I’m fascinated with Spencer Pratt’s run for mayor of LA and have questions. Do y’all think it’s possible to even have a legitimate count in the election? What time do polls close there? Any thoughts on the race? Pratt seems to have really gained ground in the race.

Many ballots remain uncounted, and they are likely to lean Democratic.

In California, Election Day often stretches into Election Week or even Election Month because of the time it takes to count the state’s high volume of mail ballots. That process, combined with the fact that many Democrats waited until the last minute to return their ballots this year, could lead to a long wait for a call for many races in the state’s nonpartisan primaries.

Typically, more than 80 percent of ballots in California are cast by mail. Ballots that had been returned well ahead of Election Day were processed as they were received, and counties posted those votes shortly after polls closed on Tuesday night. But ballots received close to or on Election Day — as well as those postmarked by Election Day and received within seven days — can take up to 30 days to be counted.

Those later ballots, referred to as the “late mail” vote, often determine the outcome of races. And this year’s primaries are further complicated by a marked climb in the share of ballots returned by registered Democrats in the lead-up to Election Day.
Four weeks ago, about 40 percent of the ballots cast by mail came from registered Democrats. In the week leading up to Election Day, the Democratic share of returned ballots was over 50 percent, meaning that the mail ballots counted in the days and weeks after Election Day could be significantly more Democratic than those reported so far.
In the 2022 primaries, by contrast, the partisan makeup of mail ballots remained relatively stable throughout the early voting period, at about 53 percent Democratic. Even then, the ballots that were counted after Election Day shook up candidate standings in some races.
In the 2022 Los Angeles mayoral primary, Karen Bass had received about 37 percent of the reported vote by the end of election night, compared with the more conservative Rick Caruso’s 42 percent. By the time all the ballots had been counted, Ms. Bass had risen into first place with 43 percent of the vote, and Mr. Caruso had fallen to 36 percent.

California Democrats are returning their ballots later

And even without a shift in partisanship over time, the counting can still take a while: In the 2022 and 2024 primaries, more than a quarter of the House races remained uncalled by the Monday after Election Day.
Hard figures on the number of ballots that remain to be counted won’t be available until later in the week, but in past California elections as much as 50 percent of the vote has remained to be counted after Election Day.

Bass Advances To Runoff In LA Mayor's Race; Pratt Leads Contenders

Authored by Jackson Richman and Beige Luciano-Adams via The Epoch Times,
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass advanced to the November runoff election for Los Angeles mayor.

The Associated Press called Bass’s advancement after 1:30 a.m. ET on June 3. Reality TV star Spencer Pratt and Los Angeles City Councilmember Nithya Raman lead 11 other candidates in the race for runner-up.

The runner-up will face Bass in the runoff election on Nov. 3.
Bass campaigned on issues including affordability, public safety, and homelessness. Pratt focused his campaign on crisis management, fiscal responsibility, government reform, public safety, homelessness, infrastructure improvements, support for small businesses, and oversight of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
Raman’s platform emphasized ending homelessness, expanding housing, protecting renters, improving public safety and transportation, environmental protection, immigrant rights, animal welfare, and support for small businesses.

Both Raman and Pratt have criticized Bass for her response to recent wildfires sweeping Los Angeles. Pratt’s home was destroyed in the Pacific Palisades fire in 2025.
A distinctive feature of Pratt’s campaign was the widespread use of artificial intelligence-generated videos created by supporters.
One of the most widely viewed videos opens with scenes of Los Angeles engulfed in flames, with Bass as a Joker-like villain and Pratt as a Batman-style hero promising change. In another, Bass is portrayed as Darth Vader from Star Wars, and in a third, she appears as the villain Thanos from Marvel’s Avengers franchise.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush praised the Joker-themed video in a May 5 post on X, calling it “maybe the best political ad of the year.”

Bass has publicly criticized the AI-generated videos.
“Actually, I think it’s a very dangerous trend,” she said during a May 13 interview with CNN.

