Apple Meatloaf
1 lb Lean Ground Beef
1 x Apple, cored and chopped (whatever you have on hand)
1 x Med Onion, chopped
1/8 ts Pepper
1/2 ts Garlic Salt
1 or 2 slices of Bread
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine all ingredients except bread. Soak bread in cold water, squeeze out moisture, shred, and add. Place in loaf pan and bake 25-30 minutes. Or...form into patties, roll in bread crumbs and pan fry, or broil.
NOTE: I've been known to grate apples and carrots into ground beef, or use refried beans as well, in order to make that measly one pound of sales hamburger feed a family of seven. Been years but with things going the way they are, I'm pulling out those old recipes and seeing if they are still digestible.
