It's 'Too Late' for America, We're under Judgment, Says California Pastor

"When you see a nation deep in sexual sin, pervasively affirming of homosexuality, and the insanity of a reprobate mind, where they make laws to criminalize righteousness and to legalize gross evil, you know that nation's under judgment . . . "

John MacArthur — a popular Protestant preacher and author — delivered the sermon, "Too Late for Grace: When a Nation Rejects God" to his congregation on Palm Sunday. MacArthur's primary text was from the Parable of the Vineyard Owner (Mark 12:1-12), where a vineyard owner allowed tenants to oversee his vineyard when he went to another country. The vineyard owner sent slaves to the tents to collect the vineyard's fruit throughout their stay, but the tenants would beat them or kill them.

In his message, MacArthur explained that the parable was about judgment, saying that "with this parable," Jesus "pledges the destruction of Jerusalem and the nation."

webrns-macarthur-open2-072720.jpg

"Vengeance will come, and it must come, and it did," MacArthur said, referring to the destruction of Jerusalem by the Roman Empire in 70 AD.

MacArthur also referred to other biblical figures, such as the prophet Isaiah and the apostle Paul who delivered messages of judgment and that it was "too late" for some to be saved, respectively.

Paraphrasing God's call to Isaiah in Isaiah Chapter 6, MacArthur said, "Go tell them it's too late. You wouldn't listen, you wouldn't see, you wouldn't believe, and now you can't."

"Tell them it is too late. Judgment is already in motion," he added.

Citing Romans 1 in the New Testament, MacArthur further elaborated what it looks like for a nation that's already under God's judgment, including America.

"When you see a nation deep in sexual sin, pervasively affirming of homosexuality, and the insanity of a reprobate mind, where they make laws to criminalize righteousness and to legalize gross evil, you know that nation's under judgment," he asserted.

"What's our message to this nation?" MacArthur asked. "You're under judgment; it's too late. Judgment has been unleashed. You can hear but not understand. You can see but not perceive."

I know. You do not know. If you disagree you are deceived.

This kind of egomania irks me to no end.

Guys I just don't see it. God's flock is being oppressed and the persecutions have been steadily increasing in severity. Not going to deny that many are falling by the wayside. The Spirit of those who remain true is being tested and strengthened.

A massive spiritual revival may be in the works. Maybe world wide? God has a truly wicked sense of humor. The left may underestimate or second guess him, not me.

I don't trust a man who lives in opulence and rags on others who do the same... I know that he does lie and preaches that there's still forgiveness after taking the mark.

THAT is heresy, when you preach that God's Word is not true. Rev 14:9-11 warns us that whoever worships the beast or its statue, whoever is branded on his forehead or his hand condemns those to eternal torment in fire in the presence of the angels and Jesus.

JMac is a false teacher and will suck the hope right out of you if you take his lies to heart.

I've warned all of you about him. Do what you will with it, but you can't convince me that you can take the mark and come back unscathed from that... That makes REV 14:9-11 a lie. God is not a liar.

You can have a revival and a repentance of hearts while a nation is under judgment. The two are not mutually exclusive. Some will be saved, others won't. As in the days of Noah...

Don’t miss the other articles beneath the original one at the link. This Russian-faith web site does some great reporting.

One article there identifies college courses that currently teach “the queering of children” and “the queering of the Bible.” Disturbing, to say the least.

Keep in mind that John MacArthur has been pastoring the same church in Los Angeles since the late 1960s. He has had a front row seat for the epic decline of post-Christian America. He has a brilliant mind, and regardless of one’s faith-affiliation, this is a man worth listening to. Not your typical preacher. He often attacks, by name, the preachers who “live in opulence.”

If God does not chastise this country for its terrible sins and turning away from his ways, he would have to apologize to Sodom and Gomora. God has shown his great patience, but at some point that ends.

Seriously does anyone not see that in today's America there is a remnant who seek to do his will, but if your eyes are open you see the downfall of the majority everywhere in the land.

Evil waxes over every part of the land. 63 million unborn murdered voices that will never be heard on this earth. Debauchery, hatred, good called bad and bad called good, corrupt rulers serving a debased corrupted people.

