HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter for allegedly selling a fentanyl-laced drug to two high school students -- one of whom fatally overdosed -- and a 16-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly selling narcotics to a third student at a nearby park, authorities announced Thursday.

LAPD Chief Michel Moore confirmed that the suspects were taken into custody amid an ongoing investigation into the incident that occurred Tuesday at Bernstein High School in Hollywood.

The younger boy, who lives with his grandmother, allegedly sold a pill to two 15-year-old girls on the Bernstein campus, causing both of them to overdose. One of them, was pronounced dead after being found on the floor of a girls' bathroom on the campus.

The 15-year-old boy will be booked for manslaughter, Moore told reporters at a news conference. He was allegedly found to be in possession of additional pills when taken into custody.

The 16-year-old suspect is accused of selling narcotics at nearby Lexington Park and will booked accordingly, the chief said. Authorities said earlier that at least two students suffered apparent overdoses at the park on Tuesday night.

Both suspects are students at APEX Academy, a charter school located on the Bernstein campus, and investigators believe they know each other, the LAPD said. Neither one was publicly identified because they are minors.

On Thursday morning, Los Angeles police served a search warrant at an apartment building on Eleanor Avenue in Hollywood as part of the investigation

According to police and Los Angeles Unified School District officials, Tuesday's incident began around 8 p.m., when a man went to Bernstein High School, 1309 N. Wilton Place, in search of his stepdaughter, who had not returned home from school.

He found his stepdaughter suffering from apparent overdose symptoms, although she was still conscious and was able to tell him that one of her friends was in a girls' bathroom, officials said. The man and a school employee found the other girl unresponsive in the bathroom, where she died.

Investigators subsequently learned of two other overdoses that occurred at nearby Lexington Park on Tuesday night.

Sorry, but I cannot feel sorry for someone croaking off on illegal drugs, unless they were clean to begin with and given drugs without their knowledge. I don't care if they are 15 or 50, girls, boys or its. As far as I am concerned, this is Darwin's law at work doing good.

Many other countries have very stiff penalties for possession of illegal drugs. If my recollection is correct, Russia just jailed some American fruit cake that smuggled something in. Some Asian countries throw them in dungeons, and some places will just off the perps.

That said, I struggle with feeling any sympathy for the dead girl's family. I guarantee that if the little princess had been popped by the law for possession that the whole family would have rallied around her with the "my princess didn't do nothing" routine and "ALL COPS ARE BASTARDS!!!" The family would have also sided with the juvenile dope pushers as well. Leftists are a suicidal death cult. Hollywood high is a guarantee they are Leftists.

I think it's time for the people that make, transport and sell this stuff to face automatic DEATH SENTENCES! No namby-pamby crap about this. It's time to deal realistically with these evil bastards and remove them from the equation.

Easier solution is to close the southern border. Close it. Drugs are flowing over the border. on the nightly news in Phoenix it is common to hear of daily drug seizures of Fentanyl or other drugs measured in pounds or thousands of pills. The chemicals for the drugs come from China. China is in business with the Mexican cartels. The cartels mix and package the drugs and if the doses are way off, so what.

Stupid kids have ready access to pot, heroin, fentanyl and any number of other drugs. There are additional problems with pills being trafficked that are supposed to be, for example, prozac, and turn out to be fentanyl laced stupidity resulting in another dead student. Kids that age know they are immortal and their friend would never give them something that would hurt them.

Solutions: a new President, seal the southern border, shoot on sight anyone carrying drugs into the country, execute drug dealers in this country, stop making excuses for Johnny and Mary trafficking drugs in the schools. Prosecute them and make a big show of sending their butts to hard core prison. We ain’t foolin’ around here kids. This country lost over 100,000 to drugs in the last year. Biden and the DOJ don’t care.

It's all over. Here in the MatSu Valley, in Alaska, I usually hear a half dozen or so OD's every night when the scanner is on. I'd estimate every other day one of the OD's doesn't make it. Doesn't sound like much if you live in a big city, but my town is around 5k folks, with maybe another 30k in surrounding towns. You can definitely tell when a bad batch hits the streets, scanner goes into overdrive.

In the end, nothing will happen, except more folks on both sides of the aisle will make more money.

Family member LEO says when they have a fatal OD due to some hot drugs, all the addicts want to know the source. Oh, great! They're proactive enough to at least TRY to not OD? Nope! They WANT THE STUFF... "must be some good sh!t!"
