Which pregnancy did you consider a mistake or accidental then turned out to be the perfect miracle?

It was 2001. I was 22 years old. My boyfriend of 2 years and I had broken up a couple of months before and I found out I was pregnant in June, due in January 2002. I was working my first full time job after college and living with my parents, so after some deep soul-searching, I felt financially and emotionally secure enough, and decided to keep the baby. My parents were very supportive, even though this was unheard of in our family, being unmarried, having a baby, being a single mother. Not something anybody was proud of or open about.

Our son was born on December 30, 2001 (we spent New Year’s in the hospital and the nurses were so great!).

My ex-boyfriend and I got back together when our son was 1 year old (we had remained close friends in the meantime). Fast forward 20 years and my ex-boyfriend is now my husband of 17 years. In 2008 we were blessed with another amazing son .

Here is our firstborn son Nicholas (Nick). He’s now in his second year of College, studying Graphic Design. Both of our boys are growing into amazing young men and we are so very proud of both of them.

My husband and I are also very happily married and the best part is that we don’t just love each other, we truly like each other too.

I am so thankful for my family, which started with this sweet little boy ❤️

Officer Aids Grieving Woman

"Sometimes the very people you least expect to care are the ones who will.

Yesterday, my sister Barbie Henderson was on her way back home to Clarksville, Tennessee from Louisville after visiting with family. As she was driving, she received that call we all dread, a loved one crying. You automatically know something awful has happened.

With tears in her eyes and holding the phone, she managed to turn the car around and head back to Louisville. She actually hadn't driven very far and was at the Brooks exit. She couldn't' think and was overwhelmed with emotion causing her to be unable to drive her car safely. My sister called 911, a Hillview police officer responded and that is where the blessing began.

Officer Nissen was more than an officer yesterday. He was a person with a heart to understand this was a lady who just lost her sister and heard the news over the phone. From there on he took care of my sister. As she cried, he listen to her and wiped away her tears. He made sure she drank water as it was extremely hot outside, and he spoke to the family on the phone each time we called until my arrival. When I arrived he wasn't standing on the side of the car. He was seated right next to her just as we would've been while she was grieving. What an awesome guy!!!!

During a time we hear so many negative things about the Police, I want the world to know my Police Officers care!!! They are thoughtful, compassionate, go beyond the standard and I appreciate them. The Barlow Family appreciates them!!”

I'm a proud Hillview Resident!"

“My wife and I just recently brought our baby boy, Duke, into this world. About four weeks ago my wife developed gestational hypertension which meant her blood pressure was very high due to her higher blood volume from the pregnancy.

1651281977546.png
Well, six weeks before our due date we ended up having to go to the hospital after some very high blood pressure reads, they decided to keep us and changed her diagnosis to preeclampsia.

Immediately I was very stressed out because I didn’t have any paid time off, we were down to one car and of course my wife was in the hospital with a life-threatening condition for both her and the baby. The doctors decided it was best for both my wife and our baby to induce her six weeks early. Sure enough on July 20th at 9:48 p.m. our baby boy was born and ended up in the NICU, where he stayed for a week, and my wife ended up with a spinal headache due to her epidural.

I called my boss to let him know I wouldn’t be at work for a while because of complications with my wife’s health and our premature baby, that’s when he, my HR rep, and my coworkers sprang into action!

Without my knowledge they got together and sent out a company email asking for time off donations. I ended up with more than enough paid time off because my coworkers, my friends, donated their own hard-earned paid time off. This in itself has taken a lot of the stress off of me and my family, it has allowed me to be there with my family, to pay the bills, and bond with my little guy.

It goes to show when someone is in need people will do the right thing, that’s humanity at its finest. I believe when people do the right thing out of the kindness of their hearts, they deserve to be acknowledged for it, so here I am shouting from the rooftop how eternally grateful I am to work with such selfless people. The world needs to know what was done for my family and I, we are beyond blessed.”

