I don’t know if this warrants its own thread, however I came across the #ppploan/#ppp hashtag on Instagram. Biden is infuriating his base on this one. He extended the 2 year fraud investigation time to 10 years (as most of you know.) I was having a difficult time figuring out why so many new IRS agents….. this explains some of it…
Now, before anyone goes off on how stupid the loan was in the first place or how idiotic it was for someone to apply for it, keep this in mind: The PPP Loan pushers took strong aim at independent contractors…. of which I was one in 2020. People we’re losing their jobs left and right and entered the gig economy. People from all walks of life took on a side hustle/gigs (smart people, stupid people, people of every race/gender/ethnicity/religion… perhaps you catch my drift). This IS a gig economy. A lot of people STAYED in the GIG industry (you wonder why restaurants can’t find workers? Because you can make more as a delivery driver, or at least could until these gas prices.) And as a part of the gig industry, I noticed a strong liberal slant on gig Facebook pages.
I personally had several side-hustles. I taught English to Chinese kids via the internet (I know… many of you know this ad nauseam.) I also delivered food for a few companies. And, I belonged to their Facebook groups and read them and contributed to them. That PPP loan was a huge deal and was a main thread in every forum/FB page I belonged to. So many of these people who got suckered into applying for that loan (because the PSAs on them WERE enticing) are now kicking themselves and are in great fear of the IRS because the government is actually going to enforce the stipulations and will hunt their butts for 10 years. Those PSAs for PPP loans got a ton of people applying for them who didn’t know the legal ramifications with the IRS. Now social influencers are sounding off and it’s NOT in Biden’s favor. They are freaking out over the 85,000 +/- IRS gestapo agents WITH GUNS who are going to have 10 years to track down all these people who quite possibly did not understand what they got themselves into with that loan. A lot of those people who are freaking out appear to be Biden/Democrat voters. I’m watching the hashtag on Twitter, as well.
I’ve never believed an outright physical Civil War would/could happen… until now. Perhaps Biden’s 85,000 IRS agents WHO WILL BE ARMED AND WILLING TO USE DEADLY FORCE will be one side and Dems/Reps will actually come together against the IRS? Do I think THAT would happen? Not really. But, I listened to a couple rappers who were rapping about it and dropping Biden’s name. Just sayin. I listened to several minority influencers who are sounding the alert to their followers. This is going to be a hard pill to swallow for these ICers’s who thought that the government was trying to help them but in the back of their head, knew there was a catch. A big one. Some took the bait. Most did not. But Biden will take the fall on this.
Anyway…. this is something that might be interesting to watch as November gets closer. Biden should have waited until AFTER the election to announce this one.
