she and her department were "hurting."

“The men and women of the Memphis Police Department are hurt right now," she said. "As chief of police, I am hurt right now. Once again, senseless deaths in our community by gun violence.”

What a misleading headline. Gunfire didn't "erupt". That is just another example of pushing the narrative that guns just do this all on their own. Hoods started shooting at cops. That's what happened. And the police officer was killed. The 18 year old died when he shot at police at police returned fire.

But from my read of the story, there is one party clearly to blame - Glock. They just make their guns so easy to modify that youths can't help themselves. And then when they modify their guns, they have to test them somehow, right? All blame is on Glock. Sue them out of business and these problems would cease.

Because John Law won't allow that to happen.... he is nothing more than Praetorian guard and game warden mixed into one! John Law has very strong opinions about poaching the vermin....

Stop feeling sorry for 'ol John Law when his pets smoke his ass.... he is a slow learner but he will eventually see the light!

"Memphis police officer killed in shootout with negro teens"

Female pedestrian assaulted by male neuro In downtown New York city"

"Multiple innocent bystanders killed and injured when 2 or more groups of male negros start a gunfight in crowd of people leaving major league sports game"

"67 year old white woman raped and assaulted by 45 year old male negro..."

"Young white girl clinging to life after being brutally assaulted by much larger than her female negro"

"Multiple cases of random assaults by negros against whites and Asians on city streets"

"Negros demand reparations from evil white people for shit their own people did and do to them...
"

It seems like there is a pattern, but I cant quite make it out...

Yes, all shades of people do bad things.

Maybe we should have honest reporting In all cases so that the public can see the patterns and places.

Local SJW DA must be getting heat as he said today proceeding against the surviving thug would be Federal.

Question: is it common to have bail set by a "commissioner"?
I was under the impression a judge always set bail/conditions/restrictions or this peculiar to TN only?
