Everybody is Irish on St. Patti's Day so let's hoist a glass to our friends across the big pond. The Milwaukee Arch Bishop has waived the Friday Lent dietary restrictions and the City Council has allowed the bars to stay open 24 hours. It's good to be Irish!

Our musical menu is wide open this weekend so lets have a celebration!

:spns: The Ground Rules :spns:

- Any music genre is acceptable.

- Don't knock somebody else's music, your taste may be crap also.

- Label your videos as PG or PG-13 as required.

- Add lyrics or screen shots as you see fit.

- Drink responsibly, use a glass.

- Runtimes are not required unless it is an exceptionally long video. (i.e. full concerts)

The Who-- "905"
This song was written by bassist John Entwhistle. Entwhistle was not a profilic songwriter, he usually contributed 1 or 2 of the songs on a Who album. His songs often featured humor, satire, and irony. I especially like this tune "905" as it contains science fiction and ethical issues seldom addressed in rock songs.
905 is the name given to a cloned boy who is born in an incubator and then raised in suspended animation. The boy grows to a man and then struggles with the meaningless of his dehumanized existence. Lyrics appear below:

Mother was an incubator
Father was the contents
Of a test tube in the ice box
In the factory of birth

My name is 905
And I've just become alive
I'm the newest populator
Of the planet we call Earth

In suspended animation
My childhood passed me by
If I speak without emotion
Then you know the reason why

Knowledge of the universe
Was fed into my mind
As my adolescent body
Left its puberty behind

And everything I know is what I need to know
And everything I do's been done before
Every sentence in my head
Someone else has said
At each end of my life is an open door

Automatically defrosted
When manhood came on time
I became a man
I left the "ice school" behind

Now I'm to begin
The life that I'm assigned
A life that's been used before
A thousand times

I have a feeling deep inside
That something is missing
It's a feeling in my soul
And I can't help wishing

That one day I'll discover
That we're living a lie
And I'll tell the whole world
The reasons why

But, until then, all I know is what I need to know
And everything I do's been done before
Every idea in my head
Someone else has said
At each end of my life is an open door
