A Scared Nu World: Here's What We Know About The COVID "Omicron" Strain

Summarizing of our post from last might (which we urge everyone to read) for those who are just now waking up to the global chaos resulting from the B.1.1.529 variant, which today got the Greek letter designation Omicron...
... skipping the widely expected letter Nu (and certainly the one following it, Xi), here is what we know, courtesy of Newsquawk, Credit Suisse and Citi.
Background
- Regarded as the most heavily mutated variant of the Coronavirus, thus far, as it has 32 mutations in the spike protein and 50 overall. More specifically, scientists have highlighted that there are 10 mutations vs 2 in the Delta variant regarding the receptor binding domain, which is the portion of the virus that makes initial contact with cells.
- The Omicron variant was identified 5 days ago initially in Botswana with subsequent confirmation and sequencing in South Africa with about 100 confirmed cases. Cases have been detected in Israel and Hong Kong and as of this morning, in Belgium.
- Sequencing data suggests 8.1.1.529 has a different evolutionary pathway, but shares a few common mutations with the C.1.2, Beta and Delta variants.
- That said, as we cautioned last night, a significant number of mutations may not necessarily be a ‘negative’ as it is dependent on how these mutations function, which scientists are yet to establish. Then again, since it is the job of science to fearmonger so that Pfizer can buy an even bigger yacht, assume it will be "very very horrifying" until proven innocuous.
Is it more deadly
- It is currently too early to determine if the new variant has higher mortality than previous variants. Reported cases only started rising in South Africa on 19 November, so any impact on hospitalizations and COVID-related deaths will not have yet emerged.
- Tulio de Oliveria, the Director of the Centre for Epidemic Response & innovation (CERI), South Africa, has written that the variant can be detected by a normal PCR test and as such it will be "easy for the world to track it". It wasn't immediately clear if this is one of those "excess false positive PCR tests" but it's safe to assume for now that it is.
- According to Credit Suisse, "one silver lining may come in the ease of identifying this variant via qPCR tests. B.1.1.529 has a deletion within the s-gene which can be identified easily via widely-used PCR tests. More complex sequencing analysis is needed to differentiate the delta variant. This will help track the spread of B.1.1.529, both within Southern Africa and across the globe."
- As of Thursday there were almost 100 cases detected in South Africa, where it’s become the dominant strain among new infections. Early PCR test results showed that 90% of 1,100 new cases reported Wednesday in the South African province that includes Johannesburg were caused by the new variant, according to de Oliveira.
- In neighboring Botswana, officials recorded four cases on Monday in people who were fully vaccinated. In Hong Kong, a traveler from South Africa was found to have the variant, and another case was identified in a person quarantined in a hotel room across the hall. Israel has also identified one case in a man who recently traveled to Malawi. Belgium has also reported two new cases.
- According to de Oliveira, this new variant, B.1.1.529 "seems to spread very quick! In less than 2 weeks now dominates all infections following a devastating Delta wave in South Africa (Blue new variant, now at 75% of last genomes and soon to reach 100%)"
Transmission
- Oliveria, explains that the new variant is spreading very quickly, in under two-weeks it is now dominating all infections in South Africa following the Delta waves domination – writing that it the variant is “now at 75% of last genomes and soon to reach 100%”.
- Additionally, the virus contains mutations that have been seen in other variants and appear to make transmission easier.
- Outside of Africa, two cases have been reported in Hong Kong, one from a traveller from the region and another who was quarantining in the adjacent hotel room. Most recently, a case has been reported in Israel.
- In response to this, the UK has placed much of southern Africa on the red list, with Israel India, Japan and Singapore also taking similar measures. Additionally, EU Commission President von der Leyen is to propose activation of the emergency air brake, to halt travel from southern Africa.
- It is too early to accurately determine the vaccine response to the new variant. However, the significant number of variants increase the likelihood that current vaccines, which were designed with the original COVID-19 strain in mind, may be less effective.
- Known variants include those that make it more challenging for antibodies to recognise their presence.
- Laboratory testing is already underway according to the South Africa National Institute for Communicable Diseases Initial thoughts from the institute are that partial immune escape is likely, a view that seems possible given the numerous mutations in comparison to the sequence that existing vaccines were designed against. The first view on this to be from in vitro immunogenicity test or perhaps from computer modelling of the sequence. Credit Suisse estimates initial lab data could take less than 1 week to generate given the sequence is already known and work is already ongoing.
- According to Pfizer, if a vaccine-escape variant emerges, the company expects to develop, produce a tailor-made vaccine against that variant in 100 days.
- There have been significant advances in treatment of COVID since it emerged in the disease waves of 2020: the use of widely-available steroids, and anti-inflammatory drugs, such as Roche's Actemra have significantly improved survival outcomes.
- More recently, antibody therapies targeting COVID (LLY, REGN/Roche, AZN) have significantly improved outcomes against COVID variants to date. It will need to be seen if their efficacy is equal against the new B1.1.529 variant.
- Lastly the recent positive data from oral anti-viral agents (PFE, MRK/Ridgeback) may also have the potential to slow the spread of any new waves of COVID. The effectiveness of these treatments against new variants of concern will need to be tested, but lab results should be expected relatively quickly. In-human studies should also yield results relatively quickly if they are run in areas where the prevalence of 8.1.1.529 is high.
- According to Citi, concern over Omicron needs to be balanced against the failure of other concerning variants such as Beta (also first identified in Africa) to out-compete delta.
- The next two weeks will be critical to: (i) determine whether Omicron outcompetes delta in high delta prevalence countries (2-3 weeks), (ii) engineered pseudoviruses for Omicron to determine neutralization by serum of vaccination and previously infected patients (2-4 weeks), and (iii) real world data to determine rates of hospitalisation and death (c. 6-8 weeks). The implementation of travel restrictions and public health measures may push back some of the above timeline estimates. Novel oral anti-virals should retain activity against Omicron but resistance may emerge with time.

A former Pfizer employee, now working as a pharmaceutical marketing expert and biotech analyst, has provided evidence in a public meeting in September suggesting that Pfizer is aware that these shots can cause those vaccinated to be more prone to contracting COVID-19 and infections.
Whistleblower Karen Kingston, the former Pfizer employee appeared together with medical freedom rights attorney Thomas Renz who presented the data in a public meeting at Clay Clark’s ReAwaken America Tour.
According to the whistleblower, “So, when they weren’t injected, their infection rate was 1.3% and when they got injected, it was 4.34%. It went up by over 300%. They had less infection when they had no protection. So, that’s a problem.”

New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D) declared a state of emergency due to the new “Omicron” Covid variant spreading in Africa.
The declaration goes into effect on December 3 and gives the Health Department the power to limit “non-essential” procedures (will likely be enforced through the lens of equity) at hospitals.
“We continue to see warning signs of spikes this upcoming winter, and while the new Omicron variant has yet to be detected in New York State, it’s coming,” Hochul said.

The new ‘Omicron’ variant of the COVID virus identified in South Africa is “highly transmissible and vaccine-resistant.”
And like clockwork, Big Media is scaring the public and Democrat officials are preparing to impose new restrictions.
Dr. Fauci was out flapping his gums on Saturday and said the vaccines will be able to contain the new variant.
“I would not be surprised if it is,” Fauci said when asked if the new variant is already in the US.
“We have not detected it yet, but when you have a virus that is showing this degree of transmissibility and you’re already having travel-related cases that they’ve noted in Israel and Belgium and other places, when you have a virus like this, it almost invariably is ultimately going to go essentially all over,” Fauci said Saturday on NBC’s “Weekend Today” show.
“The vaccines that we use may very well be able to contain this, and then [Omicron] won’t be as serious as some people are surmising it might be,” he said. “A lot of unknowns, which is the reason why we’re all over this.”