She argued that some of the imagery, including scenes showing tomatoes thrown at her character in the Joker video, resembled blood and contributed to an increasingly hostile political atmosphere.

Bass warned that portraying political opponents as villains could influence unstable individuals and escalate tensions.

At the same time, she acknowledged that many voters are frustrated with current conditions and that Pratt has tapped into those concerns by presenting himself as a solution to the city’s challenges.
“I think that plays into people’s desperation, and I think oftentimes we look for someone superhuman to save us,” Bass said. “The reality is it never happens. Those are fictional characters.”

Voters Sound Off

In interviews with The Epoch Times, many voters at polling stations across L.A. County on Tuesday described a deep dissatisfaction with incumbent Karen Bass’s handling of the fires and the homelessness crisis.
Some embraced Pratt, while others said they would have preferred a more progressive candidate in the style of New York City’s Zohran Mamdani.

“Bass has failed us,” said Tom Perez, 69, a resident of East Los Angeles who said he has been a lifelong Democrat since he began voting in the 1970s. “It’s not that I don’t trust them as individuals, I just don’t trust the Democratic Party.”
Perez said he found Pratt empathetic, and his AI-fueled guerrilla campaign effective. “I feel for him, he lost his house. Even his commercials, who could not vote for him?”
Eduardo Cardenas, 28, also an East L.A. resident, a self-described political pessimist, said he was simply voting against the worst of what he’s seen.

“Like the Mayor [Bass], when the fires happened, I just didn’t like how she handled it. So I’ll pick a candidate that is most likely going to be the contender against that person. Basically, my preference is for anyone but her.”
Elizabeth, a 56-year-old West Adams resident who asked to be identified by her first name only, said her main priority was to ensure Pratt didn’t make it to the general election.
“I was struggling between Karen Bass and Nithya Raman, and I ultimately voted for Raman in a strategic vote, because I will do anything to keep Spencer Pratt off the ballot—I find him dangerous, unqualified—every negative thing possible,” she said.

“I used to live in New York City, and I would love a Mamdani here for mayor. Maybe Raman is that, I don’t know,” she said, adding that she has leaned more progressive in recent years as a result of rampant corruption among both parties.
A 31-year-old West Adams resident who goes by the name “Zochi” expressed a similar sentiment.
“I moved here recently. … I was in New York last year, so I got to experience Zohran and I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is amazing.’ And then I come here and I’m like, ‘Oh, there is not a lot going on here,” he said, referring to a “pretty weak ballot” in the primaries.

Meanwhile, residents in unincorporated areas and other cities in L.A. County who can’t technically vote for L.A. mayor but are impacted by the office’s policies, also weighed in on Bass.
“She’s doing a great job, but she didn’t do enough for the homeless, because you can see the shift—they’re now in other cities, and who’s tracking them? They’re in Montebello, where I live,” Lydia Leon, 67, told The Epoch Times at the L.A. County Registrar’s Office in Norwalk.
“If you go down any freeway, you’ll see tent after tent after tent. They’re all over the place. And maybe they’ve shifted out of downtown L.A., but they’re now all here and in the other cities.”
Joseph Trevisu, 20, said he was rooting for Pratt.

“I think anyone who lives in L.A. County and frequents the city of L.A. knows it’s a mess,” Trevisu said. “They need an outsider who’s going to come in and clean house.”
Trevisu, a college student, said his professors have drilled in him that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and expecting a different result.
“For a long time, us Democrats have been electing Democrats because they have a ‘D’ next to their name and expecting a different result,” he said. “The party is out the window. I think we’re all sick and tired of this stuff.”

NBC says the quiet part out loud

LA won’t have results tonight because tonz of mail-in ballots will be arriving over the next few days which will help the Democrats

This is how they cheat
Exactly!!

Here is the chart of all the elections last night. What do you see, when looking at the reporting totals?? Every other state is at close to 90% counted, many up in the 95% ranges...

CA is only in the 50's - 60%'s ranges, how the hell does that happen, unless you need time to "print" more ballots, to get your candidate over the finish line?

