Thanks for posting this recipe!

However, I think my (ongoing) recovery from food poisoning (up all early wee hours Friday morning, and not because I wanted to be---leave it at that)--has left my brain still muddled---

I could have sworn when I first read the directions above that they read thusly:

Mix all ingredients together and then store in an armpit...

Low Sodium Seasoning Salt – Lawry’s Copycat Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cornstarch
Directions
Mix all ingredients together and then store in an airtight container.

Thank you. OC loves Lawry’s, I hate it because it’s so salty. And now I’m on a low sodium diet.

I love this stuff, Dan-O's seasoning, we like the spicy. Made in Kentucky, great on chicken, we even mix it in Catalina dressing for chip dip. Makes a great dressing too, olive oil, red and white vinegar, equal parts of all.

i thought everyone stored their season salt in an armpit for at least a day for aging.. gives that little extra 'tang' ya know? or is that just a red neck thing?
(hope you feel better soon!)

I had a heckuva time trying to find Old Bay seasoning recently. None of the local grocery stores had any, they were outrageously high on Amazon, etc. Finally found some at Dollar General when I wasn't even looking for it.

The problem is that these Lawry’s recipes are for the standard product (which is fine.) However, I want the lower sodium version.

That’d make about a tablespoon of it.
So, multiply it by 10! I make a version every few months... I dunno if the recipe posted is low sodium... I'd probably substitute "lite salt" for the sea salt.

Anyway, I multiplied the recipe to make 4 cups at a time...

Many ingredient plants that I serve are taking downtime right now. It’s a great time to upgrade lines and dyers when the restaurant business is slow. Probably one of their suppliers is holding up the mixing process.

Other than being weak as water (and AWFULLY sore in my back & side muscles---they don't get used 'that' way that often!) I'm slowly getting back to normal (except apparently have my tongue tied around my eye teeth & now I can't see straight)

You have all my sympathy darlin'. I went through it once. I didn't know a person could be that sick and live. It took several days to get back to normal.

It is weird how some things go missing from the shelves. I've read its because manufacturers are having trouble getting containers which are likely from China. Truth is no one seems to know what's going on or why.

I'd make this up using the small recipe and try it before I made a gallon of the stuff.

Was getting low on Lawry’s low sodium season salt. Added it to my list. Not at H-E-B. Not at Wally’s. None on Amazon. None on any websites.

I mean WTH!!???? I need that. Why the hell would that be out EVERYWHERE?

Could be that all of it has been bought by others.

Production line is probably making more popular products. It may even be manufactured by someone else and packaged for Lawry's.