BioNTech/Pfizer on Friday said it will know its vaccine effectiveness against the new ‘Omicron’ variant within a couple weeks.
“We expect more data from the laboratory tests in two weeks at the latest. These data will provide more information about whether B.1.1.529 could be an escape variant that may require an adjustment of our vaccine if the variant spreads globally,” BioNTech said in a statement.
If the current Covid vaccine has to be reworked to protect against the new variant out of South Africa, Pfizer said it can have a new jab ready to be shipped within 100 days.

Reuters reported yesterday:
Novavax Inc (NVAX.O) said on Friday it had started working on a version of its COVID-19 vaccine to target the variant detected in South Africa and would have the shot ready for testing and manufacturing in the next few weeks.
As we reported last night, other companies are ready to test their vaccine within the next two weeks as well.

The “Omicron” variant of COVID arrived just in time to ruin Christmas. (Who didn’t see this coming?) The variant with “more mutations than you shake a spike protein at” was first identified in Botswana and quickly became the most prevalent variant in South Africa.
The news of the Omicron variant shook the world. Joe Biden immediately banned travel from 8 countries in southern Africa.
In fact, the Biden administration was so shaken by the news that they decided to completely leave open the US Southern border with Mexico.
Tens of thousands of illegal aliens will be crossing the US southern border in the coming days.
But please wear your face masks.

A President Betrayed by Bureaucrats: Scott Atlas’s Masterpiece on the Covid Disaster

I’m a voracious reader of Covid books but nothing could have prepared me for Scott Atlas’s A Plague Upon Our House, a full and mind-blowing account of the famed scientist’s personal experience with the Covid era and a luridly detailed account of his time at the White House. The book is hot fire, from page one to the last, and will permanently affect your view of not only this pandemic and the policy response but also the workings of public health in general.
Atlas’s book has exposed a scandal for the ages. It is enormously valuable because it fully blows up what seems to be an emerging fake story involving a supposedly Covid-denying president who did nothing vs. heroic scientists in the White House who urged compulsory mitigating measures consistent with prevailing scientific opinion. Not one word of that is true. Atlas’s book, I hope, makes it impossible to tell such tall tales without embarrassment.
Anyone who tells you this fictional story (including Deborah Birx) deserves to have this highly credible treatise tossed in his direction. The book is about the war between real science (and genuine public health), with Atlas as the voice for reason both before and during his time in the White House, vs. the enactment of brutal policies that never stood any chance of controlling the virus while causing tremendous damage to the people, to human liberty, to children in particular, but also to billions of people around the world.
For the reader, the author is our proxy, a reasonable and blunt man trapped in a world of lies, duplicity, backstabbing, opportunism, and fake science. He did his best but could not prevail against a powerful machine that cares nothing for facts, much less outcomes.
If you have heretofore believed that science drives pandemic public policy, this book will shock you. Atlas’s recounting of the unbearably poor thinking on the part of government-based “infectious disease experts” will make your jaw drop (thinking, for example, of Birx’s off-the-cuff theorizing about the relationship between masking and controlling case spreads).
Throughout the book, Atlas points to the enormous cost of the machinery of lockdowns, the preferred method of Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx: missed cancer screenings, missed surgeries, nearly two years of educational losses, bankrupted small business, depression and drug overdoses, overall citizen demoralization, violations of religious freedom, all while public health massively neglected the actual at-risk population in long-term care facilities. Essentially, they were willing to dismantle everything we called civilization in the name of bludgeoning one pathogen without regard to the consequences.
The fake science of population-wide “models” drove policy instead of following the known information about risk profiles. “The one unusual feature of this virus was the fact that children had an extraordinarily low risk,” writes Atlas. “Yet this positive and reassuring news was never emphasized. Instead, with total disregard of the evidence of selective risk consistent with other respiratory viruses, public health officials recommended draconian isolation of everyone.”
“Restrictions on liberty were also destructive by inflaming class distinctions with their differential impact,” he writes, “exposing essential workers, sacrificing low-income families and kids, destroying single-parent homes, and eviscerating small businesses, while at the same time large companies were bailed out, elites worked from home with barely an interruption, and the ultra-rich got richer, leveraging their bully pulpit to demonize and cancel those who challenged their preferred policy options.”
In the midst of continued chaos, in August 2020, Atlas was called by Trump to help, not as a political appointee, not as a PR man for Trump, not as a DC fixer but as the only person who in nearly a year of unfolding catastrophe had a health-policy focus. He made it clear from the outset that he would only say what he believed to be true; Trump agreed that this was precisely what he wanted and needed. Trump got an earful and gradually came around to a more rational view than that which caused him to wreck the American economy and society with his own hands and against his own instincts.
In Task Force meetings, Atlas was the only person who showed up with studies and on-the-ground information as opposed to mere charts of infections easily downloadable from popular websites. “A bigger surprise was that Fauci did not present scientific research on the pandemic to the group that I witnessed. Likewise, I never heard him speak about his own critical analysis of any published research studies. This was stunning to me. Aside from intermittent status updates about clinical trial enrollments, Fauci served the Task Force by offering an occasional comment or update on vaccine trial participant totals, mostly when the VP would turn to him and ask.”
When Atlas spoke up, it was almost always to contradict Fauci/Birx but he received no backing during meetings, only to have many people in attendance later congratulate him for speaking out. Still, he did, by virtue of private meetings, have a convert in Trump himself, but by then it was too late: not even Trump could prevail against the wicked machine he had permissioned into operation.
It’s a Mr. Smith Goes to Washington story but applied to matters of public health. From the outset of this disease panic, policy came to be dictated by two government bureaucrats (Fauci and Birx) who, for some reason, were confident in their control over media, bureaucracies, and White House messaging, despite every attempt by the president, Atlas, and a few others to get them to pay attention to the actual science about which Fauci/Birx knew and care little.
Fortunately, we now have this book to set the record straight. It gives every reader an inside look at the workings of a system that wrecked our lives. If the book finally declines to offer an explanation for the hell that was visited upon us – every day we still ask the question why? – it does provide an accounting of the who, when, where, and what. Tragically, too many scientists, media figures, and intellectuals in general went along. Atlas’s account shows exactly what they signed up to defend, and it’s not pretty.
The cliche that kept coming to mind as I read is “breath of fresh air.” That metaphor describes the book perfectly: blessed relief from relentless propaganda. Imagine yourself trapped in an elevator with stultifying air in a building that is on fire and the smoke gradually seeps in from above. Someone is in there with you and he keeps assuring you that everything is fine, when it is obviously not.
That’s a pretty good description of how I felt from March 12, 2020 and onward. That was the day that President Trump spoke to the nation and announced that there would be no more travel from Europe. The tone in his voice was spooky. It was obvious that more was coming. He had clearly fallen sway to extremely bad advice, perhaps he was willing to push lockdowns as a plan to deal with a respiratory virus that was already widespread in the US from perhaps 5 to 6 months earlier.
It was the day that the darkness descended. A day later (March 13), the HHS distributed its lockdown plans for the nation. That weekend, Trump met for many hours with Anthony Fauci, Deborah Birx, son-in-law Jared Kushner, and only a few others. He came around to the idea of shutting down the American economy for two weeks. He presided over the calamitous March 16, 2020, press conference, at which Trump promised to beat the virus through general lockdowns.

