I'm trying to find out, but no joy so far. The Demoncrats fell 10 votes short, since they needed 67 total and only got 57. However, they had some RINO slippage since the first vote was 45 to 55, and the actual vote was two additional rinos.

The 5 were Mittens Romney of Utah, Sase, of Nebraska, Murkoski of Alaska, Collins of Maine, Toomey of Pennsylvania, Cassidy of Louisiana, and Burr of ?

Shithead Schumer just incited that the court public opinion will help to take Trump down and stop him from ever taking public office again. That justice will be carried forward by the American people against Trump.

Why isn’t he being impeached for inciting violence against a former president? This is so lopsided it’s not funny. It’s ok for them to call for violence ... what gives.

Trump should sue the left for slander

"A Sad Commentary On Our Times": Trump Slams Democrats After Second Senate Acquittal
BY TYLER DURDEN
SATURDAY, FEB 13, 2021 - 15:48
Update (1605ET): Former President Trump has issued the following statement following his Senate acquittal (emphasis ours):
* * *

I want to first thank my team of dedicated lawyers and others for their tireless work upholding justice and defending truth.

My deepest thanks as well to all of the United States Senators and Members of Congress who stood proudly for the Constitution we all revere and for the sacred legal principles at the heart of our country.

Our cherished Constitutional Republic was founded on the impartial rule of law, the indispensable safeguard for our liberties, our rights and our freedoms.

It is a sad commentary on our times that one political party in America is given a free pass to denigrate the rule of law, defame law enforcement, cheer mobs, excuse rioters, and transform justice into a tool of political vengeance, and persecute, blacklist, cancel and suppress all people and viewpoints with whom or which they disagree. I always have, and always will, be a champion for the unwavering rule of law, the heroes of law enforcement, and the right of Americans to peacefully and honorably debate the issues of the day without malice and without hate.

This has been yet another phase of the greatest witch hunt in the history of our Country. No president has ever gone through anything like it, and it continues because our opponents cannot forget the almost 75 million people, the highest number ever for a sitting president, who voted for us just a few short months ago.

I also want to convey my gratitude to the millions of decent, hardworking, law-abiding, God-and-Country loving citizens who have bravely supported these important principles in these very difficult and challenging times.

Our historic, patriotic and beautiful movement to Make America Great Again has only just begun. In the months ahead I have much to share with you, and I look forward to continuing our incredible journey together to achieve American greatness for all of our people. There has never been anything like it!

We have so much work ahead of us, and soon we will emerge with a vision for a bright, radiant, and limitless American future.

Together there is nothing we cannot accomplish.

We remain one People, one family, and one glorious nation under God, and it's our responsibility to preserve this magnificent inheritance for our children and for generations of Americans to come.

May God bless all of you, and may God forever bless the United States of America.

Former President Donald Trump has released a statement following his acquittal on an article of impeachment for “incitement of insurrection.”

Trump was found not guilty on Saturday.

“I want to first thank my team of dedicated lawyers and others for their tireless work upholding justice and defending truth,” the statement began. “My deepest thanks as well to all of the United States Senators and Members of Congress who stood proudly for the Constitution we all revere and for the sacred legal principals at the heart of our country.”

The statement continued on to say that “our cherished Constitutional Republic was founded on the impartial rule of law, the indispensable safeguard for our liberties, our rights and our freedoms.”

“It is a sad commentary on our times that one political party in America is given a free pass to denigrate the rule of law, defame law enforcement, cheer mobs, excuse rioters, and transform justice into a tool of political vengeance, and persecute, blacklist, cancel and suppress all people and viewpoints with whom or which they disagree. I always have, and always will, be a champion for the unwavering rule of law, the heroes of law enforcement, and the right of Americans to peacefully and honorably debate the issues of the day without malice and without hate.”

Trump stated that “this has been another phase of the greatest witch hunt in the history of our Country.” He noted that no other president has gone through similar.

The statement concluded that the movement to Make America Great Again is just beginning and that he “has so much to share with you” in the coming months.

Clearly Trump is guilty of whatever the left says he is guilty of, its plain to see the majority of senators convicted him but our unfair system of 2/3 requirement for conviction let Trump's co-conspirators derail justus and pervert our democracy blah blah blah the whining will never end until they have murdered Trump and anyone who ever supported him.

The good news in all of that is once we are gone they will begin murdering each other over a perceived lack of purity.

Has there ever been a communist government instituted anywhere in the world that was not ushered in with violence and bloodshed?

