The Social Security Act was signed into law in 1935 and the Demo☭oms™ have been accusing Republicans of wanting to eliminate it in every election since 1936. It was bullshit then and it is bullshit now. The quickest way to get the masses marching on DC with pitchforks and ropes would be trying to eliminate their SS payments. It would affect too many people across all lines to go uncontested. :ld:

SO, here are the rules:
It is a DEFERRED, for the period 9/1 to 12/31. not gone.
Repayment commences 1/1/2021, to be paid back during the period of 1/1/21 to 4/30/21. If the employee cannot pay it back, it becomes the responsibility of the employer.

Preliminary discussions in the company I run is that we will take a pass on deferring taxes till 2021.

They will increase the tax rate.
and then they will say that 70 is the new 40 and push full retirement to 68,
and then they will reduce cost of living increases
and then they will simply print create more inflation

I built a house in 1998. cost about $200,000. I pulled up the house on Zillow yesterday.
In 2020, that house is estimated at $740,000.
Now that is some inflation for you

Of course govt can do whatever they want, they have the guns and jails, and they often do.
Now I rather doubt that any substantial changes or outright stopping of SS will happen, however,

a few months ago who'd have thunk that mayors, governors, of some big cities and states would allow let alone encourage destruction of their own cities and states by riots and looting. certainly they know what they are doing, probably following marching orders from above, obviously couldn't give a sh*t about the citizens.

suppose this commie group decided to screw with SS to create more chaos. na, never happen, would it?

Democrats always threaten social security, the military payroll, and veterans benefits. Nothing will happen to any of these, because that voting base is HUGE. They just want to incite fear.

DH got paid today and there was the same payroll tax taken out of it as usual. I guess we'll see on the next check if his company is participating in the new payroll tax EO.