Of course he had no power to do that directly but he could urge it to happen, all under the completely delusional promise that doing so would solve the virus problem. Two weeks later, the same gang persuaded him to extend the lockdowns.
Trump went along with the advice because it was the only advice he was fed at the time. They made it appear that the only choice that Trump had – if he wanted to beat the virus – was to wage war on his own policies that were pushing for a stronger, healthier economy. After surviving two impeachment attempts, and beating back years of hate from a nearly united media afflicted by severe derangement syndrome, Trump was finally hornswoggled.
Atlas writes: “On this highly important criterion of presidential management—taking responsibility to fully take charge of policy coming from the White House—I believe the president made a massive error in judgment. Against his own gut feeling, he delegated authority to medical bureaucrats, and then he failed to correct that mistake.”
The truly tragic fact that both Republicans and Democrats do not want spoken about is that this whole calamity is that did indeed begin with Trump’s decision. On this point, Atlas writes:
Yes, the president initially had gone along with the lockdowns proposed by Fauci and Birx, the “fifteen days to slow the spread,” even though he had serious misgivings. But I still believe the reason that he kept repeating his one question—“Do you agree with the initial shutdown?”—whenever he asked questions about the pandemic was precisely because he still had misgivings about it.
Large parts of the narrative are devoted to explaining precisely how and to what extent Trump had been betrayed. “They had convinced him to do exactly the opposite of what he would naturally do in any other circumstance,” Atlas writes, that is “to disregard his own common sense and allow grossly incorrect policy advice to prevail…. This president, widely known for his signature “You’re fired!” declaration, was misled by his closest political intimates. All for fear of what was inevitable anyway—skewering from an already hostile media. And on top of that tragic misjudgment, the election was lost anyway. So much for political strategists.”
There are so many valuable parts to the story that I cannot possibly recount them all. The language is brilliant, e.g. he calls the media “the most despicable group of unprincipled liars one could ever imagine.” He proves that assertion in page after page of shocking lies and distortions, mostly driven by political goals.
I was particularly struck by his chapter on testing, mainly because that whole racket mystified me throughout. From the outset, the CDC bungled the testing part of the pandemic story, attempting to keep the tests and process centralized in DC at the very time when the entire nation was in panic. Once that was finally fixed, months too late, mass and indiscriminate PCR testing became the desiderata of success within the White House. The problem was not just with the testing method:
“Fragments of dead virus hang around and can generate a positive test for many weeks or months, even though one is not generally contagious after two weeks. Moreover, PCR is extremely sensitive. It detects minute quantities of virus that do not transmit infection…. Even the New York Times wrote in August that 90 percent or more of positive PCR tests falsely implied that someone was contagious. Sadly, during my entire time at the White House, this crucial fact would never even be addressed by anyone other than me at the Task Force meetings, let alone because for any public recommendation, even after I distributed data proving this critical point.”
The other problem is the wide assumption that more testing (however inaccurate) of whomever, whenever was always better. This model of maximizing tests seemed like a leftover from the HIV/AIDS crisis in which tracing was mostly useless in practice but at least made some sense in theory. For a widespread and mostly wild respiratory disease transmitted the way a cold virus is transmitted, this method was hopeless from the beginning. It became nothing but make work for tracing bureaucrats and testing enterprises that in the end only provided a fake metric of “success” that served to spread public panic.

Later, that common-sense outlook was thrown out the window and replaced with an agenda to test as many people as possible regardless of risk and regardless of symptoms. The resulting data enabled Fauci/Birx to keep everyone in a constant state of alarm. More test positivity to them implied only one thing: more lockdowns. Businesses needed to close harder, we all needed to mask harder, schools needed to stay closed longer, and travel needed to be ever more restricted. That assumption became so entrenched that not even the president’s own wishes (which had changed from Spring to Summer) made any difference.
Atlas’s first job, then, was to challenge this whole indiscriminate testing agenda. To his mind, testing needed to be about more than accumulating endless amounts of data, much of it without meaning; instead, testing should be directed toward a public-health goal. The people who needed tests were the vulnerable populations, particularly those in nursing homes, with the goal of saving lives among those who were actually threatened with severe outcomes. This push to test, contact trace, and quarantine anyone and everyone regardless of known risk was a huge distraction, and also caused huge disruption in schooling and enterprise.
To fix it meant changing the CDC guidelines. Atlas’s story of attempting to do that is eye-opening. He wrestled with every manner of bureaucrat and managed to get new guidelines written, only to find that they had been mysteriously reverted to the old guidelines one week later. He caught the “error” and insisted that his version prevail. Once they were issued by the CDC, the national press was all over it, with the story that the White House was pressuring the scientists at the CDC in terrible ways. After a week-long media storm, the guidelines changed yet again. All of Atlas’s work was made null.
Talk about discouraging! It was also Atlas’s first full experience in dealing with deep-state machinations. It was this way throughout the lockdown period, a machinery in place to implement, encourage, and enforce endless restrictions but no one person in particular was there to take responsibility for the policies or the outcomes, even as the ostensible head of state (Trump) was on record both publicly and privately opposing the policies that no one could seem to stop.
As an example of this, Atlas tells the story of bringing some massively important scientists to the White House to speak with Trump: Martin Kulldorff, Jay Bhattacharya, Joseph Ladapo, and Cody Meissner. People around the president thought the idea was great. But somehow the meeting kept being delayed. Again and again. When it finally went ahead, the schedulers only allowed for 5 minutes. But once they met with Trump himself, the president had other ideas and prolonged the meeting for an hour and a half, asking the scientists all kinds of questions about viruses, policy, the initial lockdowns, the risks to individuals, and so on.
The president was so impressed with their views and knowledge – what a dramatic change that must have been for him – that he invited filming to be done plus pictures to be taken. He wanted to make it a big public splash. It never happened. Literally. White House press somehow got the message that this meeting never happened. The first anyone will have known about it other than White House employees is from Atlas’s book.
Two months later, Atlas was instrumental in bringing in not only two of those scientists but also the famed Sunetra Gupta of Oxford. They met with the HHS secretary but this meeting too was buried in the press. No dissent was allowed. The bureaucrats were in charge, regardless of the wishes of the president.
Another case in point was during Trump’s own bout with Covid in early October. Atlas was nearly sure that he would be fine but he was forbidden from talking to the press. The entire White House communications office was frozen for four days, with no one speaking to the press. This was against Trump’s own wishes. This left the media to speculate that he was on his deathbed, so when he came back to the White House and announced that Covid is not to be feared, it was a shock to the nation. From my own point of view, this was truly Trump’s finest moment. To learn of the internal machinations happening behind the scenes is pretty shocking.
I can’t possibly cover the wealth of material in this book, and I expect this brief review to be one of several that I write. I do have a few disagreements. First, I think the author is too uncritical toward Operation Warp Speed and doesn’t really address how the vaccines were wildly oversold, to say nothing of growing concerns about safety, which were not addressed in the trials. Second, he seems to approve of Trump’s March 12th travel restrictions, which struck me as brutal and pointless, and the real beginning of the unfolding disaster. Third, Atlas inadvertently seems to perpetuate the distortion that Trump recommended ingesting bleach during a press conference. I know that this was all over the papers. But I’ve read the transcript of that press conference several times and find nothing like this. Trump actually makes clear that he was speaking about cleaning surfaces. This might be yet another case of outright media lies.
All that aside, this book reveals everything about the insanity of 2020 and 2021, years in which good sense, good science, historical precedent, human rights, and concerns for human liberty were all thrown into the trash, not just in the US but all over the world.
Atlas summarizes the big picture:
“in considering all the surprising events that unfolded in this past year, two in particular stand out. I have been shocked at the enormous power of government officials to unilaterally decree a sudden and severe shutdown of society—to simply close businesses and schools by edict, restrict personal movements, mandate behavior, regulate interactions with our family members, and eliminate our most basic freedoms, without any defined end and with little accountability.”
Atlas is correct that “the management of this pandemic has left a stain on many of America’s once noble institutions, including our elite universities, research institutes and journals, and public health agencies. Earning it back will not be easy.”
Internationally, we have Sweden as an example of a country that (mostly) kept its sanity.
Domestically, we have South Dakota as an example of a place that stayed open, preserving freedom throughout. And thanks in large part to Atlas’s behind-the-scenes work, we have the example of Florida, whose governor did care about the actual science and ended up preserving freedom in the state even as the elderly population there experienced the greatest possible protection from the virus.
We all owe Atlas an enormous debt of gratitude, for it was he who persuaded the Florida governor to choose the path of focussed protection as advocated by the Great Barrington Declaration, which Atlas cites as the “single document that will go down as one of the most important publications in the pandemic, as it lent undeniable credibility to focused protection and provided courage to thousands of additional medical scientists and public health leaders to come forward.”
Atlas experienced the slings, arrows, and worse. The media and the bureaucrats tried to shut him up, shut him down, and body bag him professionally and personally. Cancelled, meaning removed from the roster of functional, dignified human beings. Even colleagues at Stanford University joined in the lynch mob, much to their disgrace. And yet this book is that of a man who has prevailed against them.
In that sense, this book is easily the most crucial first-person account we have so far. It is gripping, revealing, devastating for the lockdowners and their vaccine-mandating successors, and a true classic that will stand the test of time. It’s simply not possible to write the history of this disaster without a close examination of this erudite first-hand account.
Of course he had no power to do that directly but he could urge it to happen, all under the completely delusional promise that doing so would solve the virus problem. Two weeks later, the same gang persuaded him to extend the lockdowns.
Trump went along with the advice because it was the only advice he was fed at the time. They made it appear that the only choice that Trump had – if he wanted to beat the virus – was to wage war on his own policies that were pushing for a stronger, healthier economy. After surviving two impeachment attempts, and beating back years of hate from a nearly united media afflicted by severe derangement syndrome, Trump was finally hornswoggled.
Atlas writes: “On this highly important criterion of presidential management—taking responsibility to fully take charge of policy coming from the White House—I believe the president made a massive error in judgment. Against his own gut feeling, he delegated authority to medical bureaucrats, and then he failed to correct that mistake.”
The truly tragic fact that both Republicans and Democrats do not want spoken about is that this whole calamity is that did indeed begin with Trump’s decision. On this point, Atlas writes:
Yes, the president initially had gone along with the lockdowns proposed by Fauci and Birx, the “fifteen days to slow the spread,” even though he had serious misgivings. But I still believe the reason that he kept repeating his one question—“Do you agree with the initial shutdown?”—whenever he asked questions about the pandemic was precisely because he still had misgivings about it.
Large parts of the narrative are devoted to explaining precisely how and to what extent Trump had been betrayed. “They had convinced him to do exactly the opposite of what he would naturally do in any other circumstance,” Atlas writes, that is “to disregard his own common sense and allow grossly incorrect policy advice to prevail…. This president, widely known for his signature “You’re fired!” declaration, was misled by his closest political intimates. All for fear of what was inevitable anyway—skewering from an already hostile media. And on top of that tragic misjudgment, the election was lost anyway. So much for political strategists.”
There are so many valuable parts to the story that I cannot possibly recount them all. The language is brilliant, e.g. he calls the media “the most despicable group of unprincipled liars one could ever imagine.” He proves that assertion in page after page of shocking lies and distortions, mostly driven by political goals.
I was particularly struck by his chapter on testing, mainly because that whole racket mystified me throughout. From the outset, the CDC bungled the testing part of the pandemic story, attempting to keep the tests and process centralized in DC at the very time when the entire nation was in panic. Once that was finally fixed, months too late, mass and indiscriminate PCR testing became the desiderata of success within the White House. The problem was not just with the testing method:
“Fragments of dead virus hang around and can generate a positive test for many weeks or months, even though one is not generally contagious after two weeks. Moreover, PCR is extremely sensitive. It detects minute quantities of virus that do not transmit infection…. Even the New York Times wrote in August that 90 percent or more of positive PCR tests falsely implied that someone was contagious. Sadly, during my entire time at the White House, this crucial fact would never even be addressed by anyone other than me at the Task Force meetings, let alone because for any public recommendation, even after I distributed data proving this critical point.”
The other problem is the wide assumption that more testing (however inaccurate) of whomever, whenever was always better. This model of maximizing tests seemed like a leftover from the HIV/AIDS crisis in which tracing was mostly useless in practice but at least made some sense in theory. For a widespread and mostly wild respiratory disease transmitted the way a cold virus is transmitted, this method was hopeless from the beginning. It became nothing but make work for tracing bureaucrats and testing enterprises that in the end only provided a fake metric of “success” that served to spread public panic.

