The conversation rages on about renewables vs fossil fuels during power outages in both the E.U and the USA. That's the distraction, that's where powers that be want the conversation to stay, not magnetic motors and decentralized electrical production with no power provider to pay monthly. Tesla Towers, Tesla Oscillators and Magnetic Motors are never discussed as solutions for indoor agriculture, until now. Lets talk.

Greece suffers "Most Intense" Snowfall since the 1970s, as Little Rock, Arkansas receives 6-Years Worth of Snow in a Week - Electroverse

GREECE SUFFERS “MOST INTENSE” SNOWFALL SINCE THE 1970S, AS LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS RECEIVES 6-YEARS WORTH OF SNOW IN A WEEK
FEBRUARY 19, 2021 CAP ALLON

An exceptionally rare and long-lasting snowstorm battered Attica this week–the historical region that encompasses Greece’s capital city Athens and the surrounding countryside projecting into the Aegean Sea.

While winter snowfall may be commonplace across Greece’s higher elevations, it is much rarer in and around the nation’s capital.

On Feb. 16, snowfall of 20-25 cm (8-10 inches) settled in Athens — accumulations that resulted in power cuts, traffic chaos, and the effective shut down of the city, as reported by greekcitytimes.com.

Rare snow also blanketed the Acropolis.

According to data from the Hellenic National Meteorological Service, this week’s snowfall was Greece’s “most intense” since the at least the late 1970s.

LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS RECEIVES 6-YEARS WORTH OF SNOW IN A WEEK

Thousands upon thousands of new cold records have been set across the United States of late, but few will compare with the astonishing feat achieved by the city of Little Rock, Arkansas.

“What we have experienced over the past week will go down in the record books as a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience,” reports local news site kark.com: “never (in over 150-years of record-keeping) have we had the combination of historic cold and snow witnessed from February 10-18.”

Two brutal snowstorms battered the city this week delivering accumulations totaling at least 20.2 inches (the NWS is expected to advise that final total up).

According to National Weather Service data, Little Rock’s normal annual snowfall (based on the 1981-2010 average) is 3.5 inches, meaning the city just copped SIX years worth of snow in the span of a week!

Below is further historical context for Little Rock’s recent snow event (data courtesy of the NWS and compiled by kark.com with accumulations accurate as of Feb 18, 2021).

Furthermore, Little Rock is expected to break two additional low temperature records over the next two days.

The current record low for Feb. 19 stands at 17°F, set back in 1910 (Centennial Minimum) — the Arkansas Storm Team is forecasting a low of 7°F tonight, easily busting the old benchmark.

The record low for Feb. 20 is currently 20°F, set back in 1929 and 1936 — the Arkansas Storm Team is forecasting a low of 10°F for Saturday which, again, will comfortably usurp the previous record.

Wrap up Little Rock.

The COLD TIMES are returning, the mid-latitudes are REFREEZING in line with the great conjunction, historically low solar activity, cloud-nucleating Cosmic Rays, and a meridional jet stream flow (among other forcings).

Both NOAA and NASA appear to agree, if you read between the lines, with NOAA saying we’re entering a ‘full-blown’ Grand Solar Minimum in the late-2020s, and NASA seeing this upcoming solar cycle (25) as “the weakest of the past 200 years”, with the agency correlating previous solar shutdowns to prolonged periods of global cooling here.

Furthermore, we can’t ignore the slew of new scientific papers stating the immense impact The Beaufort Gyre could have on the Gulf Stream, and therefore the climate overall.

Prepare accordinglylearn the facts, relocate if need be, and grow your own.

TxGal, I'm glad you guys are managing down where you are. I can't imagine having to take care of large livestock in the conditions you've had! I'm doing about the same. with the immobility from back and now one hip. But I am warmer now, since the temp is going up fast with this sunny day, and I'm using a little heater that is actually putting out heat of sorts A few days of sun will thaw the snow on the top of my greenhouse and the whole south end of my house will then be lots warmer.

