chinese food. eat till you're full. 15 minutes later, you're starving and waiting for the conveyor belt to start again.

So true, however, I found at the Japanese Hibachi in Des Moines they do have veggies on their buffet, like broccoli, green beans, eggplant, etc., and if you eat some of that you might actually last an hour before becoming hungry again.

They had a conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Crossroads in Bellevue WA. Don't recall seeing it in operation, just setting up. Wonder how that went.

Do you know how long ago this was? Wonder if it's still there?

Are any of these restaurants in the US?
Here are the two closest to me here in central Iowa, there's one in Omaha, Nebraska, and there's one in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Fresh, beautiful sushi rolls, Japanese favorites, and more -- all served in a relaxed, modern space! Yamato Sushi is the first and only conveyor belt sushi restaurant in the entire Nebraska area!

Must have been '19, I guess.

I typed "sushi conveyor belt restaurants in the US" and came up with quite a few places, there seems to be at least one in each state and Kura is a national chain of conveyor sushi places. I didn't see anything come up for Washington state but that doesn't mean there isn't one there.

Hey Dennis... check this out! You mentioned the chinese buffets in your area shuttering after covid, this place is still open and they have Gyoza, aka dumplings.

That was a lot of food for two people. Even in my prime, eating half would have been a challenge.

Texican....

I’ve always been amazed at how much food Asians eat. It’s typically one big meal a day with constant snacking in bits of stuff throughout the day.

DD took me to one in TriCities WA; fun & tasty. Priced by the plate IIRC (like Dim Sum in San Francisco way back in the day) but she paid so I don't really know how much. That was before COVID so I don't know if it's still open.