For months, we’ve seen sharp rises in Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations “inexplicably” happening in the most vaccinated states in the country and the most vaccinated countries in the world. The solution that has been floating around for weeks is for people to get their booster shots, but even that has done nothing to slow the spread in countries with the most rapid adoption of third and fourth jabs.
We’ve posted literally dozens of articles about the “inexplicable” phenomenon of jabs and boosters not doing anything to slow the spread and in many cases increasing the spread of Covid-19. It’s a daily task since there are always news stories of “rare” breakthrough cases mounting to the point that calling them rare is ludicrous. Statistics out of Israel, Ireland, Portugal, and the most heavily jabbed nations on the globe run completely counter to the vaccine narrative. Nevertheless, it persists.
One of the most striking breakthrough cases we’ve seen recently comes out of the Czechia where the president has taken ill with Covid for the second time in less than two months despite being triple-jabbed with a full vaccine and booster protocol. One can assume that as a head of state, precautions are made to keep infected visitors from seeing him, yet here we are.

Thrice-Jabbed Czech President Zeman Back in the Hospital With Covid
Czech President Miloš Zeman recently received a third dose of the vaccine. He was jabbed at the Central Military Hospital in Prague. Zeman had to return to the hospital after a positive Covid-19 test.
The president’s office confirmed on Thursday that Zeman would return to the military hospital in Prague, according to a report from Reuters. The 77-year-old had previously been released after more than six weeks of treatment and had planned to recover in his presidential residence in Lany Castle. However, his spokesman confirmed that Zeman had tested positive for the Coronavirus, despite having had the booster shot.
“The president’s program will be suspended during treatment for Covid-19,” it said in a statement. Zeman was due to swear in the new Czech coalition government led by Petr Fiala on Friday.
President Zeman had already spent some time in intensive care after he was admitted on October 10, the day after the Czech parliamentary elections.
Just when I thought we may have accumulated enough evidence to start turning the tide against vaxx-nanny propaganda, the new variant “Omicron” popped up to preserve Pandemic Panic Theater. I have serious doubts about whether it’s really as dangerous as we’re being led to believe. No, I’m not a doctor but after hundreds (maybe thousands) of hours of research on the topic in the last few months I’ve seen enough of what actual doctors are saying to speak intelligently about the mutation process. Generally, viruses mutate to be more contagious and less deadly. That’s what we saw with Delta and it is likely what we will see with Omicron.
Unfortunately, that’s not what we’re going to hear about from governments, corporate media, Big Tech, academia, or the healthcare industries for a while. Omicron offers an opportunity for fresh panic and renewed authoritarianism. Therefore, they’re going to milk it for as long as they can even if it turns out to follow the trends of the vast majority of past virus mutation. There’s too much more that Big Pharma still has left to print and The Great Reset agenda is too important to let basic facts stand in its way.
We will be watching Omicron closely, and not just reports from corporate media. Whether this is a real threat or not, we will report honestly on it. For now, we’re going in skeptical but with our eyes wide open. Omicron is already being touted as more resistant to the vaccines and boosters than previous variants. For once, we agree with the mainstream assessment.