If this past week and more is an indication of the kind of winters now in store for us, I'm going to have to make some big decisions. I can't and don't want to survive a whole winter like this. If the lockdowns and social distancing ever go away, I can possibly find (hire) someone who will organized my house for me, as I'll need help even if my back gets better. My nephew is working with me to help me get all my lately neglected legal matters taken care of and once that's done. maybe I can relax a little and let happen what may. I do hope I can hang in there long enough to see if this solar minimum is going to continue going in the direction it appears to be going. I don't mean this to sound like I'm giving up...I just think it's time to be as much realist as optimist. I still intend to get better so I can at least get back to doing the everyday things for myself.

And I would like to thank everyone here again for posting so much fantastic information on this thread.

EDIT: Just watched it. It was about more than just grains.....mostly things we've already heard, but a few new items and still fairly interesting. I wish he wouldn't talk quite so fast. It can be a little distracting.

I think the only thing that really saved us was our half a century of experience with blizzards and Nor'easters. We knew how bad it can get because we had to deal with them for so long, just not that it could possibly get that bad here. I think that has stunned a lot of people. Native Texans included.

Because of all that history we had gotten in a good load of squares in addition to some round bales, along with cattle cubes and mineral salt blocks, and a few extra protein tubs were put out in the pastures. We also closed off all pastures except for the land immediately around the house, which has a good-sized pond, wooded areas and creeks, and a decent-sized shed. We also loaded up on chicken feed and scratch, and extra bedding. Nothing other than prepping for livestock, really. By keeping everything near us it made it easier for us to feed all the animals and keep an eye on them. The older we get, the more important this has become.

I'm glad you're still up and moving about, but you do need to get that checked out as soon as you can....and I know you know that :-) Your nephew is a true blessing, and really, you're just talking about things we all need to consider, especially us seniors as we get older. We've often though of those same issues, and we are also working that concern here.

One thing I've thought about was should we have considered moving further south - but for us the answer is no. A little more south puts us closer to hurricanes, and we went through close calls on the Eastern seaboard. This is as close as I want to live to any coastline. After reading about the dome homes on another thread and the builder up in Italy, Texas, I really started thinking about that. They sound just about perfect from the hazard-protection standpoint. It's just the aesthetics that aren't as pleasant. The thought of tornado protection really appeals to me. But, the reality is at our age we likely won't move anywhere until/if we positively have to due to serious aging issues.

So, we deal with the what-ifs as best we can.

We are now under a boil water advisory. We don't drink our tap water, it really upsets my stomach, and were fortunate to have gotten a little extra bottled water before this system hit. Stores were already low I think from the last one in January, and large supplies were not in any stores. We wondered if there wasn't some pre-positioning of bottled water by some agency. It will be a long time due to current conditions before we see any more bottled water in the stores. I think that's true anywhere in Texas.

As long as we don't have a pipe burst, we will have dodged a huge hit. We're now at 31 degrees, back to the teens tonight. We should know soon.

I am just above freezing here and forecast says down to 19 overnight tonight. Here in Arkansas there is warmth in the winter sun even in January. That surprised and please me when I first got here from Minnesota in 1977. There's even more heat from the sun by this month and right now the ten-day forecast says that 6 of those days will be sunny. It will all melt off before the weekend is over here! YAY!!!!!

The heater I'm using now heats this end of the kitchen up by noon so I can at least function. Sure is better than those other ones. Next sunny days will make it better yet!

I HATE WINTER!!!!! Nearly every winter of my whole adult life has been my own personal Grand Solar Minimum!

It's almost over :-)

We warmed up to the upper 30s today with sunshine, lots of melting going on. We're starting to see patches of grass, and I think with tomorrow's highs in the low 40s tomorrow that should pretty much melt all the snow. As of now our highs on Sunday should be in the 50s. Thank you Lord!!

I guess tomorrow we'll have a good idea if we've blown any pipes, along with most people in Texas.

Martinhouse, it's almost over!!

680 Water Systems in Texas Issue Boil-water Notices

680 Water Systems in Texas Issue Boil-water Notices
Robert W. Felix

I live in one of those cities. We’ve suffered five days and five nights, 24 hours a day, with temperatures far, far below the freezing point. Record cold. And no heat.

People in the north will say it is no big deal for it to be that cold for so long, but for someone who recently moved to Texas (a half hour southwest of Fort Worth) , this was quite a surprise.