Bombshell lawsuit exposes 873,000 ‘ghost’ voters in California | Titus Wu, New York Post As voters hit the polls Tuesday to make their picks in this year’s primary races, a fresh lawsuit against California’s secretary of state is calling into question whether hundreds of thousands of unqualified voters are still eligible to head to the ballot box. Orange County Supervisor Don Wagner, the Republican candidate for secretary of state, joined the American Independent Party of California in suing incumbent Secretary of State Shirley Weber, alleging that 873,092 inactive voter registrations are still on the rolls.

The complaint, filed through conservative voting watchdog organization Judicial Watch, claimed the Democrat Weber is in violation of federal law that requires most inactive voter registrations to be removed after two general federal elections. Instead, more than 800,000 registrations have remained inactive and on the rolls for at least three elections — with 151,202 on the rolls after at least four consecutive elections, the suit claims. The lawsuit also alleges that the state takes no effective action to require counties to fix the issue, citing admissions by California officials. Currently, over 23 million Californians are registered to vote. Back in 2019, Judicial Watch had settled with the state of California and Los Angeles County to remove more than 1.2 million names from the voter rolls.

Since then, the organization claimed 20 counties across the state have only removed 50 or fewer inactive voters, despite census data showing hundreds of thousands of residents leaving California. “Judicial Watch’s federal lawsuit confirms California has a dirty voting rolls crisis — with thousands of old names on the rolls going back at least 10 years,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement. “Dirty voting rolls can mean dirty elections.

And California and its counties must take immediate steps to clean the over 870,000 dirty names on the voting lists.” The California Post contacted Weber’s office for comment. The lawsuit, filed in the US District Court Central District of California Western Division, seeks to force the state to stop further violations and require a new voter-roll maintenance program to remove ineligible voters. California’s election system has faced scrutiny despite state Democrats proclaiming it as safe and secure. Even President Trump said the state’s elections “are a “fraud.”

There were questionable voting incidents just days before the primary. On Sunday, officials discovered a voting site vandalized and mail-in ballots burned in a drop box. The same day, a Bay Area voter showed up to vote on Sunday night at a closed ballot center, only to discover its doors unlocked and the building unsecured.

Stephen A. Smith delivers a BRUTAL wake-up call to his own party.

He said Steve Hilton and Spencer Pratt’s performances in California are an INDICTMENT of Democrats everywhere — and if they win, Gavin Newsom’s chance of becoming president in 2028 is “ZERO.”

SMITH: “A message has been sent.”

“And that message that’s been sent is very, very simple.”

“If people in a blue state like California are entertaining seriously about putting Republicans in charge...could you imagine what other states in this union are contemplating doing?”

“Could you imagine what an indictment that is against Democrats everywhere?”

“Let me tell you something right now. If Hilton wins the gubernatorial race and Pratt wins the mayor seat...Gavin Newsom has NO chance at the presidency in 2028.”

“ZERO!”

“If that happens he has no chance.”

“Because to indict California, is to indict him. He’s the been the governor since 2018.”

“Fair or unfair, that’s how it is and everybody needs to accept that.”

“That’s the way it goes.”

Trump claims Dems ‘trying to steal’ California primaries, launches probe into sluggish vote counts

Published June 4, 2026, 5:08 a.m. ET

President Trump claimed the Democrats are “trying to steal” the California gubernatorial and the Los Angeles mayoral primaries – and launched a probe into the state’s sluggish vote count.

Trump fumed Thursday over how votes in California are trickling in two days after polls closed – and the results of the elections may not be known for several weeks due to the vast amount of mail-in ballots that need to be processed.

“The Dumocrats are at it again,” Trump raged on Truth Social.

“They are trying to STEAL THE GOVERNOR OF CALIFORNIA PRIMARY, AND THE MAYOR OF LOS ANGELES, PRIMARY, AWAY FROM TWO GREAT REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES. Here we go with the very late and massive numbers of MAIL IN BALLOTS.”

Trump announced a probe into the slow vote counting has been launched — but it’s unclear who initiated the investigation.

