In this video, we’re going to take a look at the official launch of the Italexit campaign, what the polls are showing in terms of Italian support for leaving the EU, and how pundits are more and more recognizing that a successful Italexit will indeed mark the end of the EU; you’re not going to want to miss this!

I vote for "not likely." From my observations Italy does a lot of grandstanding, usually to get better terms in whatever dispute they're in. I could be wrong, but I'm thinking Italy is "considering" this in order to get some concessions from the EU, perhaps because Italy is among the worst (I think) in the EU for exceeding budget deficits.

Though it could back fire as with Britain leaving. Germany considering it along with some of the Netherlands, the tax base would crumble and they could literally call the bluff and say without you we can stay solvent with less tax contributing countries.

I think that's the point. Italy needs to control its own money so it can dilute its way out of debt.

Only if you think ordinary Italians have completely forgotten their experiences from twenty years ago. Recall that their freaking coins were in the hundreds and thousands of Lire before they adopted the Euro. So the government may want that monetary power again but I imagine the population probably not so much. I stick by my opinion that it's just the Italians making a lot of noise over some kind of negotiation with the EU, but of course I could be wrong.