The beeping began at 6 am Monday when my power went out. The power went out because the thermometer read only 4°F (-15.6°C) and the Texas electric grid couldn’t handle it. Cities all across Texas were struggling with the cold, and the powers that be – very wisely, I think – decided to institute rolling blackouts to keep the power grid from crashing.

Happily, the power came back on a few hours later. And then it shut off. And then it came back on. And then off. And then on. Thank God (or whoever, or whatever, you believe in) for rolling blackouts. Only complaint I have with rolling blackouts is that the power always seems to go off just when you get hungry and decide to start cooking. Then – wham! – the house goes black.

Some cities never got to enjoy those rolling blackouts. Some cities, entire cities mind you, remained without any sort of power for days on end. I hate to think of all those people living in mobile homes without adequate insulation protecting the water pipes beneath their homes.

Anyway, back to the beeping. I jumped out of bed because I knew where the beeping was coming from. It was coming from the battery backup system I had connected to my computer. There’s a lot more to this story, but I won’t bore you with the details because literally millions of Texans (somewhere around nine million) were suffering the same fate. The next morning was even colder: minus! 1 degree Fahrenheit (-18.3°C).

And the cold continued. My thermometer never rose above the freezing point until this morning.

But what about the boil-water notices? Well, we noticed our water pressure begin going down, and down, and down. Got so bad that it would take almost a minute to fill a glass of water. And then it got worse; so bad that our toilet tanks were unable to fill. As I checked around, I found that most of the people in my neighborhood were suffering the same fate: Then I learned that there was little or no water pressure across almost the entire city.

Some of my neighbors decided to form a ‘posse’ as a show of force and go down to the local water district to demand better treatment. But when I learned that the extreme cold had forced more than 680 water systems in the state to issue boil water notices, I figured that their ‘show of force’ would be an exercise in futility. The reason for the falling water pressure was that the extreme cold was affecting the water pumps, and the reason for the boil-water notices was that the water treatment facilities had frozen.

Luckily, power outages in Texas dropped below 1 million for the first time Thursday. And today (Friday), at noon, my thermometer reads 33°F (0.6°C). Hooray! Above freezing for the first time in 5 days! My water pressure is back to normal, my house is comparatively warm, and I was able to take a hot shower this morning. Double hooray! Still have to boil the water for a few days until the system flushes out, but still, real water, contaminated or not, comes rushing out of my faucets.

This morning I actually feel lucky. According to msn.com, as of yesterday at least 37 people have died because of weather-related fatalities since last Thursday, with the majority of those deaths in Texas.

“Without power or heat, some Texans posted videos on social media of them burning old furniture to stay warm,” said msn.com. “Others shared images of flooding caused by burst pipes and collapsed ceilings.”

Tonight, the temperature here is forecast to drop to 14°F (-10°C). Then it will start to get warmer.

Is this the beginning of a new little ice age? Or of a full-fledged ice age? I don’t know. What I do know is that it sure as hell isn’t global warming.

I hope that thinking people all over the world will begin to understand the massive lies that AGW proponents have been fostering on us.

It makes no difference whether it gets warmer or colder, CO2 is not – not! – the driving force.

The past two weeks have seen a bit of everything in the Northern Hemisphere with Japan having a couple of warm spells in between deep powder, Canada has been fine but freezing, it's all sunshine in Europe and there have been some ridiculously deep days in the Northern Rockies.

Japan

It has been a mixed couple of weeks in Japan with heavy snowfalls and good powder days last week followed by warm weather and rain earlier in the week. The rain turned to snow in Hokkaido on Tuesday night, and on Wednesday Lucy Morrell our reporter in Furano wrote that, "the mix of yesterday's warmth and rain plus snow meant this morning we're all barricaded in our houses behind freezing slush." Not to worry, it's been all about powder since.

In Niseko the rain also turned to snow on Tuesday night leaving 46cms of fresh snow and temps at -8 with good powder on offer. There was another 25cms yesterday and the storm should clear today. The forecast is for the chance of rain across Hokkaido tomorrow, but the Grasshopper's calling for a return to snow after dark night and continuing on Sunday.

