DISASTER I SAW (optical illusion?)FLAMES coming out of BP oil spill pipe with oil!!

ainitfunny

Saved, to glorify God.
I couldn't believe my eyes, but it you look RIGHT NOW at the BP UNDERWATER CAM you will see FLAMES coming out of the pipe with the oil. I can't get a good screen capture on it.

I had to watch for a while to believe it. But there is NO DOUBT. Of course the water quickly extinguishes the flame as it shoots out like a torch.

ENLARGE THE WEB CAM TO FULL SCREEN OR AT LEAST 200% TO SEE IT. (This webcam YOU CAN ENLARGE)

edited to add: see post #62- I have been pretty much convinced now that what I see is an optical illusion. (SEE, I am not unteachable.)

I just zoomed in and made it full screen here, but I don't see the flames, can you take a screen cap and circle where they were? Or was it a different view and they just changed to the one that shows the end of the riser?

I can see an occassional white flickering from the opening of the pipe as well...I am not sure I would call that flames but I can see that when the oil isn't swirling around the opening.

the EDGE of the pipe has to be visible to see the flames. THEY VARY in size and if you watch for a while you will see there is nothing else they could be. I have spent quite a while watching, I never saw it before. If you watch long enough you will see IT LOOKS LIKE FIRE, flames, nothing else looks exactly like fire.

GO FULL SCREEN TO SEE IT MORE CLEARLY WHEN THE PIPE END BECOMES VISIBLE.

I saw it too, but figured I was imagining it! They were very close to the pipe and didn't come shooting way out but I am sure that's what I saw. Or at least it looked like flames!

Boy am I glad someone else saw it!

They're quite visible now!!

It can't be flames even tho it looks like it. Flames need oxygen to burn, don't they?

I WILL GIVE YOU A DISASTER SCENARIO THAT NOBODY ELSE HAS EVEN IMAGINED:

You know how there are places where the UNDERGROUND COAL SEAMS HAVE CAUGHT FIRE AND BURNED FOR 20+ YEARS?

What if it was possible for that UNDERGROUND OIL DEPOSIT TO IGNITE LIKE THE COAL SEAMS? How long would it burn? The fact that there are FLAMES coming out of that pipe indicate there must be some way oxygen is being accessed, created, or released from somewhere even if momentarily before the water puts it out.

I hear ya'. Wow...was thinking that myself. They know something is wrong too and are searching for it!

Here are some screen captures I got. The white flickering is to the upper-left just above the cursor arrow, along the top edge of the pipe opening.

The first screen capture has none of the flickering. I post it for reference and contrast to the other three screen captures.

Not sure what it is but is does look like flames. You can even see something that looks like wisps of white smoke from it from time to time. Strange

Flames are definitely getting bigger. This looks really bad, maybe the ignited oxygen in the Earth's crust?

http://nobel.scas.bcit.ca/resource/ptable/o.htm

Discovered in 1774, oxygen comprises 50% by weight of the earth's crust and the oceans and is the most abundant element in the earth's crust. Most of this amount is oxygen found in silicates. Gaseous oxygen constitutes 21% by volume of the air near the earth's surface, much of which originated from photosynthesis of plants, and water (water contains 88.8% oxygen by weight).

Oxygen is absolutely vital for sustaining life on earth. It is a colourless gas with no taste or smell which condenses to a blue liquid at -183 oC.

You have to look at it for a while,
LOOKS LIKE FLAMES TO ME TOO.
screen capture doesn't get it.

Looks like flames to me.

Could sinking a new pipeline down to the oil deposit PROVIDE MORE OXYGEN for an under sea fire and the oil reserve to burn underground?

FOLKS, YOU could have a front seat to a massive explosion coming.

Right now it is MIXED natural gas and oil exiting the pipe, BUT IF THERE CAME A PERIOD OF JUST NATURAL GAS PUSHING THE OIL BACK AND JUST natural GAS IN THE PIPE, ON FIRE AT THE END OF THE PIPE, IT COULD CAUSE THE WHOLE PIPE DOWN TO THE RESERVE TO EXPLODE, couldn't it??

Sure wish I could hear what they're saying on board the ship right now, not to mention at the BP office and phone lines.

That's what I am afraid of.. like the scenerio example I mentioned in one of my posts above.. like a gas pump (before those safety valves were installed) that has caught fire.. and it travels down to the gas reservoire, and KABOOOOOM!!! takes out a couple city blocks..... Only in this case... what could amount to a VERY sizable distance, not only down in the Earth , but across a good sized landmass..
I mean who knows how much oil/methane is REALLY down there..?? I am guessing when it is all said and done.. this could very well end up being one of, if not the biggest oil reserve discovered in modern times..

And if it were to explode and all , I cannot even begin to fathom the destruction it would wreak on this planet... let alone the gulf..

Yes , I think I just shat myself..

I have to admit, that does look like a flame and I was extremely pessimistic when I opened to read this thread.

Could it just ignite and become an eternal burning lake/gulf/ocean of fire?

BTW B.P. has changed the camera angles so the flame can be seen better.. so they MUST definitely be observing intently.. for a little while the camera went haywire movin around to get the angle..

This is some wild $hit .. cause theoretically there should NOT be fire in water... let alone over 5000 ft below...

I'm still skeptical of the idea of the Caribbean Tectonic Plate flipping like a flapjack. But this exploding-reserve doomer scenario does make one pause and think.

I dunno, as I am just making uneducated guesses based on my pucker factor .. right about now.. .. but it sure scares the heck out of me to think of it being in the realm of possibility ..

Maybe someone with more knowledge could debunk my scenerio .. cause we sure need it..lol I don't think I have many more pairs of clean underpants.. lmao..

Where could an underground fire pop up at?
Louisiana? Who knows where the oil fields leads to?
Someone give some scenarios?

And i think you mentioned earlier....hope a great big burp of methane doesn't suddenly happen.

ya FOREAL!!
At the very least , it would explode and totally blow the riser and piping completely off , and would be an even larger gusher comin out..