“My neighbor Jim had trouble deciding if he wanted to retire from the construction field until he ran into a younger man he’d worked with previously. The man had a wife and three children, and was finding it difficult to make ends meet, as he hadn’t worked in some time. The next morning Jim went to the union office and submitted his retirement paperwork. As for his replacement, he gave them the name of struggling young man. That was six years ago, and that young husband and father has been employed ever since.” —Miranda MacLean, Brutus, Michigan.

“My Granddaughter’s Dress” By: Stacy Lee
main-qimg-b33176ff269152ef40eff8e090b23672-lq

“I saw a dress in a consignment shop that I knew my granddaughter would love. But money was tight, so I asked the store owner if she could hold it for me. “May I buy the dress for you?” asked another customer. “Thank you, but I can’t accept such a gracious gift,” I said.

Then she told me why it was so important for her to help me. She’d been homeless for three years, she said, and had it not been for the kindness of strangers, she would not have been able to survive. “I’m no longer homeless, and my situation has improved,” she said. “I promised myself that I would repay the kindness so many had shown me.” She paid for the dress, and the only payment she would accept in return was a heartfelt hug.” —Stacy Lee, Columbia, Maryland

Interesting Info About Tom Selleck
main-qimg-8f686a85fec872142aebd5ba26108dab-lq

Raised by hardworking parents, Tom Selleck learned the values of the U.S. military from an early age. Selleck was born in Detroit, Michigan, but his father's dissatisfaction with carpentry led him to move his family to California where he looked for success in real estate. This move helped pave the way for Selleck's success as an actor and member of the U.S. military.

Selleck graduated from high school in 1962. He wanted to enroll in the University of Southern California but wasn't able to afford tuition. He enrolled in Valley Junior college, worked hard, and saved money to enroll in USC in his junior year. He was helped by a basketball scholarship. While attending university, Selleck worked as a model to bring in extra money.

It was at USC that Selleck entered the world of acting. He majored in business administration, but a drama coach suggested he give acting a shot. He appeared on "The Dating Game," and even earned a role in a Pepsi commercial. Twentieth Century Fox soon approached him to join their talent program. He signed on, and worked hard to learn the art of acting.

Tom Selleck at USC Number 42

"I think, when I went to Fox, I was on my own with no frame of reference, no connection," said Selleck. "I'd never done a play in my life. I started at about thirty-five bucks a week, and every six months you either got fired or renewed. If you got renewed, you got a raise on their term contracts."

During the Vietnam War, Selleck was issued draft orders. To take some measure of control over the situation, he joined the California National Guard in the 160th infantry regiment. He served from 1967 to 1973. He later appeared on California National Guard recruiting posters.

The military left a strong impression on Selleck, who recalls his service with pride, "I am a veteran, I'm proud of it," he said. "I was a sergeant in the U.S. Army infantry, National Guard. We're all brothers and sisters in that sense."

Upon returning to civilian life, he was dropped from his contract with Fox.

"And then I was going to be drafted, and I got into an infantry National Guard unit and did six months active duty in the middle of my time at Fox," Selleck said. "I had my job when I came back, and then they fired me. [laughs]"
main-qimg-77eeac922d5c3402044da3426a96e256-lq

Despite missing future opportunities with Fox, Selleck remained unperturbed. He continued to pursue acting and settled down with a family. He worked on six pilots for television shows that were never sold. Although he earned a living, he had yet to find a solid platform for success. That changed in 1980 when he was offered a leading role in "Magnum, P.I." By that time, Selleck was in his 30s and it had been 11 years since Fox released him.

"Magnum, P.I." helped rocket Selleck's career forward. The show was instantly successful, and ran for eight seasons, with Selleck becoming a star. During production, Selleck was considered for the role of Indiana Jones in "Raiders of the Lost Ark," but due to scheduling conflicts he turned it down, and the part went to Harrison Ford.