Occam’s Razor – The new variant is being hyped because international governments need it to be hyped. The biggest threat to politicians and the global financial system attempting to Build Back Better via enlarged government spending, is not COVID; the biggest threat is anger from the citizenry over the inflation the government spending and buying of debt is creating.
What is the quickest way to eliminate the political risks due to inflation? Shut down demand.
Lock down economies, turn the valves closed on economic demand and then watch price increases slow down.
Global monetary policy to maintain an economic system beneficial to Wall Street and the multinational investment class, means they need to keep interest rates low even as they print more money for Build Back Better spending and purchase their own debt. {Go Deep}
The primary way to control inflation is for central banks (ex U.S. Fed) to stop purchasing their own debt (quantitative easing) and then to raise interest rates. However, that approach would be against the interests of the legislative branch, multinational elites and international finance system (World Economic Forum agenda). As long as politicians keep spending, they must print money and buy their own debt. This causes devalued currency and inflation.
If you are a member of the political elite and you cannot stop the printing presses; and you are worried about the electoral backlash from massively rising prices hitting your citizenry; the only other way to slow inflation is to lower economic demand. How do you lower economic demand…. Omicron !!

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has reintroduced mandatory masks for shops and public transport in response to the discovery of a new COVID-19 variant, despite the requirements only being lifted in July.
On Wednesday, a new strain of coronavirus — B.1.1.529, dubbed ‘Omicron’ — was identified in southern Africa, prompting the United Kingdom on Friday to impose travel restrictions on those coming from several southern African countries and requiring arrivals to quarantine in hotels for ten days.
On Saturday, two cases on the Omicron variant were detected in the UK, in Essex in the southeast of England and in Nottinghamshire in central England. Health Secretary Sajid Javid said the cases were linked to recent travel from southern Africa. Mr Javid had said yesterday that the Omicron strain “may be more transmissible” than the dominant delta variety, and there remained the possibility “the vaccines that we currently have may be less effective” against it.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson held an impromptu press conference on Saturday at 5 pm, during which he used rather unclear language to announce a “tightening up” of the rules on mask-wearing in shops and on public transport — rules that were lifted in July, leaving unclear what there is to “tighten up”.
Mr Johnson told the press during his speech: “We will also be asking all of you to help contain the spread of this variant by tightening up the rules on face coverings in shops and on public transport.”

Likely communicating a confusion expressed by many hearing such an unclear statement, Sky News’s Nick Martin asked Johnson: “Can you just be a bit clearer about what you said about face coverings? You said it would be necessary to ‘tighten up’ on them. Are you tonight saying you’re going to make face coverings mandatory in whatever indoor spaces?”
The prime minister was forced to confirm that yes, this meant the return of mandatory masks, saying: “On face coverings, what we’re looking at is retail and transport just going back to where you have to wear them in retail settings or on public transport.
“But the health secretary, Saj, will be setting out more in the course of the next day or so.”
The measures, Prime Minister Johnson said, are “temporary and precautionary”.

The prime minister announced during his speech other “targetted and proportionate” measures, “as a precaution while we find out more” about the virus, including a testing regime of arrivals from across the whole world, where travellers must take a PCR test by the end of the second day of their arrival and to self-isolate until they have a negative result. People will not be stopped from undertaking international travel, however.
All contacts of those who test positive with a suspected case of Omicron will be told to self-isolate for ten days, “regardless of your vaccination status”.
“We don’t yet exactly know how effective our vaccines will be against Omicron, but we have good reasons for believing they will provide at least some measure of protection,” Mr Johnson said, as he urged more people to be vaccinated and boosted, announcing his government vaccine committee will look at the possibility of widening access to boosters to as many people as possible.
“The measures that we are taking today, including on our borders, on facemasks, are temporary and precautionary. We will review them in three weeks. At that point, we should have much greater information about the continuing effectiveness of our vaccines.
“I very much hope that we will find that we continue to be in a strong position and we can lift these measures again. But right now, this is the responsible course of action to slow down the seeding of the spread of this new variant and to maximise our defences so that we protect the gains we worked for so hard and so that we can continue to save lives,” the prime minister concluded.

For months, we’ve seen sharp rises in Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations “inexplicably” happening in the most vaccinated states in the country and the most vaccinated countries in the world. The solution that has been floating around for weeks is for people to get their booster shots, but even that has done nothing to slow the spread in countries with the most rapid adoption of third and fourth jabs.
We’ve posted literally dozens of articles about the “inexplicable” phenomenon of jabs and boosters not doing anything to slow the spread and in many cases increasing the spread of Covid-19. It’s a daily task since there are always news stories of “rare” breakthrough cases mounting to the point that calling them rare is ludicrous. Statistics out of Israel, Ireland, Portugal, and the most heavily jabbed nations on the globe run completely counter to the vaccine narrative. Nevertheless, it persists.
One of the most striking breakthrough cases we’ve seen recently comes out of the Czechia where the president has taken ill with Covid for the second time in less than two months despite being triple-jabbed with a full vaccine and booster protocol. One can assume that as a head of state, precautions are made to keep infected visitors from seeing him, yet here we are.

Thrice-Jabbed Czech President Zeman Back in the Hospital With Covid
Czech President Miloš Zeman recently received a third dose of the vaccine. He was jabbed at the Central Military Hospital in Prague. Zeman had to return to the hospital after a positive Covid-19 test.
The president’s office confirmed on Thursday that Zeman would return to the military hospital in Prague, according to a report from Reuters. The 77-year-old had previously been released after more than six weeks of treatment and had planned to recover in his presidential residence in Lany Castle. However, his spokesman confirmed that Zeman had tested positive for the Coronavirus, despite having had the booster shot.
“The president’s program will be suspended during treatment for Covid-19,” it said in a statement. Zeman was due to swear in the new Czech coalition government led by Petr Fiala on Friday.
President Zeman had already spent some time in intensive care after he was admitted on October 10, the day after the Czech parliamentary elections.
Just when I thought we may have accumulated enough evidence to start turning the tide against vaxx-nanny propaganda, the new variant “Omicron” popped up to preserve Pandemic Panic Theater. I have serious doubts about whether it’s really as dangerous as we’re being led to believe. No, I’m not a doctor but after hundreds (maybe thousands) of hours of research on the topic in the last few months I’ve seen enough of what actual doctors are saying to speak intelligently about the mutation process. Generally, viruses mutate to be more contagious and less deadly. That’s what we saw with Delta and it is likely what we will see with Omicron.
Unfortunately, that’s not what we’re going to hear about from governments, corporate media, Big Tech, academia, or the healthcare industries for a while. Omicron offers an opportunity for fresh panic and renewed authoritarianism. Therefore, they’re going to milk it for as long as they can even if it turns out to follow the trends of the vast majority of past virus mutation. There’s too much more that Big Pharma still has left to print and The Great Reset agenda is too important to let basic facts stand in its way.
We will be watching Omicron closely, and not just reports from corporate media. Whether this is a real threat or not, we will report honestly on it. For now, we’re going in skeptical but with our eyes wide open. Omicron is already being touted as more resistant to the vaccines and boosters than previous variants. For once, we agree with the mainstream assessment.

Reuters reported yesterday:
Novavax Inc (NVAX.O) said on Friday it had started working on a version of its COVID-19 vaccine to target the variant detected in South Africa and would have the shot ready for testing and manufacturing in the next few weeks.
As we reported last night, other companies are ready to test their vaccine within the next two weeks as well.

No, they didn't. Looks like the folks at Gateway Pundit have some reading comprehension issues.
"Novavax’s vaccine received its first emergency use approval earlier this month in Indonesia followed by the Philippines."
That was for their original vaccine, not the one for this new variant. They do not have an EUA for the USA yet, only for Indonesia and the Phillipines, which like the article says, they received in Nov 2021. Novavax is NOT an MRNA vaccine, btw, which could be why it's taking so long to get an EUA in the western countries. Anyway, apparently now they are working on tweaking it for this new variant. But they still don't have an EUA in the western world so not sure who they will use it on.

