Well it had to come huh!

It is so easy to grow and it grows on most stuff.

Bill Gates is into it big! I mean growing it big in South Africa.

I will give you a good tip. Grow it yourself so you know what it was raised upon. Could be Solvent Green

Meal worms cooked in a wok might be tasty. I have experienced food insecurity, an insipid phrase for that awful realization that there is nothing to eat and no money to buy food with.

AgriProtein to set up world’s first fly farm in South Africa

Friday, 20 February 2015 12:49

Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-funded firm AgriProtein has announced to establish world’s first commercial fly farm in South Africa as part of a project to produce sustainable feed for fish from fly larvae

Although AgriProtein has South African approval, it is still banned in Europe due to a regulation prohibiting the feeding of livestock with processed meat and MagMeal falls into this category. (Image source: Max Mayorov/Flickr)
According to AgriProtein, its MagMeal product can replace costly fishmeal by a sustainable, natural source of protein for farmed animals as well as eliminate garbage.
Jason Drew, co-founder of AgriProtein, said that the company has raised US$11mn to build its first commercial farm, which will house 8.5bn flies. This facility will be the first in a series of 40 such farms to be developed in South Africa.
"AgriProtein has an agreement with Cape Town’s waste disposal agency, which will help them to deal with the garbage of a city of four million inhabitants,” added Drew.
The process is based on common flies laying their eggs on garbage. These eggs rapidly turn into larvae, eating the waste as they grow. It is calculated that one kilogramme of eggs becomes 380 kg of larvae in just three days, revealed Drew.
“After a few days, before they become flies, the larvae are collected, washed and pressurised into MagMeal, becoming feed for fish farms,” he noted.
The business is also supported by private companies such as Australia’s Twynam Group and Germany’s s.Oliver, said Drew.

AgriProtein is evolving
AgriProtein’s holding company is accelerating and broadening its global mission to develop sustainable, insect-based nutrient recycling solutions. The holding company will change its name in the coming weeks to the “Insect Technology Group”

Pride comes before the fall.....Pride month ended.
It's interesting that they are still taking live animals for food. Insects or cows and chickens? I'll pass on the insects.

So Bill Gates buys up massive amounts for American Farmland and lets it stay fallow creating a problem. Then Gates offers a solution by importing insects as food?

But you were not forced... this is force, plannned and executed in every way.
I absolutely do not want to eat bugs and will not appreciate being forced to eat bugs. Military survival training includes eating bugs, so it's not totally off the table. Pun intended.

Hard pass on fly larvae. But mealworms look crunchy while alive, so maybe.
They may look crunchy, but they are not. I raise them for my chickens. Prior to feeding them to the birds, I pinch the head off since they have little pinchers there. Don't want the birds' crops to have problems. Don't know if they would but gotta' be safe.

Anyway, when I pinch the head off, there is lots of goo. I would never be able to eat that! If dried or freeze dried...wouldn't matter. That stuff would still be there. Yuk.

But the birds love them! :-)

I was down the street at a friends house on Friday having a beer,
and he asked if we wanted to go out to eat.
Said they have a new menu at the Bug Shop.
Wanted to try the new Cockroach stuffed jalapenos.

yea see, THAT never happened.
and until it does an "Earnest" switch to bug eating has not started.

Remember back in grade school when the playground monitor said
"You better stop picking on the snot nosed, bug eaters because
one day they are gonna be in charge and they are gonna get even!"

(Bill Gates . . . can't you see him in 3rd grade, sanding in the playground with that green coming out his nose)

Yeah, I thought only americans were stupid...turns out the whole world is infected with stupidity. How retarded do you have to be to start eating this shit.

Its not that they're retarded per se, its that their leaders and our leaders all share a common thread which is focused on the enslavement and servitude of all of us non (((tribe))) members

NOPE!! NO!! NADA!! NYET!!

Got 1/2 a cow and 1/2 a hog in the freezers.....so I'm good for a while! Gathering up gear to build an aquaponics system, so that will cover veggies, fish, crawdads and maybe freshwater prawns. Have considered a "soldier fly" hatchery to feed the fish and chickens but that's a close at bugs will get into my diet.

Found a $1000, 3hp, single phase motor on clearance for $250.

Will work on the commercial meat saw I got for scrap prices.

Some projects just take time to come together...for the right price.

Working on a skid mounted, walk-in cooler for nothing. (needs refrigeration...but I know a guy)

Allows for storing of a lot of food...on the hoof.

It is the modus for robber barons.

Capture/control the supply, then cause situations that result in "bidding up" the supply.

Jay Gould/Jim Fisk did it in 1869 with GOLD. Of course theirs was a world in which gold played a much larger role in transfer of wealth. Black Friday (1869) - Wikipedia

The early/late 1970s "Oil Crisis" was similar.

World Economic Forum is doing it now - but they're trying to correct the mistakes of the past by not relying on ONE commodity. Instead they create alliances with GOVERNMENTS to "catch the loose ends."

If your country is good in food production (Netherlands) - they limit food production by government edict. If your country is good in consumer goods (China) - they limit production of consumer manufacture by pandemic lock-downs. If your country is good at semi-conductor production (Taiwan) then they cause an invasion to cut into output. If your country is good at oil production (Brazil) then they fraudulently elect a communist thug and stop oil production "in the name of the people."

Russia is probably the only government that has not seen a government imposition. Russia continues as an "outlier" to the WEF. But they remain "useful" to the WEF through a pursuit of war. Although the implications of a China/Russia alliance in the Ukraine war is foreboding.

The whole Ukraine affair may be thought of as "energy/value sink." A way to dispose of national wealth and reduce the economic standing on BOTH sides of the conflict.

War is good at that. This is what Robber Barons do - play both sides against the middle.

And benefit from the spoils of war.