After "Magnum, P.I." ended, Selleck enjoyed other roles in series like "Friends," "The Closer," and "Jesse Stone." One of his biggest post-Magnum roles is Police Commissioner Frank Reagan on the CBS cop drama "Blue Bloods."
main-qimg-9c2ad6b70700e4d98e38e27a75c8e44a-lq

Although Selleck hasn't been in the military for decades, he maintains a strong sentiment and support for U.S. troops. "We learned a lesson as a country over time, that we need to welcome our troops home regardless of whether you have political problems with whatever mission they're on, they just served and we need to thank them for it," he said.

Selleck has volunteered for numerous public service announcements that document the National Guard's contributions to the U.S. He's also promoted recruitment and retention for the military, and is a spokesperson for the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Fund

The boy who took a stand
main-qimg-557b8dd0b6d0180bf47142d3db9200c7-pjlq

Not much touches our hearts more than children who give selflessly, like one 7-year-old named Quinn Callander did for his best friend, Brayden Grozdanich. Brayden has cerebral palsy. Quinn simply wanted to help Brayden walk and move with less pain. So, he set up a lemonade stand for his buddy to raise money to help Brayden, and the two began selling their delicious drinks outside a local grocery store.

main-qimg-590813341043913935dadea5c2d6ec7d-lq

Quinn’s mom posted about his heartwarming campaign on a donation website, hoping to bring in a few more dollars for his cause. What the family didn’t expect, though, was more than $61,000 in donations to come rolling in, which would help support a much-needed surgery for Brayden later that year. And it all started with a small boy, a brilliant idea, and a huge heart.

When life hands you lemons: Boy sells lemonade to raise funds for friend's surgery
A B.C. boy opened up a lemonade stand this weekend to help raise funds so that his best friend with cerebral palsy can get an expensive surgery. The stand was part of a larger fundraising effort, that’s garnered more than $48,000 in donations.

“It happened so quickly” Linsey Driskill
main-qimg-9b09fcf63bc4f45f2be25c11c06cadc4-lq

“My son, Bates, was seven years old and he started coughing up blood uncontrollably – over and over – it wouldn’t stop.

Earlier that morning, my son was happy as can be. He had his tonsils out several weeks before, but was ready to go to school.

I got a call to sub last minute in the classroom across the hall, and boy am I glad I took that job.

While I was teaching, my two daughters rushed across the hall to me (they’re triplets and were allin the same class). Out of breath, they said, “Mommy, Bates is spitting up blood. You need to come.”

The situation was far worse than I imagined.

One of his arteries had opened in his throat. I remember the horrific scene of him leaning over the sink in the classroom, the teacher rushing the other kids outside.

I rubbed his back in panic mode, wondering, When will the bleeding stop? What if it doesn’t stop?

The wonderful teachers and staff jumped into emergency mode and the ambulance was on its way.

We had a moment in the foyer of the school – my son was in the wheelchair, the amazing school nurse held the cup for him to cough into, and I prayed for him.

I didn’t know who else was near me – I didn’t care. I asked Jesus to heal Bates, then and there. I prayed the Lord would stop the bleeding and that the power of Jesus would heal him, quickly.

As we waited for the ambulance, we saw bits of smiles rise from my son’s lips. Even though it was still actively bleeding, he had stopped coughing.

I could breathe. He was turning a corner.

Bates spent the night in the hospital and his artery closed, so he didn’t need surgery. We are so grateful to the Lord for healing Bates, how quickly he recovered, and the strength he had throughout it.

Fast forward to last night (a year and a half later), my son ran downstairs, fell into my arms, tears streaming down his cheeks. He had his first nightmare about it – he said he was coughing up blood at the hospital and was so scared.

I cuddled him into my arms, giving thanks to the Lord that I could cuddle him into my arms – that he was here.

Earlier that day, I was frustrated with him for not remembering to put something away. And, in this moment, I could have cared less about that – how trivial it seemed.

I was just so grateful that he’s alive, well, thriving.