We really need to be cautious with Omicron. Get some good research on it. If no one dies from it and it out competes Delta then this may be nature's or God's, whichever you prefer, way rectifying the virus in it's relationship with man.
I have a bad feeling by the way the vaxx world is reacting to this that Omicron may actually be screwing up their plans. If SARS-CoV-2 was a created virus, then Omicron is the wheels falling off the design. The bait(Virus) has destabilized and rendering the trap(Vaccine) useless.

I have seen these kinds of comments from women over the years to homeschool mothers or on anti-vax boards, total hysterical and wishing violence and death on people who do not agree with them. I never heard the homeschool people or the anti-vax ever say such things. They only said what they did to help people, give a choice of school or how not to give all the vaccines at once. No help for them. They act like a werewolf and need a silver B or rabies and too late for any help.

Patients who survived COVID-19 have such strong natural immunity that their chance of reinfection or serious side effects is minimal, according to a new study published in The New England Journal of Medicine.
The study conducted by researchers in Qatar reviewed global databases for 353,000 coronavirus patients who were infected between Feb. 28, 2020 and April 28, 2021.
The researchers excluded about 87,500 people who were vaccinated, and found of the remaining population only 1,304 got reinfected, with none requiring ICU hospitalization.
“Reinfections had 90% lower odds of resulting in hospitalization or death than primary infections,”the researchers said. “…Reinfections were rare and were generally mild, perhaps because of the primed immune system after primary infection.”
“Accordingly, for a person who has already had a primary infection, the risk of having a severe reinfection is only approximately 1% of the risk of a previously uninfected person having a severe primary infection,” the study concluded.
The researchers said it still needs to be determined “whether such protection against severe disease at reinfection lasts for a longer period, analogous to the immunity that develops against other seasonal ‘common-cold’ coronaviruses, which elicit short-term immunity against mild reinfection but longer-term immunity against more severe illness with reinfection.”
Such a finding could be significant, the researchers suggested, because it could mean COVID-19 could eventually “adopt a more benign pattern of infection when it becomes endemic.”

Omicron Is "Extremely Mild" Says Doctor Who First Discovered Strain As Numerous Mutations "Destabilize" The Virus

With Fauci, big government fanatics, Democrat officials, and the biopharma lobby all turning the Omicron (not to be confused with Xi as the WHO explained earlier) variant fearmongering to max, a few holdouts are still trying to maintain a lack of panic (even if that means less revenue for makers of Pfizer and Moderna megayachts).
One, as we noted last night, is Goldman which said that the bank has a "reasonable degree of confidence that this mutation is unlikely to be more malicious and that the existing vaccines will most likely continue to be effective."
Then this morning, the Pretoria doctor who first sounded the alarm about the new strain and who is a Covid-19 adviser to the South Africa government said that symptoms linked to the omicron coronavirus variant have been mild so far.
Contrary to the panicmongering unleashed by western mainstream median, Barry Schoub, chairman of the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Vaccines, told Sky News on Sunday that while South Africa, which first identified the new variant, currently has 3,220 people with the coronavirus infection overall and while the variant does appear to be spreading rapidly, there’s been no real uptick in hospitalizations
“The cases that have occurred so far have all been mild cases, mild-to-moderate cases, and that’s a good sign,” said Schoub, adding that it was still early days and nothing was certain yet.
Most importantly, and running counter to the fearmongering narrative being pumped out 24/7 by the mainstream media, Schoub said that the large number of mutations found in the omicron variant appears to destabilize the virus, which might make it less “fit” than the dominant delta strain.

While South Africa, where the Omicron strain first emerged in early November, has been hit with a number of travel bans from the U.K. and other nations, after its scientists found the mutated variant last week, since then a growing number of European countries, along with Australia, have also identified people infected with the variant.
“In a way, hopefully it won’t displace delta because delta we know responds very well to the vaccine,” he said.
At the same time, one could make the point that while Omicron could soon become the dominant strain due to its higher R-nought (or pace of transmission), that could be a blessing in disguise as it pushes out the much more dangerous (and more stable) delta strain.
It wasn't just Schoub seeking to taper the fearmongering: Angelique Coetzee, chair of the South African Medical Association, agreed with Schoub's assesment calling symptoms associated with the variant at this point “different and so mild” compared with others she’d treated for the virus in recent months.
Coetzee, who first spotted what turned out to be the new variant, told the U.K. Telegraph that a number of healthy young men turned up at her clinic “feeling so tired.” About half were unvaccinated.
Speaking to the Telegraph, she said that “Their symptoms were so different and so mild from those I had treated before,” Coetzee told The Telegraph.
Most of the patients who turned up to her clinic and have tested positive for COVID-19 felt tired. Other symptoms included sore muscles and a slight cough, Coetzee added to Sputnik.
"There are no prominent symptoms. Of those infected, some are currently being treated at home,” she said.
"What we are seeing clinically in South Africa and remember, I’m at the epicenter, that’s where I’m practicing, is extremely mild," she said Sunday on the BBC’s “Andrew Marr Show.”
Speaking to the BBC, Coetzee said that doctors in the UK where panic over Omicron has exploded, "might be more focused on the Delta symptoms" and missing the much milder Omicron variant.

Asked if authorities around the world were panicking unnecessarily, Coetzee said “yes, at this stage I would say definitely. Two weeks from now on maybe we will say something different."
Of course, none of these actual facts matter to those dealing in propaganda, such as Anthony Fauci, who instead of hoping to ease public concerns, said that the omicron variant appears to be more transmissible, reinforcing the need for Americans to get vaccinations or booster shots.
Omicron “is a clarion call” for people to be vaccinated, said Biden's top medical advisor on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” Infections in the U.S. are already rising and stepped-up prevention with the emergence of the new variant will impact whether Americans are “headed into a bleak or bleaker winter,” he said, in a vivid example of what Coetzee dubbed "unnecessary panicking."

New Variant Hysteria Comes From Same Institution That Popularized Lockdowns, Previous COVID Scares

What a small world we live in. The “Nu variant” scare you keep hearing about is coming from the same people and institutions that spawned the last COVID scare, and the one before that, and the one before that one, dating back all the way to the onset of COVID Mania.

The corporate press and world governments have produced an incredible amount of noise about a claimed new COVID variant, the “Nu” variant, which has been detected in South Africa and Botswana.
Just as with previous ruling class-fomented bouts of Hysteria-19, there is no statistical cause for alarm over this new strain, which is one of over 100,000 mutations of the coronavirus.
The “new strain” has hardly produced any lab confirmed cases, but a panicked narrative has already been seeded in the public. The U.K. in particular has driven the fear to new levels. The country has already added several African nations to its travel ban list, citing the new strain.
Similar to every other government-prescribed policy to fight a war on a virus, travel bans do not actually work to stop a virus, but they do successfully agitate the markets and masses into bouts of madness.
And it is not a coincidence that the U.K. is again the first mover on the “Nu strain” front.
The new variant hysteria originated at Imperial College UK, the home of a disgraced, corrupted academic modeling institution that proselytized lockdowns to the Western world. Throughout COVID Mania, Imperial has been the source of countless versions of “new strain” propaganda.
The institution does not only participate in shoddy modeling. It both foments the insanity and demands a series of totalitarian measures to deal with their faulty narrative creations.
The new variant scare campaign originated earlier this week with a Twitter thread from Tom Peacock, a postdoc in his early 30s who is employed at Imperial College London. He set the gears in motion through his alarmist interpretation of the variant, describing the new strain as having a “really awful Spike mutation profile.”
The corporate media, world governments, and other institutions have regurgitated Peacock’s pandemic proclamations, setting off a new series of authoritarian demands from the ruling class.
The current new strain panic comes at a time in Europe when COVID-19 cases are surging in the continent, despite the universal embrace of mRNA injections that were promised to resolve the COVID-19 problem.
This “new strain” has reportedly been found in Europe, driving the media’s narrative even further into the totalitarian abyss.
With claims disseminated to the masses by Big Tech and world governments, the Gates Inc and China-influenced World Health Organization is sowing maximum panic and terror.
Outside of the Chinese Communist Party, no other institution has been as influential in driving destructive COVID-19 policies than Imperial College London.
Imperial College UK is the home of the infamous “doomsday models” for COVID-19, which promised that millions of people would imminently be wiped off the earth if the Western world did not lock down in March of 2020 for COVID-19. The idea that the world needed to “flatten the curve” through pseudoscientific lockdowns was spawned by a faulty academic model from Neil Ferguson, an epidemiologist at Imperial College. When pressed to open source his models, Ferguson outright refused. He later resigned in disgrace from the U.K. government scientific advisory board. Yet “Professor Lockdown” somehow remains a very influential figure in driving Britain’s totalitarian pandemic response policies.
'On the topic of new strains, it seems everything old is new again. Imperial was the primary source of the new variant scare models of 2020. It was around this time last year when U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson, citing Imperial speculation on a different strain, initiated a Winter lockdown.
Read my piece in the Dossier about that “new strain” of 2020 and you will see the incredible parallels. The South Africa/Botswana “Nu strain” propaganda relies on the same fear campaign, but a rebranded version. It’s the exact same playbook.
Last year, it commenced with Erik Volz, an epidemiologist at Imperial College London, who claimed the new strain was 70% more transmissible. His exact language was later repeated by PM Johnson in justifying his lockdown.

