The Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem (Knights Templar, NOT the Tom Hanks movie version) is a modern day fraternal group (based) on the tenants of the original Order during the Crusades. It is dedicated to the protection of Christians in the middle East, support of scholarships to provide upward mobility of the children of said victims of this persecution, and support of worthy local charitable causes in the areas of their Priories (home of the local chapter of these groups). With 1000's of members, generous sums of monies are generated annually, along with like kind donations in the 10's of thousands of man-hours toward charitable endeavors ( with most giving performed anomalously) this group strives to live up the Chivalrous code of the original Knights of the Temple.