Oh and what an honor to be witness to Amerika's first communist show trial.

WATCH: Michigan Senate Majority Leader Says Capitol Takeover Was ‘Staged’ and a ‘Hoax’ in Secretly Recorded Convo

By Cassandra Fairbanks

Michigan State Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey was caught on camera telling officials from the Hillsdale County Republican Party that the Capitol takeover was “staged” and a “hoax.”

“It was all staged,” Shirkey says during the secretly recorded lunch meeting on Feb. 3.
In the footage, which is over an hour long, Shirkey also says that Mitch McConnell “was part of it… They wanted to have a mess” so that they could impeach Donald Trump.

The video was posted on YouTube by Hillsdale County Republican Party Secretary Jon Smith, who is upset with Shirkey for repeatedly caving to Democrats.

During the conversation, Shirkey says that the January 6 protest “wasn’t Trump people.”
“That’s been a hoax from day one, that was all pre-arranged,” Shirkey adds, asserting that the people “went in on separate buses, that was all arranged by somebody that was funding everyone.”

“Why wasn’t there more security? It was ridiculous, it was all staged,” he continued.

Shirkey issued an apology for his comments in a statement released on Tuesday.

“I said some things in a videoed conversation that are not fitting for the role I am privileged to serve,” the statement said. “I own that. I have many flaws. Being passionate coupled with an occasional lapse in restraint of tongue are at least two of them.”

In a subsequent statement, Shirkey added that “I frankly don’t take back any of the points I was trying to make.”

“Some of the words I chose I do regret,” he said.

The Hillsdale County Republican Party voted voted 14-5 to censure Shirkey on Monday for not standing up to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on lockdowns and supporting a ban on the open carrying firearms at the state Capitol “when no violent attack with firearms has ever taken place.”

The party is also upset with Shirkey for calling armed protesters who stormed the state Capitol in April “a bunch of jackasses.”

Here’s Why the Democrats Didn’t Want Trump’s Legal Team to Call in Pelosi to Testify in Sham Impeachment Trial

By Cristina Laila
Published February 13, 2021 at 2:20pm

The House impeachment managers folded Saturday morning and backed off witnesses after Trump’s legal team announced that Speaker Pelosi would be called in to testify.

The Democrats went straight to closing arguments because they have no case and they wanted to protect Nancy Pelosi.

The reason why the Democrats didn’t want Pelosi to testify is because she knew about the planned attack on the Capitol beforehand.

The FBI, NYPD and USCP had prior knowledge of plans for violence at the US Capitol, including intel threatening murder of police officers.

If this was a planned attack, you can’t accuse the President of inciting a spontaneous attack when it was planned days before.

Investigative reporter John Solomon filed a FOIA request for records related to the DC police’s probe of the siege of the Capitol.

John Solomon dropped a bombshell last month and said the DC police rejected his FOIA request for records pertaining to their investigation of the siege of the U.S. Capitol.

The DC police said release of the records would be ‘personally embarrassing’ and privacy invading to release the documents.

“We’re gonna fight for those documents but something tells me what’s in those documents has some very very big relevance to what happened on The Hill and the question I have is what did Nancy Pelosi know, what did Mitch McConnell know about these threats beforehand,” John Solomon told former Missouri Governor Eric Greitens.

John Solomon explained that the Sergeant at Arms is constantly communicating with the Speaker of House so Pelosi must have known about the threats days before the Capitol riot.
The question is, what did Pelosi know?

Pelosi knew the attack was pre-planned and possibly had intel that many of the attackers were far left insurgency groups.

Pelosi, Bowser and Mitch McConnell also refused increases security on January 6th for the US Capitol.

Trump-McCarthy phone call would be ‘enormously important’ in establishing ‘state of mind’: Matt Bennett

Fox News contributor Jason Chaffetz and Third Way co-founder Matt Bennett discuss the latest developments in the Trump impeachment trial.

Former President Donald Trump on Saturday thanked his lawyers and senators who voted against his impeachment conviction and foreshadowed his political future in a statement following the 57-43 Senate vote to acquit him of inciting an insurrection.

"I want to first thank my team of dedicated lawyers and others for their tireless work upholding justice and defending truth," Trump said. "My deepest thanks as well to all of the United States Senators and Members of Congress who stood proudly for the Constitution we all revere and for the sacred legal principles at the heart of our country."