A Fearstorm Is Upon Us

I just sat down at my computer and saw that a new fearstorm is upon us.
I saw signs of it earlier in the week, and now it has arrived. And so, briefly, I’d like everyone to understand how these things operate.
Firstly, please notice that fearstorms are coordinated; they arrive in terrifying clusters, with more or less every elite-driven bullhorn saying the same thing, playing up the same terrifying “possibilities.”
And notice that your emotional reactions entirely discount “possibilities.”
You’re feeling nearly the same shock you would if the terrors were certain.
Humans have a weakness for that, and the people behind these fearstorms know it.
The goal of a fearstorm is for you to stop thinking rationally and to act reflexively. Fear does that to us, and the people driving fearstorms can conjure more fear any time they want.
Imagined fears are infinite, after all. Take out a pad of paper some time, and see how many terrifying things you can come up with in half an hour.
So, if you allow yourself to be tossed about by possibilities, you’ll be tossed about forever.
The people who produce these things know this, and that’s their winning strategy.
Instead of listening to “the news” and reacting to social media (outfits that monetize your fear), use your eyes and ears to see what’s happening in the real, physical world. Has the world you see and hear changed over the last day?
Now, before I send this, I’d like everyone to get this viscerally:
So, why is this hitting today? Perhaps because protests are breaking out in Europe? Perhaps because more vaxxed people are dying than the unvaxxed? Because soccer players are dropping like flies?
I don’t know, but I do know that the world I see hasn’t changed since yesterday… at all.

World Medical Association Chair Demands National Lockdowns, Compulsory Jabs, Fears COVID "Variant As Dangerous As Ebola"

The Omicron variant was identified six days ago, initially in Botswana. Infections have been detected in South Africa, Israel, Hong Kong, Belgium, and the UK. So far, the spreading of the heavily mutated variant of the Coronavirus has resulted in a stark warning from one top medical official.
On Saturday, Frank Ulrich Montgomery, chairman of the global physicians' society of the World Medical Association (WMA), told German reporters that he believes Omicron could become as dangerous as the Ebola virus.
Montgomery said, "the fastest and best thing to do is contact restrictions. We must avoid any form of crowd in the coming weeks. We should therefore close the Christmas markets nationwide."
He emphasized the importance of not giving the virus "a chance to mutate by preventing every possible infection."
Montgomery said it may be necessary to keep "vaccinating the world for years" to come, adding that "only vaccination helps."
The bleak predictions come two weeks before BioNTech, Pfizer is expected to have laboratory tests on Omicron to determine if a new novel vaccine would be created. If so, it would take scientists 100 days to develop.
Montgomery's fearmongering comes as South Africa's medical chief Dr. Angelique Coetzee described Omicron as a "storm in a teacup," adding that she had only detected "very mild cases" of the variant so far.
More or less, the virus panic created by health officials and governments is the equivalent of yelling fire in a crowded theater. The only result of mass panic is more public health restrictions that would limit freedoms. Europe has already imposed travel restrictions and partial/full lockdowns as infections increase.
It has been pointed out that "Omicron" is an anagram of "moronic."
Scientists are still examining Omicron, but it appears the current plan has been to create mass panic. For more on that, far-right British commentator Katie Hopkins describes the sheer terror manufactured by health officials and governments by their puppet media outlets.

As James Wells, a statistician who served as head of the ONS UK trade team until 2019, pointed out when he wrote to the OSR to complain about the report earlier this month, this statistic uses data from January 2nd to September 24th 2021, which includes the bulk of the winter deaths at a time when almost no one was vaccinated. This skews the implied vaccine effectiveness, as a fair comparison would only include periods when a significant proportion of the country was vaccinated.
In Mr Humpherson’s letter to Ms Rourke he wrote:

A former Pfizer employee, now working as a pharmaceutical marketing expert and biotech analyst, has provided evidence in a public meeting in September suggesting that Pfizer is aware that these shots can cause those vaccinated to be more prone to contracting COVID-19 and infections.
Whistleblower Karen Kingston, the former Pfizer employee appeared together with medical freedom rights attorney Thomas Renz who presented the data in a public meeting at Clay Clark’s ReAwaken America Tour.
According to the whistleblower, “So, when they weren’t injected, their infection rate was 1.3% and when they got injected, it was 4.34%. It went up by over 300%. They had less infection when they had no protection. So, that’s a problem.”

Yes, really.
Alexander De Croo made the comments during a press conference after international markets plummeted in response to the news that the ‘Nu’ variant of the virus had been discovered in Botswana and spread across South Africa.

World Medical Association Chair Demands National Lockdowns, Compulsory Jabs, Fears COVID "Variant As Dangerous As Ebola"

The Omicron variant was identified six days ago, initially in Botswana. Infections have been detected in South Africa, Israel, Hong Kong, Belgium, and the UK. So far, the spreading of the heavily mutated variant of the Coronavirus has resulted in a stark warning from one top medical official.
On Saturday, Frank Ulrich Montgomery, chairman of the global physicians' society of the World Medical Association (WMA), told German reporters that he believes Omicron could become as dangerous as the Ebola virus.
Montgomery said, "the fastest and best thing to do is contact restrictions. We must avoid any form of crowd in the coming weeks. We should therefore close the Christmas markets nationwide."
He emphasized the importance of not giving the virus "a chance to mutate by preventing every possible infection."
Montgomery said it may be necessary to keep "vaccinating the world for years" to come, adding that "only vaccination helps."
The bleak predictions come two weeks before BioNTech, Pfizer is expected to have laboratory tests on Omicron to determine if a new novel vaccine would be created. If so, it would take scientists 100 days to develop.
Montgomery's fearmongering comes as South Africa's medical chief Dr. Angelique Coetzee described Omicron as a "storm in a teacup," adding that she had only detected "very mild cases" of the variant so far.
More or less, the virus panic created by health officials and governments is the equivalent of yelling fire in a crowded theater. The only result of mass panic is more public health restrictions that would limit freedoms. Europe has already imposed travel restrictions and partial/full lockdowns as infections increase.
It has been pointed out that "Omicron" is an anagram of "moronic."
Scientists are still examining Omicron, but it appears the current plan has been to create mass panic. For more on that, far-right British commentator Katie Hopkins describes the sheer terror manufactured by health officials and governments by their puppet media outlets.

"The Omicron Variant" – Magic Pills, Or Solving The Africa Problem?

