Is it possible to purchase Hydroxychloroquine ANYWHERE? I understand that you can't even get it IF you could get a prescription.

I don't know. I have no problems with getting my prescriptions refilled. I take it for other reasons than C-19.

You can try insulinhub.com, a British Company. Leave the prescription line blank. and answer the questions regarding your use of the HCQ. I said that I was using as a prophylaxis regarding Covid-19. A doctor in their organization will write your prescription. Received mine about 6 weeks after order.
Happy as could be to have it.

First batch, before Trump mentioned, had dr friend write me a prescription.

Then, also got some from...
Search results for: 'Hydroxychloroquine'
...who looks to be currently sold-out, but might be worth keeping an eye on.

Then, had friend going over to mexico border town down here for some, so
had him pick me up some more then, too. So, if you know anybody near the
border, you might explore that with them. (Canadian pharmacies, maybe?)

Finally, and most recently, got some more HCQ via https://insulinhub.com
Best to call before placing order; 1-866-446-7854 (24 Hrs.) They'll walk you
through the process of purchasing in lieu of having a written prescription.

They are probably your best bet, but I'd also hound my doctor for some, or
tell him you are going on a trip to someplace with malaria & need it for that.

BTW, I know doctors & smart people taking it (w/zinc) daily prophylacticly.
Downside risk of doing so is minimal, especially if it wards off COVID, IMO.

Watch this if you can, it's live right now, so not sure if you'll still be able to...

I'd loaded up on HCQ cause it'll be my go-to for any serious RNA virus in the future, too,
be it a nasty flu with complications, or something else concocted in some future evil lab.

Bringing this thread back to life rather than start a new one. I ordered hydroxychloroquine from insulinhub.com about a month ago. I ordered 225 tablets and the price was $245. They also added zinc pills. The order was placed at the beginning of September and got here today. Came from India.

I've looked up dosage figures which were surprisingly difficult to come by. The swamp techies don't make it easy. Used Duckduck go.

As I stated in another thread, I get a bottle every month from CVS. I take it for RA. doesn’t see to be difficult to acquire in the least.

I was prescribed it, so I’m assuming it requires a prescription...not sure though.

Just ordered from vitacost.com my regular supply (and received) of quercetin with bromelain which I have been using for the last 5-6 years. Because of info someone posted here awhile back, I have also added zinc picolinate to my daily regimen.

A friend recently had a chat with his friend and Doc in a social setting (ie gin and tonic were included). They had long discussion about hydroxychloroquine. Early on, our dipshit Governor issued an executive order restricting pharmacists to only fill HQ prescriptions for 'appropriate' diagnoses, no off label use. He rescinded that order last month, but the big corporate pharmacies are still refusing to fill prescriptions for off label use. The doctor said he is trying right now to find out if some of the smaller pharmacies will.

I had ordered from ADC back when this started. The shipment appeared to never leave India and they issued me a refund. Early last month it showed up. Lucked out.

First off, I'm sorry to hear about your having RA.

If a patient has RA or Lupus, docs can prescribe and pharmacies will dispense hydroxychloroquine. There are probably a few independent docs around here who will prescribe it, but I can't find them. The pharmacies are tight lipped about what doctors will prescribe it. My doc told me they can't. He is part of a large medical group and the suits have made it clear that the medicine can only be prescribed per FDA guidelines. Cleveland Clinic and University Hospital systems are the same. It's my guess that every other medical institution in this state follow what Cleveland Clinic or UH do since those two are the 800 pound gorillas in the business.

If in Ohio, I would investigate either Metro (Cleveland Metro General, the not for profit County hospital of last resort (~~snicker~~) or St Vincents (Sisters of Mercy hospital) if you want to continue Doc Shopping and you happen to be near CLE.

OSU Med Center in COLS (Da Cow Town where we keep our Legislature and GOV) might also be worth a try, depending on how much you want to grovel. Though whoever actually DOES write for you, if they're honest, will go through the contra-indications (there are several) and what NOT to take it with, and the side effects. Be ready to ACCEPT the 15-20 minute lecture AND to sign away ALL liability for the doc. AND understand that you won't have ANY recourse with an other than optimal result.

This too shall pass.
My daughter takes it for lupus, and we haven't had any trouble getting it (KY). However, the pharmacist made sure her prescription was actually for lupus before he'd fill it.

way back machine....

