Fairwillows
Where I am supposed to be.
Oh!!! I made these last night. They turned out perfect and delicious!!! I doubled the batch and froze them for Thanksgiving dinner. The OP said to let them thaw and put in a warm oven when ready to serve.
I don't know if you've made the Boston cream hawaiian rolls, but they are also delicious! You just add your favourite custard inside rolls and top with your favourite chocolate fudge icing. So yummy!
ETA: I'm one of those cooks that never quite has all the ingredients and have to cleverly substitute ingredients. I bought a lot of cans of peaches and pears during covid. So I put one can of pears and one can of peaches in blender, then strained them and added a bit of water to complete the required liquid for this recipe. It worked out perfect!!!
Let me know if you try this recipe and like it.
HAWAIIAN DINNER ROLLS
Heat together:
1 3/4 cups pineapple juice (100-105F)
3 TBSP. sugar or honey
1 Tsp. salt
Mix well. Add 2 TBSP dry yeast
(let it sit until it foams (3-5 minutes)
Add 1/2 melted butter (or coconut oil, etc)
1 egg beaten.
Add 2 cups flour
mix until nice and smooth.
Add 2-4 more cups of flour.
Knead well by hand or in Kitchen aide.
Add enough flour to make light somewhat sticky but firm batter.
Let rest for 10-15 minutes.
I put a zip loc bag over my kitchen scale and measured out
2 ounce pieces.
Roll in to nice ball, pinch at bottom.
Place on baking tray, not touching, but close together.
Put in warm area to rise for 30 minutes or more until
they have risen.
Bake at 350 for 15 minutes, turn tray bake until
internal temp is 200 degrees
remove from oven. Let sit, and then
coat all buns with butter.
YUM!
