And just how would you use this product? melt and add water?

Hi, Delta Lady~
Here is the info from the website linked above:
********

Bean Tree Laundry soap comes in cubes the perfect size for making one gallon of homemade laundry detergent. These 1.5 ounce cubes can be melted in the microwave or on the stove top. No more grating-and-waiting! Each cube has the added power of borax which creates a gelled soap every time. This soap is gentle enough to use on your diapers, yet strong enough to get them really clean. Each order of laundry soap comes with ten cubes of soap which is enough for ten gallons of detergent! Just add warm water and 1 cup of washing soda per gallon of soap.

Polly,
I have never tried this brand, but I did use a recipe before that you grated the soap. It didn't clean any better for me than other stuff, but some people swear by it.

We have a septic system and very hard water so I'm pretty careful what I use in my laundry. Bleach was destroying my septic system so I was trying all sorts of natural/friendly cleansers.

Please let us know how you like it if you buy some.

If you use washing soda, do not use the wash water on the garden. Washing soda has sodium in it and will act like salt in your garden.