A South Korean research paper has demonstrated in Vitro that by increasing the Zinc concentration in cellular cytoplasm, that viral replication is inhibited. As intracellular levels of Zinc are increased the inhibition of viral replication can reach 100% according to charts within the paper. The researchers used two antimalarial drugs which are Ionophores. Ionophores are molecules that can carry a charged ion like Zinc across a cellular membrane. South Korea has been treating high risk, Critically I’ll COVID-19 patients with the drug Hydroxychloroquine. It is likely the single clinical reason that South Korea has the lowest death rate in the world for COVID-19 victims of 0.6% Hydroxychloroquine is a pharmaceutical drug that requires a prescription. However there is a nutritional supplement called Quercetin that is a Zinc Chelator and Ionophore and requires no prescription. It’s interesting that there has been a great deal of research done on the ability of Elderberries as and antiviral agent. And Elderberries, Red Wine and Blueberries all three have high amounts of Quercetin. It may be likely that the high Quercetin content of these foods is the reason for their measurable anti-viral properties. So what would be better than supplementing Zinc and Quercetin together to elevate intracellular Zinc levels in order to inhibit viral replication? Since there have been no Clinical Trials of this supplement regimen then dosages are your best guess. But even increasing Zinc to levels that result in a thirty percent inhibition seems like a major advantage to the patient, and may be enough to tip the struggle in your favour.

Docs in a large, multi doc practice will not prescribe it.
Small independent practice docs are much more likely to be sympathetic to your request. It helps to be a long time patient. My son is a nurse practitioner and when news about it being used for Covid first came out, offered to write a prescription.
If you believe in it, I wouldn't take it constantly as a prophylactic, but having some to take at the first sign of illness might not be a bad idea. Taking it all the time when not needed might be risking all the side effects that have been talked about.
If you want something to take constantly, I'd go with the vitamins and minerals recommended by several here to boost your immune system and save the hydroxy for if you become sick.

At ADC I signed up to be notified when HCQ was available, never received notification. After reading this thread I checked and they had some in stock. I just ordered from ADC and INSULINHUB (thanks for the info, never ordered from them before). I will update when I receive the order althought it may be a bit of time. My last ADC order from earler this year took 5 weeks.

This is not medical advice, but...

I'd been told typical course of treatment with HCQ and zinc and an antibiotic is five days.

And, ideally commenced as early as possible when symptoms first present, often not waiting for delayed test results.

Initial loading dose of one 200mg HCQ every 8 hours that first day, then just one tab every 12 hours for the next four days.

Prophylactic (preventative) treatment is one 200mg tab every day. No antibiotic.

Nutritional zinc supplement with both above.

Obviously, first follow your own physicians course of action as he/she best
knows your personal medical history, conditions and current medications.

Link?
Rx required?

Yes, at this time, it's a prescription drug in the USA. There is talk of making it over the counter, but don't hold your breath. 60 tabs for $22 is cheap to me. Now if I could find some Zinc! I started to ask my Doctor for a script the other day, but we had a lot of ground to cover at my appointment. I did tell him I'm taking 5000 units of Vitamin D, twice a day. He said that was too much and to cut down to once a day, or get some lower dose and take twice a day. He made a note in my file, that I was taking it as a preventative for Covid.

Application late in the progression of the disease has shown little positive effect, which is one of the things they've been pointing to to say "See, doesn't work!!" while simultaneously ignoring the timing issue. At least, that's my take on what I've seen ...

Which is why I've been leaning towards supplementation with Vit. C, Zinc, Quercetin, Vitamin D, and Elderberry. Give a body time in advance to be ready should an inoculation occur.

Originally found out about Quercetin in Dr. Sehult's MedCram video #35 (iirc) on you tube.

Dr. John Campbell recently had an update citing 2 studies showing a very positive effect regarding having enough Vitamin D - it improved outcomes drastically even though the Patients were already admitted to the hospital. There was also a very positive correlation with having low vit. D and becoming symptomatic with Covid-19.

YMMV, Do Your Own Research, In All Things To Thine Own Self Be True, Don't sweat the petty things or pet the sweaty things, etc. etc.

AllDay is an Indian company, no rx required, do your research. I have not had a problem ordering and receiving drugs from them with the exception that once, only once, within 20 minutes of placing my order my card was used at Microsoft gaming. That was a long, long time ago and I think their system is much improved.

I got ours from Insulin Hub. Very good service. My first order got hung up in customs, so they sent me another one. I received it, and the pills and packaging were in pristine condition. The lost order finally was delivered and Insulin Hub told me to keep it, no charge.
