Check her over for any wounds caused by talons, she's small enough for a large hawk, owl, or eagle to pick up and she could have been dropped.

^^^that's very good advice^^^

we lived way out on the orange seminole cty line in central Florida. at that time things were still pretty rural where we were, and SCUMBAGS were always dropping unwanted animals off, several of which eventually found their way to Raggedy acres.

we had a beautiful long hair calico named "Misuss Kitty" that we found in the back yard of our house. when found, she had three very severely infected wounds in the rear over her hips - obviously talons from either a bald eagle or one of the huge great horned owls that were EVERYWHERE out there. she was a very lucky lady; she made a full recovery and lived a long happy life with the Raggedies, 5 other kitties and 2 rottweilers.

there was another orange tiger we'd found a cpl of years earlier in the same situation . . . he did not fare as well.

An acquaintance of mine is breeding-selling no-breed kittens for $200. So annoying. I'll find a free or nearly free one on my own. We recently lost a great mouser a few months ago.

I sincerely hope there is a special place in hell for people that abuse animals.

'friend' left skunk in trap to see how long he could live

I've started seeing no breed kittens going for good coin around here as well, central Iowa.

The only wounds I see on her are from tick bites. She also has some weird callouses on one front elbow. She is very chunky to have been in the woods. Way heavier than she appears.

Possibly but this is just bulk, she is solid. I will get her in for a check up as soon as I can get an appointment, hopefully this week. They are still doing that covid crap, curbside only! Some appts are three weeks out at times.

Yep. We had an emergency situation this past week with our female goose. I'm glad I live close to UGA. I've had to go there on 2 spate occasions and the facility and student/ doctors are amazing! I've also found that UGA vet school is about the same price as any vet around.

Sherry, she looks like our " Jackie " lab mix that we adopted from the shelter. White on her paws, and on her chest. We adopted her when she was supposedly about 6 mo old. We have had her for about 6 years now. We had other dogs, and she got along with all of them. We are now down to Jackie, and our Chow mix. He gets along with her. She has white around her snout now. She is still a frisky thing. We love her. I think strays & dogs out of the shelters really appreciate a new loving home. They have so much love to give, and really appreciate the love they get. She will be a really good companion for your pack, and for you !

I really believe if you keep her, God will provide you with what you need. You already have the heart !!

Let us know what you do.

Godspeed !!

We have never paid for a pet/animal/family member ever. All have either just shown up or have been rescues.
I've bought many purebred pups and horses, but my two heart companions...Lucky, an English Shepherd, and Princess, a half-Arabian, half Shetland pony were both rescues. I paid $25 for Princess as a starving 3 year old...she and I probably rode 10,000 miles together. She herded cows, carried baby calves to the barn, gave pony rides to babies and toddlers (but would buck a kid off who was being abusive!). Lucky was abandoned on a main road with the rest of his litter, and only two survived.

Both were THE best, ever...

I see why you're saying that (head/face shape, primarily) , but if she's got baby teeth yet, she's pretty young...

It’s the “strange callus on the elbow.” Puppies don’t get those. It takes years of laying on a rough surface.

That is why I used the word strange, she is just a pup, 3 mos max. I have no idea how she came to get those callouses, only on one side. I will ask the vet when she goes in.

Not if she was thrown from a car. Roadrash raises when new, dirt and all. If that's what it is she may be young enough for them to lay flat again. I've seen it as a vet tech a very long time ago.

My daughter rescued a very young kitten she saw thrown out of a car. Brought her home and she had a few spots of skin gone. Those areas raised up while they were healing but you can't find them today.

I don't know. What I do know is people suck.

Yep... or, possibly something like mange or ringworm.