View: https://youtu.be/MIaUeWSN0kw
Run time is 1:44

Further south there was a burst of sunshine and spring like weather at the start of the week, but winter made a comeback with Hakuba reporting 25cms on Wednesday morning followed by another 30cms in the next 24 hours. Temps were down to -10, delivering some quality powder for those lucky enough to enjoy the empty-mid-week slopes. The last of the snow showers will clear today but there could be some rain tomorrow night and then another wet system on Monday. The good news is the GH reckons that will turn to snow and "we'll see cold northwesterlies swoop down over the country in the early hours of Tuesday with heavy snowfall."

USA

While the news has been talking about unusual snowfalls in Texas, for skiers and snowboarders the real news is further north in the Rockies where resorts in Utah and Wyoming have been getting hammered. In Jackson Hole February has been a huge month with over two metres and it has had 120cms in the past five days.

However, that pales into almost insignificance with what has been happening in Utah where
a five-day storm has resulted in massive amount of snow in the Wasatch Range, Alta receiving 2.5 metres since Feb 12 and Snowbird has had just over two metres. Both resorts have been closed due to the avalanche danger and nearly impossible task to open lifts while the road is also closed and for two days there was no interlodge travel in the resorts - i.e. you have to stay indoors.

That storm has finally eased, but another one is due for the northern Rockies late in the weekend with another 24-35cm for resorts in Utah while 50cms is forecast for Jackson Hole across the weekend.

Colorado also saw some decent snow with Aspen receiving 50cms in the past week while Vail has had 45cms. The forecast is for more snow in Colorado's Rockies this weekend with another 15-25cms expected by Monday. In California there were some decent snowfalls in the Tahoe resorts last weekend with settled weather since, but another system is due on the weekend with another 15-20cms in the forecast. Mammoth has been dry, but cold temps are maintaining the snow but a 10-15cm reset is forecast tomorrow.

Canada

The past fortnight has seen clear but extremely cold weather in Canada, with daily max temps in interior BC and Alberta dropping to mins 27!!! The extreme freezing temps saw some resorts closed due to unsafe conditions - frostbite is a real concern - with Sunshine in Banff closed for four days.

After a run of sunshine, Whistler Blackcomb has had a few snowfalls this past week with 16cms in the past 24 hours. It was a similar story in Big White which had received 25cms in the past week while snowfalls have been lighter further inland, Revelstoke receiving 12cms in the past week.

Back to back storms are due this weekend in British Columbia, favouring the west with and Whistler Blackcomb set to receive 70cms from tonight through to Monday. Interior resorts will also receive some good totals, the second system the strongest with 40 to 50cms possible for Revelstoke and Kicking Horse by Tuesday morning.

In Alberta, temps will return to a more pleasant -7 to -12 degrees and snowfalls will increase late in the weekend, the five-day forecast calling 25-30cm for Lake Louise by mid-week.

Europe

After the heavy snowfalls of a few weeks ago the past week has been mainly fine across the Alps with a few isolated snowfalls in Switzerland. This has been good news for the fair-weather skiers in Switzerland and Austria where lifts are spinning and the on-piste skiing has been excellent, but for other countries the pandemic closures continue.

Italian resorts were expecting to finally open last Monday, but last weekend the government changed its mind and announced that ski resorts would remain closed at least until March 5. Although Italian resorts are closed for recreational skiers they are open for elite training and races and the FIS Alpine World Championships were held in Cortina D'Ampazzo last week in perfect conditions. Nice for some.

In France resorts are open to local visitors for snow play and hiking, but lifts are still closed and there is hope that they may be allowed to open in spring. However, for resorts in Italy and France you have to wonder whether it will be worth the effort now that the busiest part of the season is long gone. On a brighter note, conditions in the backcountry have been safer with a more settled snowpack and the forecast is for mainly fine weather with a few light snowfalls possible over the weekend.

The extreme weather in the US is so severe even weather satellites are bewildered

The severe winter storm raging through the southern US brought such extreme cold that it confused weather satellites monitoring the situation.

On Tuesday, the cold air advancing south from the Arctic chilled the ground so much that one monitoring satellite mistook the ground for tops of clouds, which are usually much colder than surface temperatures. The phenomenon was first pointed out by Washington Post meteorologist Matthew Cappucci.