Mamas, I know it’s so easy to take our children for granted. I catch myself doing it at times. But, let’s remember that they are gifts – gifts we could lose in an instant.

I’ve heard about two families who lost their little angels just today. My heart aches for them. It’s another reminder to treasure what is right in front of us.

Today, our kids are here, with us. Today, we get the luxurious gift to hold them, be with them, walk alongside them.

It doesn't mean we can't have time to ourselves. I think that is healthy and makes us better moms.

But, in the midst of the daily burdens and beauties, let’s enjoy them and not forget to let them know we are for them and on their side. Deep down, they long for our acceptance.

Today, we get the chance to be for our kids, with our kids. What a gift.

"Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him." Psalm 127:3

Heroic Teen who Rescued Officer from Car
main-qimg-6370cf5b4c421ddfc63789371ae51b82-lq

Joe Chambers, a 17-year-old volunteer firefighter, saw the burning cruiser, sprinted into action and rescued

the 30-year-old officer, Mark Kimsey, who was trapped in his car.

"He was all disoriented, he didn’t know where he was," said Chambers. I said ‘your car is on fire,’ and he was, like, just staring at me. And I was like ‘I’m gonna get you out.’”

" ... I tried to open the door and the door wasn’t opening, so I’m like, 'I’m going to have to get you out through the window,' and he just threw his arms out and I just dragged him out,” he continued.
main-qimg-175aff1adfe9df2888648f050d2d4d79-pjlq

Kimsey was responding to a priority call around 5:35 a.m. Nov. 8 when a truck collided with his cruiser
in Gray’s Ferry. The cruiser burst into flames and the door was dented and jammed shut.

Chambers and his neighbor, Dante Johnson, rushed to the officer.

"I saw that it was a cop car," Chambers said. "Right then I just started sprinting and did what I had to do."

The Heartwarming Story Of How This Great Dane Helped A Little Girl To Walk Again

main-qimg-232a0a08c110299f8e20bf2ded568965-pjlq

“Bella was only 11 years old when she received her service dog, George. She had been diagnosed with Morquio Syndrome. This rare disease rapidly progresses and makes mobility difficult. George was a Great Dane who provided comfort for the sick girl. More importantly, he helped Bella walk again.”
main-qimg-93c7c2e64fec24a79739259483976d6c-pjlq

“Bella’s mother saw her daughter struggling with mobility issues, and she knew that she had to do something. She started volunteering at Service Dog Project, Inc. Before long, Bella met and fell in love with the Great Dane. Luckily for Bella, her mother decided to adopt the dog.

From the moment that they first met, the pair has been completely inseparable. In the video, Bella talks about how much George has changed her life. When she needed someone to help her, he was there.”

“Judging by his behavior, it looks like George needs Bella as much as she needs him. Soon, the people at Bark Post heard about the heartwarming story. They decided to honor George with their “Dog’s Best Day.” This honor is given to amazing dogs and is designed to give the puppies the best day ever. “

Sara Discusses Marriage
main-qimg-75424f8ef6f6fc17c3386bd4b81d7c8d-lq

“Let’s talk about this because it doesn’t get enough attention......What some may see: a Dad sleeping while Mom stays awake holding their sleeping baby in the ER at 2am. What I see: A Dad sleeping on the hard floor of an ER after working 12 hour shifts 6 days a week for the last month, despite the fact his wife asked him to stay home and rest, all because he didn’t want his babies in STL alone. Because he didn’t want his wife to have to do it on her own, no matter how exhausted he is.

Marriage and parenting isn’t 50/50. Some days it is. Other days it’s 60/40, 70/30, or even 80/20. And you have to be willing to pull your weight, no matter what your partner needs that day. This is what love is. This is what being a husband is. This is what being a Daddy is. And I wouldn’t want to do this life with anyone else! Thank you for all you do for us Daddy! We love you!”

