I'm hoping this one rolls off North of me. The one last week was crazy. I woke up to the sound of hail and rain at 4 am. Then the lightning and thunder like I've never heard or seen. It was like a strobe light for 20 minutes. I videoed it for a few minutes then got tired of the show and went in. I bet anyone with epilepsy would have had a seizure.

I think we've had over 4" of rain this evening so far...can't see the rain gauge to be sure; right now, heavy rain is still falling. Thankfully, our house is on high ground, but I am worried about our stock ponds...this is coming down far faster than they can likely drain the excess naturally. Internet is in and out. Power holding in our area so far, but have heard of outages nearby. We're under a flash flood warning for a good while.

We had hail for a while, quarter-sized plus. This is about the worst rain we've seen here in the 15 yrs we've been here. Truly hate night storms. The high, gusty winds in the dark scares the willies out of me. Always worried about tornadoes.

Y'all stay safe. I'd tell ya to head for the basement, but you don't have them. Stay safe. You all know what you're doing.

Stupid old dog, started thundering bad, so greatdane hides next to my bed, when he was younger he would hop into my bed.

Wakes me up. Now I can't sleep. Was 4 am. Thunder was intense for a few.

We had a pretty big storm blow thru Austin last night. Lots of rain, wind and thunder. Scared the dog so bad she crawled up under my office desk. Quite a sight - a big dog squeezed into such a small place. Total of 2 inches rain came hard and fast. No hail - this time. :)

We got well over 8" of rain, still waiting for the official total. We have an 8" gauge and it filled up last evening after dark, but it rained all night heavily, so I'm not sure how much we got. We had two rounds of quarter-sized hail, way too much lightning, plenty of thunder and strong winds.

Power went out last evening, finally came on a while ago. Schools all around us are closed due to flooding, many roads closed in our area due to flooding. More rain is in the forecast. Huntsville, TX about an hr to our south declared an emergency, they got upwards of 16" of rain, many roads closed due to flooding, many homes flooded.

Not a fun night, but it could have been worse.

I don't envy your tornados but at least you get a warning. It's these earthquakes that hit out of nowhere keep me on edge.
I hope there are no more severe ones in your towns. Prayers for everyone's safety.

One of my Brothers lives near Livingston, Tx which is North of Houston. He said the city of Livingston is flooded, and his area may be cut off as well.

Evening hours last night was when we had the most thunder and lightning, dog freaking out. I went to bed at 11pm and slept through the night. The good news here is that Lake Travis/Colorado River, which has been at an almost record low due to drought, got a good inflow from the heavy rainfall near Llano - that is where our refills have to come from (we are just northwest of Austin by the Lake). Because of all the hills here, we are not really at risk for severe tornadoes, thank God - they seem to like the flatlands. We only flood when Lake Travis overflows.