A similar effect was seen over Canada on February 10, where it was highlighted by the local news channel WROC TV in Rochester, New York.

The satellite in question is called GOES-East. It uses infrared sensors to measure temperatures at the top of clouds to plot them. Typically, the clouds are colder than the ground surface. The satellite's algorithms use this assumption to outline cloud cover from space, even at night.

Capucci tweeted a video illustrating the effect:

View: https://twitter.com/MatthewCappucci/status/1361509396925321216
Run time is 0:16

He wrote: "in Texas and across the Plains, the extreme cold present means ground temperatures are in the zero to minus-10 [degrees Celsius] range." That is between 32 and 14 degrees Fahrenheit. The average temperature over the past five years in Texas was 48 degrees Fahrenheit, according to a soil temperature map.

The satellite's algorithm then got confused and mistook the temperature of the ground for clouds, plotting them in the blue and purple, the colors usually reserved for clouds.

See here how the cold front could be seen coming down from Canada on February 16:

The extreme weather is causing havoc across the US.

The cold is affecting 30 states, and in some places, temperatures are 50 degrees lower than usual, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday. Record low temperature have been recorded in several cities, including Sioux Falls in South Dakota, Sky News reported.

A local here demonstrates how cold it is by throwing a hot liquid into the air, which instantly freezes:

View: https://twitter.com/NWSSiouxFalls/status/1361309703616270342
Run time is 0:18

A surge in demand for electricity in Texas has lead to powers cuts, leaving more than 2.8 million people without power on Monday, Insider's Bill Bostock, Aylin Woodward, and Kelly McLaughlin reported.

President Joe Biden declared a state of emergency in Texas on Sunday.

An energy emergency has been declared and 14 states in the US are facing rolling blackouts.

At least 20 deaths have been attributed to the cold snap so far.

The current conditions in Texas could be in part due to Arctic warming due to climate change, Judah Cohen, the director of seasonal forecasting at Atmospheric and Environmental Research, told The Guardian on Wednesday.

Sun is out and we're in the upper 40s now, and the melting is going at a rapid pace. We haven't stopped dripping yet, I'm kind of afraid to stop in case something is amiss and we haven't noticed it yet.

We do, too, but we're going to hold off until Monday or Tuesday, I think, to avoid the mad rush. That should also give the trucks time to get in a restock. I hope.

Try not to do anything you don't have to so your back can get a bit of a break. Please get it checked out as soon as you can....and don't forget 911 is your friend when you need it most.

Txgal, my back seems the tiniest bit better today and I sure hope it stays that way. It was like this yesterday but got bad again by the end of the day, which I realize does make sense. I'm still optimistic that it will improve. My brother suggested that I might have strained something lifting those heavy water pots. Boy, I'm sure not lifting them any more, heavy or not!

Now that it's going to be warmer, I am going to tell my nephew we can have gallons of water out in the chicken house and the rabbit area and they won't freeze at night. I will ask that he still come to feed and water but only every other day and only until my back is well enough to get out there myself. Hopefully, less than a week more. I have pails to sit on while I fill dishes and water jugs. I may have to ask him to take more jugs of water out there now and then, too, but I just can't let him keep coming here everyday.....after all he does have a busy life of his own.

I'm seeing little melted gaps on the greenhouse roof where sunshine can come through the snow, so I'm hoping it will be all clear there by tomorrow evening. Then I need to take all those mattress pads off of the plants out there.

Sure hope my back heals so I can get back to doing the things I like to do, even though I have to do them so slowly these days!

EDIT:
It is now 2:40 PM and the snow is over half melted from the roof of my greenhouse and what's left is very thin. Lots of sun shining into my kitchen now and it's gotten warm enough sitting here in the sun that I had to take my shawl off and move the space heater back away from me a little.

Heavenly!

Nephew just left from giving feed and water to the critters and bringing in one egg again. He thinks it's funny that I'm getting one egg every day.

Anyway, he liked the idea of changing our routine tomorrow so he only comes every other day. And when my back is even better, he will come maybe once a week or so and bring multiple gallon jugs of water out to the pens and I can handle the feeding and watering then, since I won't be trying to carry those heavy jugs of water. This will depend on if my back gets well enough for me to walk out there at all.

