If the poop hits the fan, I do have plans for ratting.

After bagging a half dozen, I'll chop them up into stew meat, make a stew with wild greens and feed the good naighbors if need be. Call it rat I on ing stew.

That's my kind of ratting.

I wish the government would quit rationing INTELLIGENCE! I'm not sure where they are keeping it stored/warehoused. Certainly not in the Congress, the media, or with bureaucrats at any level. They got to be keeping stashed somewhere......but where? There's such a short supply of INTELLIGENCE everywhere. You just look around and you don't see it anywhere. Surely they understand that we're in middle of a YUGE stupidity crisis? :hlp::shr::popcorn3:

I scramble a couple dozen, cook then bag up in smaller bags and freeze. Then I do the same of scrambling a couple dozen, add a small spoon of salt, don't cook, then freeze them in the muffin tins or even ice cube trays. Count em as 2 in each holder. Freeze and bag.

WanderLore, how do you thaw and heat your little packets of frozen scrambled eggs? I found that what works best for me is to steam them on a spatter screen with the screen and eggs covered with the lid to the pan I'm using. My sis just tosses hers in a frying pan with a tiny dab of butter and on a low setting. But this doesn't soften them enough for me as I can't wear dentures and also have to be very careful swallowing. Lately I cut the scrambled eggs up super fine and then mash them up with a fork after they are heated.

I thought it was interesting, especially how different the world is right now. Back then most people would do what was best for the country, regardless of what they "wanted".

Plus they had the self control to do what was required.I don't think the average American has the planning and budgetary skills needed to deal with it.I agree with those that rationing will be accomplished by shortages and prices.

I have done this with eggs, mist them heavily with a spray water bottle, let soak in for a while. Then heat slowly. Almost always gets them able to be eaten. Even then, sometimes I have to use a roller chopper thing I have, has several blades, just roll back and forth differing directions. Using the grease screen to heat, I'm gonna have to try!

I have a couple of those multi-bladed rolling slicers, too, and have thought about using them for the eggs, but I'd want to do this before I put them in the freezer. That way I wouldn't have the mess of the slicer and the cutting board to clean up every time I wanted to eat my scrambled eggs.

I've been experimenting with the various ways to fix my eggs. Lately I just scramble 6 at a time and that's good for three meals and the two days in the fridge for the second and third servings seem to be pretty safe.

If the eggs are frozen, the spatter screen is better than a steamer basket because no pieces fall into the water even when the eggs are very finely chopped.

Maybe some day I will see if I can find my little meat grinder. It even has a nut butter blade.

I agree, most people actually loved this country, unlike the haters of today.

Pride comes before the fall.....Pride month ended.
Aldis has had limits for the last two or more months on canned foods. The other day they had two twelve packs o Dakota baked beans on the shelf, limit two cans per person. All but gone for the last three weeks on beans, limits of two cans on most veggies and fruits. I’d call that rationing.

lots of empty space. Stock up folks.
