CAMERON, Texas (KBTX) - A train and an 18-wheeler truck have collided on FM 2095 in Cameron, causing a large explosion and fire.

According to Milam County Judge Steve Young, the crash happened before 7 a.m. Several agencies are on the scene, as tank cars are overturned and inflamed.

Authorities evacuated the area around a crash between an 18-wheeler and a train.

Judge Young says the 18-wheeler hit the train, causing 14 train cars to derail; however, the driver of the 18-wheeler survived. According to radio station KMIL, there were no injuries.

The petroleum in the tank cars is burning. Young says there are no hazmat issues.

Homes in the area are being evacuated, says Young. KMIL reports that the evacuations are a precaution.

You're right. Flammable and nonflammable are the opposites. Merriam-Webster explains why:

Definition of INFLAMMABLE

ETA: I hereby resolve to avoid the use of inflammable from now on as it just goes against the grain of normal usage for no apparent benefit. This is one thing the government seems to have done correctly; in the regulations for infant pajamas regarding flammability, they appear to avoid the use of "inflammable" and instead use the phrase "highly flammable".

I can't believe the person in that video kept driving towards the fire. At least he stopped when the BLVE went off. Duh? Hello!

As young adults, I can remember me and my buddies jumping in our cars to go gawking at fires. train derailments, and other calamities.

After 9/11, that should have stopped real fast. Who knows what kind of event is in progress, who initiated it, and what sort of chem/bio/nuke agents are in play. Now, if one sees a huge smoke plume, just turn around and get out of there, pronto.