He came back up the driveway after he left just now and came in again with a handfull of stuff and said, here, I almost forgot to check your mail. What a sweetie!

He also said when warmer weather comes, he'd like to install a 110V water-on-demand heater under my kitchen sink. Oh, would that make life easier! I boil so much water now, just to make sure grease doesn't build up inside my drain line. Can't wait for that heater!
-----
Wonder how long this nice warm weather will last? Hope it doesn't just change the near-zero and the ice and blizzards to windstorms and tornadoes!

Comparing our latest cold outbreak to the ice-age map

Shoot! I may not have moved far enough south into Texas. (I’m up near Dallas/Fort Worth, which has been damned cold.) Oh well, at least I won’t be covered by ice.

__________

Comparing our latest cold outbreak to the ice-age map
Robert W Felix

Take a look at these graphs. The thick black line shows how far south the ice advanced during the last ice age. The dark dotted line shows how far south the ice advanced during a previous ice age.

Extent_of_Glaciation_in_North_America.png

Now look at the map below. It shows how far south the freezing temperatures, record low temperatures, extended during this las cold outbreak.

Do you see any similarities?
.
Polar-Vortex-18-Feb-2021.png

In my book Not by Fire but by Ice I warned that during an ice age, the climate of Chicago would move to Georgia.

Unfortunately, I fear that such a scenario may be unfolding before our very eyes.

Also unfortunately, I see our leaders vainly gearing up their attempts to fight the imagined – imagined! – ill effects of rising CO2 levels.

They are apparently ignorant of the fact that CO2 levels in the past have been far, far, far higher than today.

Now look at this graph, “Global Temperature and Atmospheric CO2 over Geologic Time.”

Temperature-and-CO2-over-Geologic-Time.png

See where CO2 levels stand today (at the far right side of the graph)?

And do you see what happened the last time CO2 levels dropped that far in the past? An ice age!

Forget this global warming crap. We should be preparing for the colder weather that we must inevitably face.

Continuing our misguided attempts to fight global warming, I maintain, would border on criminal. An ice age, even a little ice age, would be far, far more dangerous than any purported warming

6,601 US cold records from Feb 7 to Feb16 - Ice Age Now

6,601 US cold records from Feb 7 to Feb16
February 20, 2021 by Robert

A full thirty percent of all U.S. reporting stations set record daily cold highs and 20% set record daily cold lows from Feb. 14-16, according to NOAA. From Feb. 7th to the 16th, 6,601 daily cold records (for a particular day) were tied or set.

There were 944 daily-record-cold highs on Feb. 14, alone. (Happy Valentines day everyone.)
Another 567 daily-record-cold lows were set on the following day, Feb. 15.
As impressive as those numbers are, dozens of locations set records, not just for a particular day, but for any day in their history.

Eighty – count em, 80! – all-time coldest daily high temperature records were tied or set from Feb. 14-16. That means it was colder than any day in December. Or January. Or for February. Or any other month. It was the coldest for any day in their history.

Those were the coldest high temperature record-breakers. On top of that came the 50 all-time coldest low temperature records, in 11 different states, from Feb. 11th to 16th, according to NOAA.

Breaks record set in 1893

Bottineau, North Dakota, just 10 miles from the Canadian border, recorded an air temperature (not wind chill, mind you) of minus 51F (-59.8C) on Feb. 13, toppling their previous all-time low of -50F (-45.6C) which had stood for 128 years, since Benjamin Harrison was finishing up his term as President in 1893.

Other notable all-time lows were recorded in Owen, Wisconsin (-45F); Spearfish, South Dakota (-33F); Sioux City, Iowa (-28F; a tie); Lawton, Oklahoma (-12F); and Tyler, Texas (-6F).

Temperatures as cold as minus 20F (-28.9C) were recorded as far south as the Texas Panhandle and Arkansas.

This was the first time the National Weather Service’s Houston/Galveston forecast office issued a wind chill warning, during which Hobby Airport’s wind chill bottomed out at 1 degree F (-17.2C), according to NOAA meteorologist Alex Lamers.

