Making your own herbal capsules

Is it possible to buy the botanical herbs in bulk and then put them into capsules yourself for medicinal purposes? Browsing through this website http://www.atlanticspice.com/cart/webstore/Product_Layout2.asp?Category=Botanicals
one could make a very large amount of capsules when they are sold in a bulk of 1 lb. That would save a person a lot of money. It would also come in handy in the winter months when you don't have room to grow your herbs indoors.

Also where is a good place to buy Grapefruit Seed Extract? I noticed it wasn't available through Atlantic Spice.

I've ordered from Atlantic Spice many times, and have the capsules they sell. That's what my friends and I do - buy their capsules and herbs and do it ourselves. No problem. Great prices and timely service. Good product too. Never had a problem with them.

Edited to add: I have the Cap'Em Quick (or whatever the official name is) that Atlantic sells. It works fine although someone I know found one somewhere else that did better.

Yep- I make about 5000 a year with the Cap M Quik from Atlantic Spice. MSM, tumeric (hubby takes it as an anti-inflammatory painkiller for occasional arthritis flares), skullcap, licorice.

Works great- not real fast, but I can do 500 or so at a time before I start going crazy.

You want the larger size for almost everything. That's the 00 size. Bulk herbs aren't very concentrated, in general, and the smaller size caps just mean you need to take a lot more of them. But if you've got someone in the family who can't swallow larger pills, you can use the smaller ones- and take more!

You'll want to be aware that some herbs need to be run through a Vitamix or blender or food processor- something that will powder them up better, so they fit in the capsules easily. Stiff stem pieces really make the process harder than it needs to be.
