How much room does a chicken need?

I'm sorry, I can't find the info everyone gave me before. I want to have about 20 chickens when I am done. How much room do they need in the house and in the yard?

The general rule is supposed to be 2 square feet per chicken. A chicken house 6 X 8 feet should be plenty of room for 20 chickens to roost and lay eggs in. Mine is 8 X8 feet, and I have had up to 40 chickens, 4 geese and 2 ducks in it at night with no problems, but my pen is 42 X 50 feet.
