FARM Georgia Deputy shoots baby donkey, while trespassing.

There's been a lot of "pet killed by cop" stories around here but they are almost always Protective breed dogs or. Crosses of those.

I sort of get those but a very small example of a non-canine?

Not sure how to put that into a publicly acceptable PSA.

Not all tools are the same.. My 10mm socket (where is the 10 anyway?) doesn't fit and operate correctly on a 3/4 bolt. The correct tool for the job is always required.
 
Ok, here I go on this subject. Some here have already hit around the subject so lets get right to it..... Why is the threatened lawsuit not including excessive force and arrest against the PD from the land/donkey owner??? It seems the property owner is now trying to cover for his total failure in exercising his rights in property and home protection??? He failed in front of his daughter in the most embarrassing way.

Surely you're not suggesting a father/homeowner should "leave the porch" over a trespass and a dead pet. His ensuing absorption of numerous "mag dumps" would have left the girl an orphan if not dead too.

I'm not saying it won't come to that in some future scenario. "In for a dime, in for a dollar" sort of thing.

I will agree that we do not know all the details but from the base info ,nitetime,gunshot on your property, when faced with just that I am leaving my porch loaded heavy for bear and am going to advance on the scene requesting then demanding answers. If the PD are really trained to descalate the situation then that will be the time to prove it.
Freedom costs, I am going to push it to the limit inside my property.

this was a MINIATURE donkey and was not a full grown MINIATURE at that. I agree, a full grown donkey can be a menace, and can do a lot of damage, but this one was not a menace

Doesn't change the fact that he's a pussy, ill-suited to any sort of law enforcement.

Settle the lawsuit. Pay the poor owners their compensation, plus a quarter of a million for pain and suffering. And then spend some time introducing every police officer to the REST of the occupants of the population they are supposed to protect and serve...

I made a comment on another thread about wishing we had peace officers back again. All we have now are piece of shit assholes. A member in no uncertain terms said this is how we make good officers. Won't call them out by name. Sure am glad he gets to live and become a GOOD officer. Idiot.
 
They were not in hot pursuit of an armed and dangerous criminal. There was no reason not to knock on the door of the house before entering the pasture. Any town, Cedartown or otherwise, that hires that guy is just asking for a lawsuit. The next time he gets trigger happy the lawsuits are going to say that the town knew the guy was trigger happy and had poor judgment, yet they hired him anyway.

On another note, I saw a photo of the Cedartown Police Dept. Just about every one of them was grossly overweight. It left me wondering if being fat was a job requirement.
 
Can anyone answer why the cops were in that paddock and not the paddock across the road?
What lured them to that paddock? A little harmless fun? An image in a paddock that looked like a suspect trying to hide?

Sounds plausible but still no excuse for not knocking on a door.

Curious whether the body cameras and drone footage will match up.
 
Remember that when they write these reports, they write them to favor themselves. The Donkey charged and attacked and I had to shoot it to save the K-9. The drone will show what happened. Police will always say they were justified. The report won't say I was scared, pissed myself and shot a miniature donkey.

Creative report writing 101. It's one of the first things you learn.

Body slamming someone to the ground is "Decentralizing" them or "assisted them to the ground" and always, when using force, remember to add, "For their safety and the safety of the officers".

This is no different and after a few years it becomes easy to pick it out.

Much like the "classified" documents of the government, which 95% should not be classified, the police/security report is to CYA.

The bodycam footage should be interesting.

Oh, I know...

But unless this guy is a psychopath who kills for fun (and I *think* that trait would have shown up before now), I think he's telling the truth...he was *terrified*! *Something* was coming directly towards him out of the dark pasture, screaming, and having had zero experience with any pet larger than a cat, he *knew* it was violently attacking him.

As I said above, he's a pussy.

I've been trying all day to find this video and just now located it.

I can think of no clearer example of the result of "defunding police". Of course, this video is from Minnesota. Not a single officer, including the sergeant, has the command presence to take control of the situation. They continually try to reason with people who are beyond reasoning (and that much is obvious). They allow hospital staff to be threatened by these out of control parents and they allow other patients (this is a psych ward) to suffer further traumatization by the yelling, cursing, chaos and physical confrontation. When they FINALLY do step in, it is painfully obvious they have very little training in taking someone into custody, I think every single "officer" that was involved was a DEI hire as not a single one showed any competancy. And, after that cluster****, a jury finds the parents guilty of all charges brought against them but the judge ends up giving them slaps on the wrist at sentencing. It's disgusting. *spit*

We love to make fun (at least I do ) of the bumbling ineptitude of the British police but, sadly, our law enforcement departments are traveling down the same path.