“There’s big cheating by the Dumocrats in California. Votes are all tied up. May not be in for weeks” Trump blasted in another post. “Under investigation by the US Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles. Why [is] the vote counting delay???”

California’s vote count often stretches beyond Election Day because officials must verify signatures, process millions of vote-by-mail ballots, and conduct required audits before certifying results.

State law gives county election officials up to 30 days after an election to complete the official canvass, count every valid ballot, and perform post-election checks to ensure accuracy.

Results started trickling in shortly after polls closed Tuesday, but those numbers can change as additional ballots are processed.

Early in-person votes and mail-in ballots that came in during the first weeks of voting will be released as the state’s initial results.

Because California accepts vote-by-mail ballots that can be postmarked by Election Day and received later, final results in close races may not be known for days or even weeks.

Only 56% of the vote has been counted statewide in California — and Steve Hilton, a former aide to ex-British Prime Minister David Cameron, leads the way.

The top two candidates, irrespective of party, will progress and face off against each other in November’s general election.

Hilton has received 27.6% of the vote and has a two percentage point lead over Democrat Xavier Becerra.

Billionaire Tom Steyer, founder of the San Francisco hedge fund Farallon Capital, is trailing in third place — despite pumping in $215 million of his own cash into the race.

Hilton, who has been endorsed by Trump, has said California has lost its way under Democratic leadership as he bids to become the state’s first Republican governor in 15 years.

But he faces an uphill task if he makes it to the general election as Democrats make up 45% of registered voters compared to Republicans’ 25%.

He is pledging to lower prices on everything from gas to housing, reduce income taxes, create a loan program for first-time homebuyers, and freeze in-state tuition at public colleges.

Meanwhile, ex-reality TV star Spencer Pratt is still waiting to find out if he will progress to November’s mayoral election in Los Angeles.

Incumbent Karen Bass will be on the ballot, having qualified for the run-off, but Pratt is currently in second place on 29.9% of the vote.

He is ahead of progressive Democrat Nithya Raman — who is currently on 22.8%.

Far-left candidate Raman sobbed during an impassioned speech Tuesday but she could end up in the run-off if a large trove of progressive mail-in ballots swing towards her.

“Don’t count Nithya Raman out yet,” Zev Yaroslavsky, the director of the Los Angeles Initiative at UCLA Luskin, told the Los Angeles Times.

“Pratt has an edge … but it’s not free from doubt at this point.”

Trump’s opposition to mail-in voting is well-documented. Last August, he wrote, “ELECTIONS CAN NEVER BE HONEST WITH MAIL IN BALLOTS/VOTING.”

“I am going to lead a movement to get rid of MAIL-IN BALLOTS,” he said.

Ahead of the 2020 election, Trump claimed “universal mail-in voting” would lead to the most “INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history.”

CALIFORNIA IS STEALING ELECTIONS IN PLAIN SIGHT

Mail ballots dumped on dirty, inaccurate voter rolls like candy on Halloween. Still counting votes DAYS later in a “close” race? This isn’t democracy — it’s a rigged circus run by Democrats who know they can’t win fair elections.

Steve Hilton is 100% right: this is a JOKE designed to destroy trust and manufacture outcomes.

How many more phantom ballots will magically appear for Becerra? When does the Trump DOJ step in and clean house?

America is watching this fraud. If they get away with it in California, every state is next.

SCANDAL ALERT: California’s “Election” is a Total FRAUD FACTORY!

Results could take WEEKS to “count” while the rest of America moves on. Third-world dictatorships tally votes faster and more honestly than this blue hellhole!

Spencer Pratt is crushing it early, but watch the mail-in ballot magic appear to push radical Dem Nithya Raman ahead. Classic California cheat: slow-walk the count, “find” votes, rig the runoff for Karen Bass and her cronies.

This isn’t incompetence — it’s DELIBERATE ELECTION STEALING by the same corrupt machine that turned the Golden State into a third-world slum.

How much longer are we letting Democrats manufacture outcomes in the dark?

