Doggoneit. I have Covid for the second time in 4 months. I’m not vaccinated. The girl who sits two cubicles away from me had it last week. This time it’s in my chest but currently my lungs are clear even though I have a congested cough. I don’t feel quite as bad today and was able to work from home. I started having sudden onset symptoms last Thursday and on Friday, I worked a half day at home and then got tested…. negative. I went back this evening (Monday May 16) and it’s positive.

The first time I had it, I was sicker than a dog, but it was not in my chest. So, we shall see….

It is still kicking my butt. I’ve had it for a week. I feel like I got hit by a Mack truck and rolled over a few times. Although my cough sounds congested and awful, it doesn’t hurt. Now, my heart has been pounding at times, so I’ve been watching that. This is the gift that keeps on giving.

Definitely praying for you! Are you watching your O2 saturation? Also, do you have a fever?

Thank you all for your prayers. I should have paid more attention to this thread. I often post something and then forget to check for any comments. I did not take any supplements which is why this is still dragging on…. My bad.

Get an O2 monitor first thing in the morning!! It measures your heart rate, also.

And start with the supplements right this minute!! If you're missing anything you can pick it up tomorrow when you get the pulse ox.

This stuff is REAL, and nothing to fool around with. Long COVID is nothing like a cold dragging on.

I'll pray for you!!

A pulse oxygen meter is that little device they clip on the end of your finger at the doctor's office. It measures pulse and an oxygen saturation level. From earlier discussions, if pulse-ox drops below 90%, that is medically serious and may be time for a trip to the doctor or ER.

I haven’t had a fever the entire time. I have no idea what my O2 saturation is. Hmm. Can you buy one those monitors? I never thought about that.

This is the EXACT one that my GP and another one of my doctors use. It is also the one I use. Some of the Oximeters out there seem to be less than accurate. So I wanted to buy the one that my doctor was using, after asking them about it. It is about $18. There is also a blue/white version if you don't like the black color.

I feel like I’m turning the corner. I’ve gotten a tremendous amount of sleep which my body obviously needed. My husband got an oximeter for me and everything is normal, so Im grateful for that! I truly thank you for your concern and prayers. I need to get some Ivermectin to have on hand.

Called Ambulance, they took her to good stroke hospital around here , and afer two days no stroke but she did have have covid when tested at the entry stage. She had no signs of covid prior to entry, but Damn if I did not not get hit with it bad. Finally was able to grab her from the hospital today, after feeling better. Prayers added for all.

Stay away from your coworkers. (Ha! I wish.)

Also, be aware that Flu has been going around.

I will tell you about my pulse ox: you have to be sure that both your finger and the pulse ox are warm so you’ll get a proper reading. I had warm finger in one day and noticed the inside of pulse ox was actually cold. So had a low reading. Waited and everything warmed up and went normal (for me).

Our house is like a refrigerator so this is the “problem”. So now I will stick my finger in prior to turning it on and let the oximeter warm up some. Otherwise, my reading is incorrect EVERY TIME.

Mine is a cheapie from wally’s (that I didn’t buy) but seems to work ok. I’m sure it’s probably not accurate, but as long as my range is normal, I’m not too concerned with that. I have thought about getting a new one, but just haven’t done it. Because, if you really DO need accuracy, you would be better off with quality. The wallyworld one was probably not much less, if any cheaper. Go for good equipment.

My BP “machine” is the same way. (Or so I imagine.) I can do it manually, but it’s pretty difficult to maneuver that which causes my BP to rise, so I avoid that.

Again, I’m looking for a range from readings when I’m not sick. I usually go ahead and write them down so if they are outside the norm I can tell doc. But usually, I’m a bad patient.

Hope this info helps someone. (I’d never noticed the oximeter being cold.)

Question: So, I just returned to work last week after finally beating this whole thing. (Thank you all for your prayers and concern!!)

My husband went to Kentucky with his mom and sister to visit relatives on Sunday. He said when they got there, his 94 year old aunt was coughing as was his cousin. They didn’t attempt to cover their coughs. By Monday, several staying in this house (it was a family reunion) starting saying they felt like they had head colds. His aunt got really sick over night last night… Tuesday, May 31. Aunt and cousin have Covid. So, my husband packed up his mom and sister and came back home. My husband and his mom started feeling ill and by the time they got back to St Louis…. Ready for this? COVID. And they found out more of his relatives are testing positive in Kentucky. They had a big dinner Monday night and they’re dropping like flies. This thing is highly contagious.

Kicker: Every single one of those people were vaccinated but did NOT have the booster. His sister just got a booster last week. So far she does NOT have Covid. Huh.

So here’s my question: I’m thinking this is a completely different strain of COVID than what I had. My husband slept in the same bed with me the entire time I was sick and he did not get sick. Now, he gets exposed to it in Kentucky and is sick within 72 hours, as is his mom. Is it possible that I could pick up THIS strain of Covid and end up with it again?

I just can’t with all this anymore….

Were you able to get some ivermectin? and the other supplements especially the zinc?
You should work on staying healthy if you are going to be around sick people.
