So I'm seeing several recipes I'd love to try, all of which tell you to use Sherry Vinegar. So me being me, went over to amazon to see what they have for sherry vinegar and good googly there are hundreds of varieties and brands! AND it comes in both red and white!

So tell me what's your go to sherry vinegar, why you use it, and what dishes you're using it in please! TIA.

Sure you weren’t looking at wine by mistake? ;-)

Yes I'm sure, I have sherry. It clearly stated in the videos and in the recipe sherry vinegar! I did a google and did find some information, but still not which brands to look at, just that the real stuff comes from Spain.

Per google search:
The best substitutes would be a red wine vinegar or an apple vinegar. There is a slight sweetness to sherry vinegar so if you use one of the alternatives then you may want to taste the dressing before you add it to the salad and add a pinch of sugar if necessary.
Elsewhere it was noted that balsamic vinegar might overwhelm the recipe.

Yeah I read that to, there are three places here in town 5hat sell sherry vinegar, looks like I’m going to have to buy a couple of bottles and do some tastings.

Like balsamic vinegar they don’t taste the same, ditto this on red wine vinegar and white wine vinegar.

I have two types of red wine vinegar, one is very dry, the other is slightly sweet. Same thing with rice vinegars and rice wine vinegars. There are way too many variables.

There’s a vinegar bar in ankeny Iowa, maybe I should take a day to explore their offerings.