Pray for a great revival and keep your own lamps full, because the same lawlessness as in the times of Noe, are alive and well in this formerly blessed and protected country.

I would ask folks like him to, Please explain this to the thousands of Christians and other Good people being slaughtered Worldwide daily by the forces of evil.

What he is saying in this video has nothing to do with your question.

Through out history "thousands of Christians and other Good people being slaughtered Worldwide by the forces of evil".

Nothing new here.

But you are right they are being slaughtered by EVIL.

What on earth makes you think that Pastor MacArthur lives in opulence? Do you know that for a fact? Because I had a pastor (eight years, including being his church secretary for several years) who personally knew John MacArthur -- had been a member of MacArthur's church for fifteen years, and was head of the security staff there -- and he had great respect for the man. Said he wasn't necessarily always right, but none of us are. I would hesitate to be so critical of him.

As for what he said, I agree, and have thought for several years that we are past the point where this nation could make a come-back. Even when Trump was President, we didn't see any great revival or turning back to God. From here on out, the church is going to come under increasingly harsh persecution, and the rest of the nation will increasingly turn away from God. It's the time of the separating of the wheat and the chaff for America.

Those of us who are saved should be thankful for our salvation, and also be preparing ourselves spiritually to be strong, and to be able to encourage and strengthen our brothers and sisters in Christ (of any denomination). I don't know what is coming, but we can all see that it's going to be hard. Get in the Word daily; pray; join in fellowship with other believers (this is commanded by God, not an optional item, for those who believe). Witness when you have an opportunity. Repent of your own sins, and ask God to help you live a holy life. And keep your eyes on 'things above,' on God, on our Savior Jesus Christ, on Heaven.

I do not agree with John MacArthur on every single point, but in this article, he is absolutely correct. I've been believing for some time now that America is at the point of no return. I'm also reminded in Scripture where God says that, because of their wickedness, we should no longer pray for them (America). I believe we are also at that point.

For those who question why Christians around the world are being killed and persecuted by evil, the Bible calls them martyred saints. Murdered and persecuted for their faith in Christ.

So they are martyred; we're just judged because of where we were born and have it coming? M'kay. Makes sense.

What country do you all feel would have God's favor right now? In what countries is there the least sin and most faithful devotion? Just curious where the line sits right now.

I don't know that there is any one country that is actually following God right now. I think some of the former Soviet Bloc countries are probably doing better than we are at standing up against some of the evil we see, because they've already lived through it once. But that doesn't necessarily mean that they have turned back to God.

Agree, John MacArthur's opulent life style false accusations have been debunked. His accusers need prayer.

This was covered in TWO threads in RelSig;

I bet you won't check it out... But JMac has been exposed as a false teacher, liar AND hides his opulence.

Yep, as far back as David Wilkerson God gave out future judgement saying that America would not repent as a nation.
That would be true if you took the nation of born again believers out of the picture. CC, there are many nations inside of the USA. All but one won't repent of their sins, but the Christian nation does have people praying and repenting in their stead, standing in the gap so to speak.

That much is undeniable no matter how the doomsayers cut it, slice it and twist it...

MacArthur, in the message in the OP, mentions God’s covenant nation, Israel, as going past the point of redemption as a nation at different times in their history. Conquered and taken captive, first by the Assyrians, later by the Babylonians, and finally crushed by the Romans in 70 AD, why? Because they had rejected God’s truth and hardened their hearts.

MacArthur speaks of the “believing remnant” that always exists, even when nations turn away from God, but he makes the case that nations can reach a point where they become so hardened in their opposition to God’s truth that they cannot see/hear/change.

He makes a compelling case, as do many who have posted on this thread.

Pride goes before destruction. Buckle up, America. You have been weighed in the balance and have been found wanting.

MEN do not tell God what to do. It's the other way around ... even though there are a lot of men who like to threaten "God's gonna get you for that" on behalf of their own beliefs.

Yeah, but God will "get you" for things. But it won't be for what mankind does to humanity but how mankind disobeys the Creator.