DOG’S SOLUTION TO CRYING BABY IS GIVING HIM ALL HIS FAVORITE TOYS
main-qimg-9ef9f1fbc795564b44864e3c622374e0-lq

It is sometimes a cause that some couples choose to abandon their pets for the sake of their child’s protection.

They truly try to figure out how to make their fur baby and their actual baby get along and stay safe. However, most pets get along well with children and can even become their first best friends. The dog may appear to be large and harsh at times, yet they are incredibly sensitive and affectionate towards youngsters.

So here’s a story of a loving dog who handed the new human his favorite toy.
main-qimg-4d572182299b500ce79003d0413f1537-lq

Bonnie Michalek and her husband from California adore their dog. Brutus, a beagle, is their pet. They saw their dog as their first child.

So when she found out she was expecting her first child, she said Brutus was the first to know. In the early stages of pregnancy, she even felt like the dog grew more protective of her.

They were confident that Brutus would be fine with the new addition to the family because he grew protective after Bonnie became pregnant. Bonnie claims that he has always adored children and gets pleased whenever he hears them giggling outside.
main-qimg-b1351c3f50c9aa2696ac0a7845582f63-lq

So she gave birth to a baby boy called Kayden and brought him home to meet Brutus for the first time. The dog approached the child and licked his face.

That was the beginning of their strong relationship. Brutus and Kayden became fast friends, and the dog was eager to go to any length for his human pal, including sharing his favorite toy.

One of Brutus’ favorite toys is a yellow plush ball. It was a toy that he kept for a long time and that he cherished. But his enthusiasm for the ball was overshadowed by his bond with the infant human. If it helps his favorite tiny human feel better, the dog is willing to give up his ball.

Brutus runs for his fluff ball whenever he notices Kayden weeping and tries to bring it to him. It demonstrates how much the dog adores the newborn and that he will care for him for a long time.

This is Levi and has one of the most heroic stories I no of. This 3 legged 15yr old Pitbull type took a bullet in his shoulder, which was aimed for his head, after trying to save his owners from an armed intruder who were held up at gun point late one night!

He took a bullet but still charged scaring the intruder off who was still firing multiple shots at him as he ran.

Live Free & Die Free.... God Freedom Country....
Found my cat as a little kitten (about 6 weeks old) left to die in a box near a container. I warmed her up with my own body temperature on the way home, she was almost half dead. When I got her home and dry (because it was rainy October and I live in cold Scandinavia), she had a stable and semi-strong pulse.

I took her to the acute vet, I'm a student and I didn't have much money, but I would rather eat oats for two-three weeks than let another living creature die. I ended up bottle feeding her every 2 hour every night and rushing home to bottle feed her in my school breaks.

That little thing is my child, all that bonding in the night when I bottle fed her. I have PTSD, and because of her, I don't suffer from nightmares anymore.

When it was bad, she would panic and wake me up so I didn't have to suffer through them. Even a year after I had my last nightmare, she still sleeps with her nose on my neck or cuddles with my hand and keeps her nose on my wrist to check my pulse so she can wake me up the instant she detects any distress.

“I was working in Amarillo, I thought I would try some Long John Silvers for lunch.
As I was sitting there, this gentleman came in and asked the lady at the register for a cup to put some water in. With a big smile she politely said yes and handed him a cup.

He was standing there enjoying the air conditioning and his water when she came out with a huge plate of food. I try not to judge a book by its cover but, he looked like he had no money and was probably very hungry. He sat down and started eating.

I got up to refill my coke and told the kind lady just how cool that was and thank you. She said the manager gave her permission. I asked if I could snap a photo and told them thanks again.

I’ve always loved Long John’s and this was just the cherry on top. The manager said “folks have been calling me Captain my whole life”

So a HUGE “THANK YOU” to CAPTAIN and the wonderful staff at the Ross location. You folks are a real Class Act and I will definitely be returning

I wish more places would do the same instead of tossing the food they don’t sell in the garbage.”