Yesterday the WHO labelled the sars-cov-2 variant B.1.1.529 as a “variant of concern” and officially named it “Omicron”.
This was as entirely predictable as it is completely meaningless. The “variants” are just tools to stretch the story out and keep people on their toes.
If you want to know exactly how the Omicron variant is going to affect the narrative, well The Guardian has done a handy “here’s all the bullshit we’re gonna sell you over the next couple of weeks” guide:
- The Omicron variant is more transmissable, but they don’t know if it’s more dangerous yet (keeping their options open)
- It originated in Africa, possible mutating in an “untreated AIDS patient” (sick people are breeding grounds for dangerous “mutations”)
- “it has more than double the mutations of Delta…scientists anticipate that the virus will be more likely to infect – or reinfect – people who have immunity to earlier variants. (undermining natural immunity, selling more boosters, keeping the scarefest going)
- “Scientists are concerned” that current vaccines may not be as effective against the new strain, they may need to be “tweaked” (get your boosters, and the new booster we haven’t invented yet)
- “Scientists expect that recently approved antiviral drugs, such as Merck’s pill, will work as effectively against the new variant” (more on this later)
- It’s already spreading around the world, and travel bans may be needed to prevent the need for another lockdown
Generally speaking, it’s all fairly boilerplate scary nonsense. Although it is quite funny that the Biden administration has already put a bunch of African nations on a travel ban list, when Biden called Trump a racist for doing the same thing in 2020.
AFRICA
It’s interesting that the new variant has allegedly come from Africa, perhaps “mutating in the body of an AIDS patient”, since Africa has been the biggest hole in the Covid narrative for well over a year.
Africa is by far the poorest continent, it is densely populated, malnourishment and extreme poverty are endemic across many African nations, and it is home to more AIDS patients than the entire rest of the world combined. And yet, no Covid crisis.
This is a weak point in the story, and always has been.
Last Summer, the UK’s virus modeller-in-chief Neil Ferguson attempted to explain it by arguing that African nations have, on average, younger populations than the rest of the world, and Covid is only a threat to the elderly. But five minutes of common sense debunks that idea.
The reason Africa has a younger population, on average, is that – on average – they are much sicker.
There are diseases endemic to large parts of Africa that are all but wiped out in most of the Western world. Cholera, typhus, yellow fever, tuberculosis, malaria. Access to clean water, and healthcare are also much more limited.
And while it has been nailed into the public mind that being elderly is the biggest risk factor for Covid, that is inaccurate. In fact, the biggest risk factor for dying “of Covid” is, and always has been, already dying of something else.
The truth is that any REAL dangerous respiratory virus would have cut a bloody swath across the entire continent.
Instead, as recently as last week, we were getting articles about how Africa “escaped Covid”, and the continent’s low covid deaths with only 6% of people vaccinated is “mystifying” and “baffling” scientists.
Politically, African nations have shown themselves far less likely to buy into the “pandemic” narrative than their European, Asian or American counterparts. At least two “Covid denying” African presidents – Pierre Nkurunziza of Burundi and John Magufuli of Tanzania – have died suddenly in the last year, and seen their successors immediately reverse their covid policies.
So maybe the Omicron Variant is a way of trying to fold Africa into the covid narrative that the other continents have already fully embraced. That will become clear as the story develops.
Of course, it’s also true that being “African” is media shorthand for being scary, relying on the deeply-seated xenophobia of Western audiences. See: “Africanized killer bees”.
But, either way, Africa is the long game. There’s a more obvious, and more cynical, short term agenda here.
THE MAGIC PILLS
Let’s go back to the Guardian’s “Omicron” bullet points, above:
- Scientists are concerned by the number of mutations and the fact some of them have already been linked to an ability to evade existing [vaccine-created] immune protection.
- Scientists expect that recently approved antiviral drugs, such as Merck’s pill, [will work effectively] against the new variant
Pharmaceutical giants Merck and Pfizer are both working on “Covid pills”, which as recently as three days ago, were being hyped up in the press:
In the US, an emergency use authorisation can only be issued if there is no effective medication or treatment already available, so the vaccines not being proof against Omicron would be vital to rushing the pills onto the US market, at least.
If Omicron is found to be “resistant to the vaccines”, but NOT the pills, that will give governments an excuse to rush through approving the pills on an EUA, just as they did with the vaccines.
So, you bet your ass that testing is gonna be “rapid”. Super rapid. Blink-and-you’ll-miss-it rapid. Rapid to the point you’re not even sure it definitely happened. And now they have an excuse.
Really, it’s all just more of the same.
A scare before the new year. An excuse to make people believe their Christmas could be in peril. An exercise in flexing their control muscles a bit, milking even more money out of the double-jabbed and boosted crowd, now newly terrified of the Omicron variant, and a nice holiday bump to Pfizer’s ever-inflating stock price.
At this point either you can see the pattern, or you can’t. You’re free of the fear machinery, or you’re not.
There is one potential silver lining here: It feels rushed and frantic. Discovered on Tuesday, named on Friday, travel bans on Saturday. It is hurried, and maybe that’s a reaction to feeling like the “pandemic” is losing its grip on the public mind.
Hopefully, as the narrative becomes more and more absurd, more and more people will wake up to reality.
It has been pointed out that “Omicron” is an anagram of “moronic”.
One wonders if that’s deliberate and they’re making fun of us.

Israel Moves To Ban All Foreigners From Entry Amid Omicron Variant Fears

Israel's Knesset is set to hold a special emergency "coronavirus cabinet" late Saturday night where government officials will vote on enacting a complete closure of the country to foreign travel. The ban will tentatively be in effect for the next two weeks.
Already Israel has banned all foreigners arriving from the majority of African countries in recent days on fears that the highly-mutated Omicron coronavirus variant, which first emerged in South Africa, could be the next deadly wave - and with the vaccine possibly doing little to stop it.

The greatly tightened travel and tourist restrictions are expected to be announced late Saturday night or early Sunday. It's expected to also include a new mandatory quarantine of three days or more for vaccinated Israeli citizens who've returned from traveling abroad. For unvaccinated inbound Israeli citizens the quarantine will be a week.
The fresh travel rules come as authorities scramble to do contact tracing on exposures related to at least one confirmed Omicron case:
Just days ago the health minister Nitzan Horowitz announced that Israelis will likely have to get a fourth shot, also as children between the ages of 5 to 11 have begun receiving the jab.
Ironically the foreign tourist ban is now being re-imposed for one of the most highly vaxxed nations on earth.
At least 80% of all Israelis 16 and older are now considered fully vaccinated.

Prime Minister Bennett ahead of the vote said the government is "preparing for any scenario." And concerning the new still somewhat mysterious variant, the country's interior minister said, "It looks like it might be more infectious, so we’re taking action as fast as possible."

“It presents mild disease with symptoms being sore muscles and tiredness for a day or two not feeling well. So far, we have detected that those infected do not suffer the loss of taste or smell.
They might have a slight cough. There are no prominent symptoms. Of those infected some are currently being treated at home,” said Dr. Coetzee to Sputnik.
“Yes, it is transmissible, but for now, as medical practitioners, we do not know why so much hype is being driven as we are still looking into it. We will only know after two to three weeks as there are some patients admitted and these are young people aged 40 and younger,” she added.
Dr. Coetzee also told the Telegraph that about two dozen of her patients tested for the ‘Omicron’ variant, they were mostly healthy men who turned up just “feeling so tired”.
Dr. Coetzee disagrees with other countries that ban flight from Africa saying it is ‘premature because there is not enough information on how dangerous it is,’ per Sputnik.
The official noted that hospitals are not yet swamped and overwhelmed with this new COVID variant.
The World Health Organization (WHO) representative in Russia, Melita Vujnovic, said on Saturday that there’s no reason to panic regarding the new COVID variant.
