Food How Does WalMart Ship packages?

I just ordered some beans and canned Keystone meats from WalMart.

I have never ordered from WalMart online before, because years ago, they said they were going to get their own off duty employees to deliver the packages to your home, rather than use a service like the postal service or UPS.

I don’t really like WalMart employees rummaging around my property, so I have always ordered from Amazon.

But Amazon was so much more expensive than WalMart for that Keystone canned meat, that I am going to try WalMart online services on a one time trial basis, and see how it goes.

I noticed thar WalMart did not hit me up for shipping costs, but the Order Confirmation notice did say that they would deliver to my front door.

so, does that mean that some WalMart worker is going to deliver my package on his/her way home from work?

Walmart was going to try to do the Amazon thing- use independent contract delivery drivers, but the app for that sux.
So I am not sure if they went thru with it or not.

If you log into your account, it should show you tracking and carrier used. Shipping is free if you order $35, so you may have hit the mark and not been charged.
I've had orders shipped both Fed-Ex and UPS

Same here.
If you ordered today, the tracking may not show up until tomorrow.
Also, you should get an email with tracking, but again, likely not the same day.
It could also be multiple packages depending on where they are coming from.

As mentioned above, you'll have to look at your account order tracking information to find out.

Walmart in my area will sometimes send things via FedEx, but sometimes (less often) by UPS.
I have also received packages via USPS.
Sometimes a Walmart employee (or a contractor) will drop off the items (in a Walmart bag) at my front door.

Most likely, no. I just ordered some things from them and saw the same thing. Threw me for a bit because none of the WW are close to me. But it was all shipped Fedex. The more insane part was they shipped it in multiple small packages rather than one big one.

Interesting. I live about 10 miles from the nearest Walmart out in the sticks and have never had anything delivered by an employee. FedEx and a time or two I think UPS. Amazon usually comes USPS or UPS on occasion.

When I ordered Keystone from Walmart, they came in a big box with no padding. Those big cans had all dented each other. They refunded, but we had to return them to our local Walmart. Now I get them from Amazon and so far no denting.

My packages from Walmart have always came Fed-Ex. And generally with a $35.00 order shipping is free.
Yup my walmart orders come via Fedex. Whereas Amazon only ships to my local post office...a big pain in the butt.

My final Walmart order was shipped by FedEx. It finally showed up 36 days beyond the promised date. Amazon is higher, but it always gets here when they say it will.

Grocery delivery, which is possibly what beans and canned meats might be considered, come to us from Walmart locally via DoorDash. DoorDash are the same folks who deliver meals from various local restaurants. During Covid last year, Walmart started using them for local grocery order delivery but they will deliver a lot of non-grocery items as well if they are in stock at the local Walmart. We have three Walmart’s within about 8-10 miles of us.

just what I was going to say - never heard of a complete case being allll OK - they don't get delivered OK to a store for customer pickup much less get tossed about loose on a UPS truck ...

wouldn't count on your local Amazon driver delivering OK - the heavier and more packages involved the worst the delivery with those guys .....

I have ordered and received hundreds of shipments from Walmart. Yes, 100's. Other than a few perishables, we buy everything just about from Walmart and have it delivered. We get stuff every week from Walmart. Have I ever gotten damaged goods from them? Yes, but the percentage is small and they immediately credit our account or re-ship (I always try to get them to re-ship).
Three years ago I had an Amazon Prime account (got it free). I bought little from them and was very unimpressed (plus I hate Amazon).
Is Walmart a super-duper place? No. Do they really ship in 2 days? Often but not always. Our orders arrive within a week. Often an order is shipped in several boxes which seems like poor planning on their part because it obviously costs them extra but makes no difference to me as we still get what we ordered in a timely manor.
The reason we have bought so much from Walmart is because we really boosted our preps over the last year or so. And their prices are good. I do not shop inside a Walmart store. The closest one requires a 150-mile round trip. I do not shop anywhere except our small local town for perishables.
Do I recommend Walmart online shopping? Yes and no. It works fine for us and I am very happy Walmart offers the free shipping. Life here would suck if I could not buy online and get free shipping. Should you buy from Walmart? Do what you want. Most of you have a huge number of options for shopping but we do not without a very long drive.

All of our Walmart orders have come by FedEx. Free shipping if you order over a certain $ amount. I think it's $35. FedEx brings it right to my gate, and would bring it to my front door if the gate were open. I've never had a problem with them, and usually get my order within a week. I have an order that is running late right now. I got part of my order within a week of ordering, but the rest hasn't come, yet. We track all of our online orders through email.

I received the six cans of Keystone ground beef today. It was shipped Fed Ex, with each can individually wrapped in a special paper designed to protect the cans from damage in shipping.

It worked, because no cans suffered any damage in shipping.

But what I am concerned about is that I did not get any of the beans I ordered.

I ordered 6 bags of dried beans. No sign of them.

No listing of what was in the box - or what should be in the box. So I can’t tell if the beans were mistakenly left out, or if there might be another package coming.

Neither here nor there.

It's my understanding they did not go through with that type of delivery, now they use the service that Aldi, Kroger, HyVee, etc., uses for delivering goods. I forget the name of the app now.

Go to walmart.com and look at (maybe need to login) to your account. The tracking info will show what has shipped along with the tracking number for each shipment sent.

They're probably in another box. One of my biggest pet peeves about modern commerce is the stupid "no receipt in the box"!
