Ok I guess this is as good a place as any to ask this question. As I said earlier in the thread, several of my immediate family members have COVID. My son has finally turned the corner but some of the others, not so much. Anyway, three of them are having severe anxiety….a couple to the point they can’t sleep at all, and when they do, they have weird thoughts and dreams. My dil is so bad that her doctor prescribed a sedative for her so she can try and get some rest.

It’s all just so strange to me because this is so out of character for all of them. Dil told me that she was told that the “brain fog “ is one of the side effects, so I don’t know. My question is….have any of you who have, or have had COVID had this happen? Thanks in advance for any replies because this is really troubling to me!

I read somewhere (front line doctors I think) that they give melatonin because c19 makes it harder to fall asleep. Also they give antidepressants to those hospitalized because of Nightmares and general floating anxiety seems a side effect also

The virus has always been real. It’s the politicization and fascism associated with it that we cry out against.

You need a reason to feel morally superior today Terrwyn?

Covid has been spreading in my AO like crazy this past week. I had to just change my vote in the poll off zero; fortunately no serious implications have hit any of us personally, but we have 2 confirmed positives and 2 additional likely.

Dennis, you are prophetic with this thread.

Now, the question remains: What relationship does the vaccine have to this current outbreak? Is it helping to slow it? Or speed it up? No definitive way of knowing.

The contagiousness of the current virus seems off the charts.

The majority of people catching covid here are unvaxxed.
However, many partially and fully vaxxed are catching it and also passing away.
The other day they reported the deaths of two fully vaxxed. One of them was only 50.

Yow! Just revisiting this…someone has NINE immediate family down with the CV? God help you.

Yeah. It's been a helluva ride. So far only me & youngest DD haven't had it, but I think she had it before it was a "thing." Basically my entire immediate family. Seven have recovered & out of quarantine, 3 active, & 1 hospitalized.

And I should have answered 10+ cuz there are actually 11.

We have ZERO in our family. And in our family, both sides, less than 20% have gotten the Jab. One did on my side, and a whole bunch on the DW's side. Many(on her side) had the last Covid, but, fortunately, not this variant.

We just had an antibody test for my wife. Looks like we had a regular sick cold. She had no antibodies to C19. She had it 3 weeks I had 1. Our close friend who is vaxxed has it and is going on her 3rd week sick. Her unvaxxed hubby got over his in a week.

My brother just visited along with one of his granddaughters from San Antonio. None in has family have had it or have been quarantineed. We went several places in Shreveport and I did not wear a mask, they put them on but took them off. They and DH went to walmart in our nearest town and were asked to put them on but when they got in the store took them off.

He is visiting a friend that got the jab and is concerned about being around him, but went anyway.

My son & pregnant DIL likely have it. Son tested negative, but that doesn't mean anything. My nurse cousin, who works at a large Detroit area hospital, says that almost all of the current, very sick, covid patients in her hospital are fully vaxxed.

I have 2 other friends, who's adult children work at medical centers who are fully vaxxed and hospitalized right now with covid.

I believe that DH and I had it in Jan. 2020 before it became well known in the US. Most of the people in our little town say they had it in Jan. & Feb. of 2020 before it started ramping up in the US.

My wife & I both had flu-like aches etc in mid-late Jan, 2019 but home-treated as per flu; no real issues except we seemed to take a bit longer to recover - maybe a day or two. Nothing since. Couldn't get an antibody test for love nor money so don't now for sure if we had it. Both fully (at the time) vaccinated June this year and followed sanitation, distancing, mask protocols since anyway and nothing adverse to-date. Well nothing we can attribute to C19, Wuhan BioWarfare lab etc that is.
We know of a very few who have infected over that time frame but no fatalities; every one we were aware of has fully recovered.
Extended family mainly in GA but spread up Atlantic coast from Savannah to NJ;
no reports of infection or death; also no report of negative reaction to vax to date.

I wonder how many who have had or currently have Covid were taking Ivermectin as a preventative?
And if they were, was their Covid a mild case or a more severe case?
For those who were under treatment for Covid did they take Ivermectin as part of the treatment?
Perhaps a poll for these questions?

You're sure right about that. And with all the people who've taken the jab and its ability to provide a nice environment for variants to develop, we can expect many more variants to emerge. The most recent one I read of has been named Mu, so we're moving right along the Greek alphabet.

Do you suppose they'll go double on the next round when we blow past Omega? Get ready for double Alpha.

I had it as of Aug 7th as did my son. I have had ongoing issues & have not fully recovered and have to be seen by a special team (?) for those that don’t fully recover by 28 days.
I’ve been put on 2 inhalers… for breathing issues & I have to use both daily and medication for my ongoing cough. Have ongoing fatigue as well.

My nieces fiance died yesterday from "covid".

Or that's what I've been told.
The fact he was close to 400lbs apparently is not important.
My heart goes out to her, she lost her husband a couple years ago due to a heart attack. Again over 300 lbs and never saw a doctor since he was little.
Damn shame.

That's so weird how it is different based on locality. Sometimes I just don't know what to think. My local hospital system posts their covid stats online every day. They started giving the vax'd vs unvax'd numbers at the end of July. Since July, the # of people admitted for covid has been 85-90% unvax'd and ICU has been 95%+ unvax'd.

3-4 weeks after the worst few days.

Still not 100%.

Fatigue, an inability to deal with heat and loss of appetite are the remaining issues

This seems to be the ongoing issue with my family. Dh and son went to get some of the last things out of our storage shed today. Nothing left that was big or heavy, but after two trips ds said he was exhausted. Mind you this is a guy that works out, swims laps in our pool, and runs….in other words he’s in great shape.

Dil is still taking antidepressants for her anxiety. The whole thing is crazy. I’m finding it very interesting to read this thread.

Had it early 2020. Appetite came back quickly. Dealing with off and on tiredness ever since. Funny you mentioned heat. This summers heat bothered me. I always liked being in the sun and heat.

My resistance to heat has been decreasing with age.

This is a noticeable change. Not only does a few minutes of being out in the heat just kick my ass, it takes much longer to recover.

It does seem to be improving tho. I did the alternator on Lakemom's hooptie yesterday. I got pretty hot an sweaty for a coupla hours. Figured I'd be paying for it today...it wasn't too bad.

Also, during the worst week of virus symptoms, my thermostat was way out of whack. I'd sit out in the shop to drink morning coffee and just be soaked with sweat within 20 minutes or so...that's with 75F ambients.

Any exposure to temps above 90ish had me shaking and weak.

Just remember, anyone who hasn't had 2 shots, or whose second shot was less than 14 days before admittance OR death is NOT vaxed for their records! Neither is anyone whose first vax was longer than THREE MONTHS earlier! What does that mean-? By their definition, you'd need a shot every ten weeks to stay "legally vaccinated "! This is bullsh!t!