He added: "This has been yet another phase of the greatest witch hunt in the history of our Country. No president has ever gone through anything like it, and it continues because our opponents cannot forget the almost 75 million people, the highest number ever for a sitting president, who voted for us just a few short months ago."

Trump did not make any statements during the impeachment trial, and his statement Saturday is his first all week.

The vote Saturday was significantly more votes than the 48-52 vote in his 2020 Senate trial but still 10 short of what would have been needed to convict.

Trump also foreshadowed his political future.

"Our historic, patriotic and beautiful movement to Make America Great Again has only just begun," he said. "In the months ahead I have much to share with you, and I look forward to continuing our incredible journey together to achieve American greatness for all of our people.

There has never been anything like it!"

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.

Trump team trolls Democrats with clips of repeated vows to ‘fight’

By Ebony Bowden
February 12, 2021 | 2:15pm | Updated

WASHINGTON — Former President Donald Trump’s lawyers turned the tables on House impeachment managers on Friday, trolling them with footage of Democrats over and over vowing to “fight” or “fight back” against Trump and Republicans to highlight their alleged “hypocrisy.”

Impeachment managers used a series of CCTV videos of the Jan. 6 riot to show just how close pro-Trump marauders came to lawmakers and clips of Trump’s speeches to allege he had a history of encouraging violence.

But the former president’s counsel came right back at them during their first day of arguments on Friday, accusing them of selectively quoting the former president.

One lengthy video featured Vice President Kamala Harris, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and countless other Democrats using the word “fight.” The video also featured most of the Democratic impeachment managers who are prosecuting the case that Trump incited the violent insurrection.

Once the video finished, lawyer David Schoen pointed at both the senators and the impeachment managers and told them to “stop the hypocrisy.”

Michael van der Veen, an attorney for Donald Trump, speaks during the former president’s second impeachment trial.AP

They also played the full clip of a 2017 press conference where Trump said there were “very fine people on both sides” of the deadly Charlottesville rally.

“I’m not talking about neo-Nazis and the white nationalists because they should be condemned totally,” Trump told reporters at the time. “But you had many people in that group, other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists.”

Said lawyer David Shoen: “This might be today the first time the news networks play those remarks in their context,” referring to Trump’s comments also condemning the latter two groups several times, which are often left out of the sound bite.

Acknowledging that current political rhetoric had gone too far, the former president’s legal team also played a brutal montage showing leading Democrats, liberal TV network anchors and celebrities vowing to “blow up the White House” or “put a bullet” in Trump’s head.

“If I were in high school, I would take him behind the gym and punch the hell out of him,” then-nominee Joe Biden said of Trump in several clips from the campaign trail.

Vice President Kamala Harris is seen laughing with Ellen DeGeneres as they joke about her killing Trump or Mike Pence if they were put in the same elevator.via C-SPAN

In another, 2018 video, then-Sen. Harris can be seen giggling with TV host Ellen DeGeneres, who asked if she would rather be stuck in an elevator with Trump, then-Vice President Mike Pence or then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

“Does one of us have to come out alive?” Harris asked, before they both exploded with laughter.

In another minutes-long montage, dozens of Democratic senators are seen telling their supporters to “fight” ad nauseam.

Trump’s lawyers argued that while he told his supporters to “fight like hell” at a rally before the siege, he never incited them to attack the Capitol.

“That’s OK, you didn’t do anything wrong. It’s a word people use,” defense lawyer Michael van der Veen told Democrats, “but please stop the hypocrisy.”

“These are the metaphorical, rhetorical uses of the word ‘fight.’ We all know that, right? Suddenly the word ‘fight’ is off limits,” he continued.

“Spare us the hypocrisy and false indignation. It’s a term used over and over and over again by politicians on both sides of the aisle.”

The lawyers followed that with additional videos of Democrats praising protests after the death of George Floyd in Minnesota last year and also challenging the elections of previous Republican presidents.

In one video, Harris tells talk show host Stephen Colbert of the violent protests: “They’re not going to let up and they should not.”

Trump’s supporters attacked the Capitol after he falsely said for months that the presidential election was stolen.

Elizabeth Warren was featured in the video played by Donald Trump’s legal team during the impeachment trial.via C-SPAN

“The reality is Mr. Trump was not in any way, shape or form instructing these people to fight, or to use physical violence,” van der Veen said.

“What he was instructing them to do was to challenge their opponents in primary elections, to push for sweeping election reforms, to hold big tech responsible,” he said.

It’s expected that the president’s legal team will only use four of the 16 hours allotted to them to present their case on Friday, meaning a final vote to convict or acquit Trump may come as soon as this weekend.