Temperatures were 40 to 50 degrees lower than average over a large portions of the central and southern Plains for mid-February, again according to NOAA.

Oklahoma City set its longest stretch below 20 degrees of roughly one week straight, far, far below their average low temperature in mid-February of 34 degrees, according to Lamers.

Lamers also noted Wichita, Kansas, spent 10 straight days below 20 degrees (-6.7), while Kansas City spent 11 straight days without rising above 15F (-9.4C).

Billings, Montana, and Fargo, North Dakota, shivered through their longest subzero streaks since 1983 and 1996, respectively.

Abilene and San Angelo, Texas, set all-time snow records.

It was the first time on record Little Rock, Arkansas, had two calendar-day 6-inch-plus snowfalls in the same winter season, much less in the same week. Parts of Arkansas picked up over 20 inches of snow from both storms, combined.

This was in the United States alone. Add in Canada, and you’d have even more impressive numbers.

Magnetic Pole Shift + Low Solar Activity: "A Global Environmental Crisis" has begun - Electroverse

solar-shift-e1613989587706.jpg

MAGNETIC POLE SHIFT + LOW SOLAR ACTIVITY: “A GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL CRISIS” HAS BEGUN
FEBRUARY 22, 2021 CAP ALLON

Even the mainstream has awoken to the “cataclysmic” threat that is the combo of low solar activity and a weakening magnetic field

…even the Guardian:

The flipping of the Earth’s magnetic poles together with a drop in solar activity 42,000 years ago could have generated an apocalyptic environment that lead to the extinction of megafauna and to the end of the Neanderthals, reports the Guardian, citing a new paper published in the journal Science, co-authored by Prof Chris Turney of the University of New South Wales.

The new paper entitled “a global environmental crisis” discusses the temporary flip of the poles 42,000-or-so years ago, known as the Laschamp excursion, which lasted for about 1,000 years.

The Guardian article continues:

Previous work found little evidence that the event had a profound impact on the planet, possibly because the focus had not been on the period during which the poles were actually shifting. Now scientists say the flip, together with a period of low solar activity, could have been behind a vast array of climatic and environmental phenomena with dramatic ramifications.

“It probably would have seemed like the end of days,” said Turney.

The mainstream, as you’d expect, fails to draw any comparisons with the events of today, and not one MSM article attempts to give their readers a fuller understanding of the story.

The Laschamp excursion was just one of many in “recent” times, with these magnetic excursions (not full-blown reversals) appearing to hit approximately every 12,000 years:

Years AgoMagnetic ExcursionIce EventExtinctions
~12,000GothenburgYounger DryasGlobal Disaster
~24,000Lake MungoHeinrich 2Eurasia
~35-37,000Mono LakeHeinrich 4N. America
~40-47,000LaschampHeinrich 5Global Disaster
~60,000Vostok/GreenlandHeinrich 6Australia
~72,000TobaHeinrich 7aGlobal Disaster
Simplified breakdown of past magnetic excursions on Earth.

And yes, you concluded correctly, we’re due another.

In fact, evidence suggests it’s actually already begun.

That’s why all this matters.

Every 12,000 years –or there abouts– our planet suffers a magnetic excursion during which its north and south magnetic poles “wander” and eventually “flip” — this process results in a waning of Earth’s magnetosphere which in turn fuels serious climatic events and mid-level extinction events on the ground.

View: https://youtu.be/mhYdYD2CsnA
Run time is 0:20

The devastation of these events is truly “cataclysmic” –and they earn that word unlike the many modern cries of wolf– because these events are much more than climatic, they also result in a bombardment of cosmic energy on the lower atmosphere as our shield against the Sun fails. Dangerous levels of radiation also impact the mantle, which can affect silica-rich magma viscosity.

We’ve seen accelerated magnetic field loss in recent years (driven by our wandering poles–visualized above) — and this a key indication that the excursion is winding up, that the poles are readying to flip.

In the mid-1800s, after millennia of stability, the field began waning and has been doing so ever-since — accelerated losses were officially reported as 10 percent in the year 2000, and then, just a decade later, as 15 percent in 2010. 2015 and 2017 accelerations were only announced to the world in 2020 and 2021, and they detected significant shifts in the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA).

