I went outside on sisters patio. Dayum, there's a robin on the concrete. It's stunned, not dead. I picked it up, set on the table. Got to pet it a little. Carried it to the sunshine. Let it warm up, it flew off. It's really cold here, but I don't know an explanation for it's behavior. How many people get to hold a wild bird? Wow!

Yes, we have big north facing windows and at certain times of the day birds fly into the windows. Every once in a while, one hits so hard it knocks itself out. I do exactly what you do, pick it up and put it i the sun where the dogs can't get it. It is so awesome to look at the beauty of these little birds up close.

Not to put a damper on your wild bird experience, however;

Hope you washed your hands REALLY WELL. You do know that Avian Flu is in the native bird population and commercially the US has lost something like fifty million birds due to bird flu. We have no idea how many birds in the wild population have been lost or carrying it. I'd be a little wary of any birds acting out of the ordinary.

Wicked cool! We saved a bird years ago that had fallen from its nest! Our daughter was , I think around 11 and got to release it back into the wild, it went right to her finger from the cage, kinda looked at her, tilting its head, turned a flew away! It was an Oreo, beautiful bird! It was a great moment in time! She had hummingbirds sit in her fingers as well , to drink at the feeder!

Funny. I just read your post about losing your chickens. Then I read this. Made my heart happy.

It’s the little things like that, that make the day special.
Yesterday I was out on location and a Raven perched on my rear view mirror. We shared a small bag of Cheese crackers.

That’s a screen shot from the video. He landed there, pecked on the door, I rolled the window down he squawked so I gave him a cracker. He knew exactly how to ask for it

She's more likely to get mites from the bird than avian flu.

I've seen Crows and Ravens, caching excess food. They get into a tree and pound whatever they got into a crevice in the tree trunk....

I'd say the robin smacked into a window, it happens at our place all the time. If it does not kill them they will certainly be stunned for a while. We visited a neighbor a while back and they had cats laying outside of their sliding glass doors. A bird would smack into the glass, land on the deck and become an instant meal. Cats aren't dumb.

At a family reunion a few years ago someone gave us a small bird feeder. When we opened the gift my wife said "Oh, a cat feeder". She was corrected and told it was a bird feeder. The wife corrected that person and said when you have cats, it's actually a cat feeder.

Yep. No trees up here though.
Of course I’m typical Raven fashion he pooped down the side of my truck twice.
He went away and got one if his buddies and brought him back but I was out snacks by then.
The foxes up here really try to get your attention. If you are parked by a plowed snow bank they will get up on it eye level with and stare at you for something. The are funny.

WW I’m slowly dying of congestive heart failure and Lupus I’ll admit that I’m just a little bit jealous that you are going to beat me home. LOL

I can’t wait to see Jesus and or His Angels or whatever it is His Will for me to see and experience.

I think I’ll have a purpetual smile on my face as I experience the rivers of Love that flows everywhere in Heaven.
