Light I bit the bullet and bought a small Jackery

I chose this one because it was recommended to me by someone who reviews solar generators.

I also got the folding panel to go with it

I wanted something to power small things without having to worry about the generator or the vehicle.

I have some USB lights, my phone of course, a small laptop, battery chargers and things light that. Hopefully it might charge my portable DVD player.

It can be charged 4 ways, wall outlet, solar, vehicle and generator.

It was around $500 for both the Jackery and the panels. I could have purchases another regular generator for that price, but we already have 3. Its will cover Christmas, birthday and anniversary for the next year.

I thought DH would fuss about this but he did not, He found the best place to place the solar panel and the Jackery to charge it with solar.

the price has come down. I was going to buy one in August but let another member here talk me out of it they were absolutely insistent that it wouldn't charge via solar. I think I may buy one and call it my xmas gift.

The person that recommended it to me is "Prepper Princess". She reviews a lot of solar generators. I told her what I could spend and what I wanted it for and this is what she recommended. Of course it won't do everything, but it will do enough. I guess its up to the individual if its worth it to spend $500, but I'm looking at worse case. PP has other solar generators and one I would really like but way out of my price range. At least with this I could have a light to read by, I have a huge library to chose from.

And if I never need it then so what.