[Note: the SAA is an area where Earth’s inner Van Allen radiation belt comes closest to Earth’s surface. This leads to an increased flux of energetic particles in this region exposing it to higher-than-usual levels of radiation.]

The strength of Earth’s magnetic field, as of 2020

We are indeed due for the next climatic and environmental disaster–those cardboard coffee cup supping hippies have that aspect of our future entirely correct; however, where they go hopelessly wrong is believing the event is wholly unnatural and that drastic poverty-inducing action will prevent it.

Cataclysms are what magnetic excursions/reversals coupled with low solar activity do: they blanch the planet of life and set things up anew — look at them as the true “great reset”.

Prepare accordinglylearn the facts, relocate if need be, and grow your own.

An atmospheric river event known as the Pineapple Express is forecast to bring a prolonged period of wet weather and the potential for avalanches to Washington and Oregon beginning Sunday.

An atmospheric river event known as the "Pineapple Express" is forecast to bring a prolonged period of wet weather and the potential for avalanches to Washington and Oregon beginning Sunday.

The effects from rain and considerable mountain snow will be felt through early this week. With the ground already saturated from previous storms, flooding is possible even from the few inches of rain the storm is forecast to produce.

Avalanche warnings have been issued for much of the Cascades across Washington ahead of this heavy snow. A "high" avalanche danger warning (level 4 out of 5) has been issued for Sunday by the Northwest Avalanche Center. Large natural avalanches are possible even at lower elevations.

Avalanches have killed 30 people across the United States this winter season, according to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center.

"This will mark the beginning of a wet period across Western Washington, as the southern periphery of the Atmospheric River will affect the region before it shifts southward over the area Monday," the National Weather Service office in Seattle warned Saturday.

This could be another notable weather event for parts of Washington and Oregon, with localized urban and river flooding along with gusty winds which could lead to power outages across both states.

Seattle averages 3.5 inches of rain during February but the city has already had more than a foot of rain this year, a surplus of 4 inches.

This new system arrives as Oregon still has 30,000 customers without power from a storm last week.

How a Pineapple Express forms

Atmospheric rivers are narrow corridors of the upper atmosphere that transport intense moisture from a large body of water onto land, like rivers in the sky. This particular atmospheric river event is special in terms of where its moisture comes from — Hawaii.

The Pineapple Express originates near Hawaii and travels across the Pacific Ocean to the western coast of North America.

When you join together that narrow transport corridor with the tropical Pacific moisture around Hawaii, it can inundate the West Coast with heavy rainfall and snow.

Not all atmospheric river events are disruptive. However, those that pack large amounts of water vapor and strong winds can cause extreme rainfall and subsequent flooding.

"When it reaches the West Coast, the Pineapple Express can dump as much as five inches of rain on California in one day," according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

An atmospheric river event in January dumped between 5 and 10 inches of rain across the Olympic Peninsula and extreme northwestern Oregon. The heavy rainfall produced widespread flooding and landslides while high winds caused significant tree damage and power outages in western Washington and northwestern Oregon.

And yes, you concluded correctly, we’re due another.

In fact, evidence suggests it’s actually already begun.

That’s why all this matters.

Every 12,000 years –or there abouts– our planet suffers a magnetic excursion during which its north and south magnetic poles “wander” and eventually “flip” — this process results in a waning of Earth’s magnetosphere which in turn fuels serious climatic events and mid-level extinction events on the ground.

If one considers the evidence including glass beads on the moon, city ruins of ancient civilizations Well below current ocean levels, like Douglas Vogt has, the evidence suggests periodic mini Novas by our sun on a disturbingly regular intervals. According to Vogt, some of us will still be alive when the next one arrives in the 2040s ...

I am in the Oregon Cascades, and have seen many pineapple express's. The most catastrophic ones have had buckets of warm rain falling on two or three feet of snow, which soaks the rain for a while, than releases at once.

What is concerning right now is the vast burned areas. Because the fires were late in the year, there hasn't been much regrowth, so slides and debris flows are probable. The soil in my area drains really well, which will help, but clay is more common at lower elevations, so slides will be an issue.
