That was a topical application BTW! I rubbed into the lesion 3-4 times a day... After the first couple of days, I had to make a mental note to remind myself to apply it...any symptoms beyond what was visible had vanished.
Just remember, though... He never saw the spot... Even the persistent discoloration had already completely faded. In contrast, I've got a spot on my leg that has finally faded to a medium pink... FOURTEEN MONTHS after being bitten by a tick carrying Lyme disease! I'm apparently immune from a previous bout with Lyme, as a blood test showed "strong" antibodies. It wasn't from that tick... it wasn't on me long enough to transmit it, plus I took a preventive dose of Doxycycline as soon as I removed it. But, it sure had a nasty, very localized reaction, which has taken a LONG time to completely resolve.
So, the fact the entire "shingles" rash was gone within a week, and all discoloration had vanished before my appointment 5 weeks later... seems noteworthy. This Doc is one of the best I've seen... Best primary care we've ever had. He's both knowledgeable and open minded, and we both learned a lot from each other. So, I'm going to trust his diagnosis... But also remembering how often someone would describe a problem, or even show me a picture, and want a diagnosis! IF they were able to answer relevant questions (and this was about as common whether they were talking about a two legged or four legged patient) sometimes it fit something clearly enough that I could suggest some help. But more than half the time, no, they hadn't taken their temperature, yes, they take "pills", but no idea why!
Anyway, don't take it as absolute gospel... But as you say, its good info.
But I've got something even more interesting... for Lyme disease!
DSs pigs got Lyne last summer. They were bad... Joints enlarged and painful enough they didn't want to walk to the feed pans, much less forage.
It didn't get caught early, as hubby didn't feel comfortable pressing the subject when they blew him off when he reported the first, " odd" lameness. Then it all blew up because "they can't have antibiotics!!! Ever!! hey aren't certified organic, but apparently the biggest deal is *no antibiotics! Ever!!"
Ooookay... But the organic agreements ALL state that if an effective organic treatment is not available, a conventional treatment MUST be given, for the welfare of the animal.
And I hadn't found anything in the natural/herbal realm that would treat Lyme... And believe me, I tried!
But I was vetoed, and they loaded them on a trailer and hauled them a couple hundred yards to a neighbor's waste patch of Japanese Knotweed. I've known and used knotweed for various viral issues... Especially four type viruses. But I've never used it as an antibacterial... Never knew it might work.
Over the following two weeks, all four pigs recovered...about the time they finished off an acre or so of Knotweed , and needed to be kept home.
This likely was them eating both tops and roots. I'd try a decoction of the root (chop and simmer or percolate... Like coffee) . The tops I'd use for tea, or try shade drying and then grinding for capsules or in smoothies.
No guarantees, but I've learned a new trick! And apparently not ALL YouTube videos are total baloney!
