Celestial Mars: was it once a viable ecosystem?

For some time I have wondered if Mars was once able to sustain life. So I am throwing this out to you all. I know that many of you have vast kowledge in so many different areas.
My Question: Is there any eveidence that Mars was once like earth? lush and green and inhabited?

thanks for your help

Evidence is a word. It has meaning. It is not theory. And we have seen in criminal cases that "eye witness" testimony is often inaccurate. Most of our "evidence" from Mars is visual and as such is not very accurate.

The remaining scientific data and analysis is extremely limited. Consider our planet, where we have the ability to take measurements, collect data, and conduct analysis and yet with all of this data we cannot predict the weather next week and know very as "scientific knowledge" what the climate of the past was.

There are a few things that can be known. First, space is cold. Stars, like the Sun create heat and large planets like Saturn also generate heat. The distance a planet is from a star determines its temperature. We know that the temperature of Mars is equivalent to the temperature of Antarctica. Antarctica is not green. it is not lush. it is inhabited by a very limited population of creatures and most of these are seasonal.

I would not expect more from Mars in the Past.

Wikipedia is your friend and Raven Antarctica is not devoid of life there are several plants that do grow there as well as fungal organisms, it all depends on where you visit on the continent.

Maybe, but that was not the question.
The question was . . . Evidence . . . Is there evidence . . . that Mars was once like Earth . . . lush and green and inhabited?

And the answer is still NO. There is no evidence
There is no evidence that Mars was ever lush, green and inhabited
You can play all the word games you want - the man/woman asked a straight forward question and deserves a straight answer.
The is no evidence that Mars was like earth - and based on it position in the solar system and distance from the sun - it never was.

For some time I have wondered if Mars was once able to sustain life. So I am throwing this out to you all. I know that many of you have vast kowledge in so many different areas.

Read Brandenburg's book. Life on Mars, or some such title. This guy is not some idle science journalist. You can also find some YT interviews with him. (Haven't watched those) Read, and decide for yourself. I'm not debating the issue with a bunch of people who haven't read the book.

Odd “Whack Job” given his Science is all too solid, plus neither NASA, JPL or the Pentagon employ distinguished Plasma Physicist Researchers who happened to discover the Frozen Northern Ocean on Mars plus so many other things about Mars, such as the classic residues from thermonuclear detonations that were pointed out to him what they were, by nuclear weapon designers at the laboratory where he was working. Some nut job eh? The only matter with which I personally may have an issue with Dr Brandenberg, is the Timing of what was done to Mars, and the destruction of the Planet beyond Mars, that Mars might have been a Moon of. Something really doesn’t add up.Nuclear Decay rates as published, point to Mars being Nuked about 250 million years ago? Yet the Destroyed Planet That is now the Asteroid Belt, has Asteroid Trajectories and velocities confirming that planet destruction happened between 10 & 20 thousand years ago. Being so relatively recent historically, could be a good reason for someone saying “Let’s say it’s about 250 million years ago so people don’t freak out “ or, there is something seriously wrong with the nuclear decay rates that we literally set our clocks by. That said, there is something far from right with Carbon 14 dating, and if we can even get how evolution works 180 degrees wrong, I’m not prepared to put my money on anything other than Mars having had an Earth type flourishing eco system for probably billions of years. The big clue is in why it is the Red Planet, and that doesn’t take Rocket Science or Nuclear Physics. That’s just basic Geology.
PS. By the way, all of us owe Dr John Brandenberg a massive debt of gratitude for his stunning Research work on the mechanisms of atmosphere, all from Mars Atmosphere observations, that have clearly demonstrated the importance of having enough CO2 in the atmosphere to drive efficient Photosynthesis to provide a stable Climate. The takeaway from which, is that Earth’s Atmosphere is dangerously low in CO2 for when Cooling really kicks in.
other clues on Mars include former freshwater lakes that rovers have been inspecting clays left behind, freshwater Glaciers still there, and the ruins of cities that were on the southern shores of that Northern Ocean, plus the very deep layers of sedimentary rock deposits. Isn’t an individual who ignores such hard evidence the Real “Nut Job”?

Sparky. You missed what I was saying. I was pointing out that the guy who is dissing DR B is the Nut Job. I accept your apology.
