FOOD I missed it again this year.... oh well.... take a look

Generally I miss this event every tax season. My wife took a picture of it, but was 2 weeks late. Normally, it would be bright red and full of bees.

It is somewhat faded in this picture, but you can get the idea of how fantastic it normally is......


The plant is an Australian Bottle Brush.... they take cold weather decently.... we are 8a or 8b depending upon the year....

Yes they are over 30ft tall

Lovely. I have a small one out front of my home. I have had one at each home I have owned. They are hardy and the flowers are so pretty. Mom got me started with bottle brush. I have a black thumb but bottle brush is very hard to kill off and doesn't require much care or water. Mine is presently crowding out the roses next to it

No idea, seemed good at the time.... sort of kind of related to pollination of the wife's garden, etc.... and it was a Tuesday.... maybe.... I am not saying for sure.....

they have these along some stretches of the highways in CA.
