SOFT NEWS Little Girl's reaction to Mom's "motivational" story is something to think about

I am posting this as soft news both as comic relief which everyone needs but also because when you really think about the implications of what this three-year-old girl does when Mom makes up a story on the spur of the moment to try and get her to clean up her toys is really very interesting in terms of basic human psychology.

It has implications for the understanding of some basic human drives, ideas and even religoius ramifications.

I don't want to give too much away until after a few people have watched it but we may want to discuss this - I neither support nor am particularly negative about how Mom handles things but the child's reaction is really interesting.

Sorry gang I can find a non-facebook source for this video so mods can either delete this thread or we can leave it up for folks who can visit the URL - I was trying to post some new material *sigh*

Yep...I dunno what's up, but I got some Valley Girl type chatterbox with purple hair.

She should be telling a story about when she told her daughter about the Mop creature that would take her toys away at night if she didn't clean up her room.

Instead of cleaning up her room first the little girl (aged 3) is caught on camera trying to "negotiate" with the Mopp Thingy beneath the floor, then rather than clean up her toys when that doesn't work on her own (with no help from Mom) she gets caught on camera trying to "sacrifice" or "give" toys she doesn't like as much in exchange for getting the toys she wants back.

Eventually, the child gives up and starts picking up her toys, but she still sometimes talks to the floor...

Or as my husband says "a rather creepy microcosm of the history of religion in miniature" (sort of).

I got a couple minutes in. It's a girl talking about how to respond to boyfriends who say incongruous things, apparently. No mom, no little girl. Think you got the wrong link.

OK I'm just thinking then that this thread needs to be closed and I will be happy if the mods can do that - again sorry I tried, if I can get a working link I may try again but it isn't that important and was intended only to entertain and get a discussion going

I have noticed that some Facebook links seem to "morph" with time. They don't seem to be stable like regular web links.

I've seen that too. I suspect it's a business decision. Facebook wants you to link WITHIN facebook, where links are maintained, to force you to sign up.