Democrats need 17 Republicans to cross the aisle and vote with them to meet the two-thirds majority needed to convict Trump, but it seems almost certain that the former president will be acquitted for a second time.

Update (1542ET): To absolutely no one's surprise he Senate has acquitted former President Trump of incitement with a final vote of 57-43, with seven Republicans breaking ranks to vote with the Democrats.

This marks the second time in twelve months that Trump has survived impeachment.

* * *
Update (1300ET): After a couple of hours of 'negotiations' during which Sen. Cruz threatened to subpoena Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Trump's lawyers said they would call "100s of witnesses", a deal has been reached that means no witnesses will be called.

House impeachment managers dropped their request to obtain testimony from Representative Jaime Herrera Beutler after senators agreed instead to enter into the record an account of her secondhand account of a phone call between Trump and House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy.

This agreement has averted the prospect of an avalanche of requests for testimony from both sides that would have extended the impeachment trial beyond its expected conclusion later today (and perhaps delayed any attempts at reaching a stimulus agreement).

As a reminder, Senator Lindsey Graham, who has been advising Trump's legal team, said that if the Senate agrees to the request by House impeachment managers to depose Herrera Beutler, he’ll insist on “multiple witnesses”...starting with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

He said she should be required “to answer the question as to whether or not there was credible evidence of pre-planned violence before President Trump spoke? Whether Speaker Pelosi, due to optics, refused requests by the Capitol Hill Police for additional resources like the National Guard?”

* * *
Just when you thought Donald Trump's second impeachment trials was over, five Republicans have joined their Democratic colleagues in a Saturday morning vote (55-45) to call witnesses - an unexpected development in this snap impeachment over Trump's alleged role inciting the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

GOP Sens. Collins, Graham, Murkowski, Romney and Sasse were the five.

The move - which was originally opposed by several Democrats, will allow them to strengthen their case. It is unclear what kind of delay this may cause, after impeachment managers and Trump's defense team estimated it would be over on Saturday.

In response to the vote, Trump attorney Michael van der Veen answered that if witnesses are going to be called, "I’m going to need more than 100 witnesses, not just one," adding "we should close this case out today," but if that doesn't happen, "Do not handcuff me by limiting the number of witnesses I can have."

Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren suggested that a debate on the number of witnesses should not take place, saying "I don’t think there’s any limit right now, and that’s part of what will be debated."

As Axios notes, Trump himself is Democrats' most desired witness, however the former president has already quashed that - saying he would not comply willingly. The Senate could subpoena him, however it's unclear whether they would have enough support.

Instead, Democrats plan to call GOP Rep. Jamie Herrera Butler of Washington, who the NY Times reported on Friday said Trump 'sided with the mob' during a phone call as the attack was unfolding. Herrera Butler, who voted to impeach Trump in the House, was requested to testify by House impeachment manager Jamie Raskin.

In a statement on Friday night, Representative Jaime Herrera Beutler, Republican of Washington, recounted a phone call relayed to her by Mr. McCarthy of California, the minority leader, in which Mr. Trump was said to have sided with the rioters, telling the top House Republican that members of the mob who had stormed the Capitol were “more upset about the election than you are.”
She pleaded with witnesses to step forward and share what they knew about Mr. Trump’s actions and statements as the attack was underway. -NY Times
"To the patriots who were standing next to the former president as these conversations were happening, or even to the former vice president: if you have something to add here, now would be the time," said Herrera Beutler in a statement.

According to her account, McCarthy 'frantically' called Trump on Jan. 6 and asked him to "publicly and forcefully call off the riot," and that Trump replied that it was Antifa, not his supporters, who were responsible. When McCarthy pushed back saying that wasn't true, Trump allegedly said "Well, Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are."

Senate Democrats who initially opposed witnesses include Kristen Gillibrand of NY, who said on Thursday: "We've heard from many witnesses based on their interviews and their video presentations, so, I feel like we've heard from enough witnesses." Sen. Angus King of Maine said "I think the case has been made. I don’t know what witnesses would add."

Once witnesses have testified, impeachment managers and Trump's defense team will present closing arguments - with each side allotted two hours. A full vote on whether to convict or acquit will follow.

To that end, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has told his fellow Senate GOP in an email that he will vote to acquit the former president - writing "As I have said for some time, today's vote is a vote of conscience and I know we will all treat it as such," according to Politico's Burgess Everett.