Federal takeover of CA elections NOW. Paper ballots. Same-day counting. Or admit America has banana republic elections.

This is how Democrats stay in power in California

US Attorney Bill Essayli was kicked off the Elections Committee by Democrats for fighting for Voter ID

He exposed how the State’s website allows ANYONE to receive mail in ballots without a drivers license or social security. You simply check the box, ‘I don’t have one’ and are sent a ballot

“The Democrats in our legislature in Sacramento kicked me off my elections committee for fighting for you, the voters, and speaking up on voter id”

“I'm on the website for the State of California to register to vote on the section where you put in your driver's license, your last four of your social, there's a box underneath each one. It says, I don't have one. I don't have one. And then you're allowed to proceed to go to vote. What is the agenda here? Why do we let people register to vote and we don't verify their immigration status? We need to instill confidence in our elections”

Here’s how Democrats rig elections with those mail in ballots

California moved aggressively toward universal mail-in ballots. Key steps included:

- 2016-2018: Laws like the Voter’s Choice Act expanded vote-by-mail options.

- 2020+ Permanent universal mail-in ballots, every registered voter gets a ballot mailed automatically

Ballot harvesting third parties collecting and delivering ballots was also legalized and expanded

The finishing blow: In 2024 SB 1174 was signed. It locked in the statewide no-ID standard

And that right there is how you permanently rig elections forever

No one can ever beat this voter fraud

We need a federal audit of California elections

The punishment for election fraud should be equivalent to the punishment for treason, because that’s exactly what it is

The FBI and DOJ need to go to California now, while the fraud is going on—it's a crime in progress—and investigate and arrest now—not three months from now, before they destroy the evidence.

The California communists are poised to steal this election from Pratt & Hilton. They aren’t even trying to hide it—committing fraud in plain view, flaunting their theft before the nation with open contempt, while every safeguard of accountability stands silent.

This is the tragedy now overtaking our Republic. As @DC_Draino has exposed, Democrats are stealing the election from Pratt in plain sight with impossible vote tallies that freeze his numbers cold. @bennyjohnson lays bare their ballot-harvesting machine already robbing Hilton of the governorship through weeks of late-counted mail-ins. And @yesnicksearcy warns the full communist cheat operation will strip both candidates of their rightful wins—precisely the machinery primed to devour every Democrat-dominated state in the 2026 midterms.

Yet Congressional Republicans refuse to pass the SAVE Act—which demands proof of citizenship to bar illegals from voting—or President Trump’s further measures for nationwide voter ID and the immediate purging of non-citizen rolls, leaving us exposed as the same machinery of fraud already operating in California repeats across every Democrat-dominated state in the midterms, without fail.

CALIFORNIA TO COUNT BALLOTS UNTIL RESULTS CHANGE

California is still counting.

Again.

We’re told that “late-arriving mail in ballots” are continuing to come in, and we’re told to be patient while the count drags on.

Yet NONE of those late mail in ballots seem to be for Hilton or Pratt.

Millions of Americans are asking the same question:

How can entire countries count their elections in a single night, yet California struggles to count a fraction of that number of votes in 24 hours?

The longer the process continues, the more questions voters are going to have.

Why does it take so long?

How many ballots are still outstanding?

Where exactly are they coming from?

And why does public confidence seem to decline every election cycle?

Trust in elections is essential to a functioning democracy.

If officials want Americans to have confidence in the results, transparency can’t be optional.

It has to be absolute.

Every single time those votes go almost 100% one way. They don't go 70-30 or even 80-20. It is always nearly 100% Democrat. We hear the excuse more Democrats vote by mail. Prove it to us then and make it same day voting and do away with these mail-ins where it is only an issue in blue states and show us that that many Democrats ACTUALLY vote and they aren't fraudulent ballots.

Why every election do these liberal shithole cities and states get away with this ballot manipulation. Why aren’t they checking that voter numbers match the voter roles and spot checking voters for legitimacy. Who made that stuff up and why aren’t we calling them out real time. Ohhh we’ll fix it eventually.
